Ditsy waitress. Long wait to sit though tons of seating available. Staff disappeared for long periods. Good desserts but that’s it. Won’t go again.

Decent food. Terrible service. It took 2.5 hours after we got seated, even though we knew exactly what we wanted when we sat down. The food came out wrong and cold and ice cream came out completely melted. Probably the worst dining experience and service ever.

Worst service ever. When I visit my family in Utica, we go to Friendly’s often and its always good with good service, nothing fabulous, but good… ki I went to the one on Maple Road and it was awful. When we ordered, the waitress seemed like she had no idea what we were even ordering… took the menu from us and copied it from the menu as if she had never looked at the menu the whole time she worked there. Then we waited for like 40 minutes and it wasn’t busy at all. After a half hour or so I looked around for the waitress and she was no where to be found. When I did find her and enquired where our food was she said«oh yeah, it has been a while hasn’t it, they must be busy» then when the food came out it was ice cold. So I told the waitress and she insisted it hot of the grill, when I pointed out the cheese sauce on my french fries was so cold it had actually skinned over, she called the manager over and I showed him how cold the food was. He was just like«what do you want me to do?» It was too late to have them redo it. Neither of them seemed to care. Neither apologized. I don’t get it, if you hate your job that much why not do something else. Service like that is disgraceful. Don’t eat here.

I feel bad giving two stars. I haven’t been to one of these in a while for breakfast. Nice place, super nice server, Rachel. The food quality was really poor. The eggs were like chopped up wet suit. Yes, like gortex. And cooked in vegetable oil. Really hard to eat, I didn’t finish them. Normal packaged bacon, almost like the fake microwave bacon. The French toast was bread. Huge pieces of wet, yellow bread. It can’t be real bread dipped in batter. Yea, it’s not. Coffee is whatever. The 70’s soft hits playing above didn’t help.

I won’t ever return to this Friendly’s again. We were seated and I was handed a menu that was so sticky I couldn’t open it. I understand things get spilled, but check the menu before you put it away. We sat and waited at our table for over 15 minutes. Nobody came to greet us or take our drink order. There were several servers standing around the ice cream area just talking. We decided to leave at that point. My husband asked to speak with the manager who just have him an «uh huh». We made our way to a place down the street and were taken very good care of.

It’s Friendly’s. Great food and ice cream that I’ve been around since I was a child. My wife loves it because it’s a memory of times and people gone bye. For me it’s a different location than childhood but the feel overall is the same. Food And Fun

I am going to be honest guys, it’s just a friendly’s. For those of you who are not familiar with this chain, it is very similar to an Anderson’s. As far as they go this one is pretty good. It is always clean and has a ton of seating so there is rarely a wait. The servers are always nice and do a fantastic job. I would recommend that you stick to the burgers, super melts, and apps here. They do that kind of stuff well. There other attempts at fancier stuff, not so much. The ice cream is always good but nothing special. In the end the only way you can be disappointed with friendly’s is if you are hoping for a creative foodie paradise, but if you want greasy suburban chain food this place will not disappoint.

Our 4 year old granddaughter insisted on going to Friendly’s for lunch. I thought that was a great idea because I remember, as a child, LOVINGIT when we went there. I couldn’t wait for that buttery, gooey, tuna melt. The place is clean, open. We got waited on immediately. My husband ordered the soup and salad combo, my granddaughter got a hot dog and apple slices. The hotdog was teeny, but she ate it, which really is very unusual. I don’t know how this kid functions on the minimal amount of food she eats! The apple slices immediately turned brown, so she wouldn’t eat them. Don said his food was good but uninspired. My tuna melt was a huge disappointment. Very little cheese, wasn’t really melted but the bread was grilled, and for some reason the sandwich was barely warm. The icecream for dessert of course tasted good, but not spectacular.

Walked in and waiting area quite dirty. We walked to the podium to be seated, had to wait while two girls behind the counter talked to what sounded like their friend sitting at the counter. Young lady not very pleasant told us there was a 20 minute wait. The whole time we were standing there we could see empty tables. The whole time the girl at the counter was being waited on. Too frustrated we left and went to Red Lobster down the street.

I had breakfast here with a companion last Saturday, before heading back to the airport to fly back to Europe. This was close to the hotel I was staying, and so after a short walk, we were seated and served promptly. This is a chain, so there’s nothing special about the food. All the traditional breakfast staples that one can find in a diner are here. That being said, perhaps it is really their friendliness that makes me want to give this place more than just the average three stars. So even though the coffee is just blah, the eggs are a little bit more than okay, and the food really not memorable, the interactions I had with the staff are the ones that make me put 4 stars here. In short, go here if you are in the area and want an early breakfast(they open at 8:00). Don’t go here for the food. But go here for the friendliest diner staff. Oh wait, I forgot, they are called«Friendly’s».

+ yummy beef burgers, friendly service — they need to clean up the floors Tons of roomy booths and tables. Floors were a little dirty but passable. Our waitress was very friendly. We ordered a couple of burgers with regular fries and waffle fries. The regular fries were cooked perfectly. The waffle fries were coated in spices and cooked a little to much. The burgers were juicy and the bun and toppings were nice and fresh. For dessert we had a hot fudge Sundae with whipped cream and a cherry on top. All in all a good experience. We’ll be back!

The food is horrible unless you specifically are going for a melt. Melter beware it will basically be a grease filled two pieces of bread filled with some kind of unhealthy garbage in between that. But who goes to friendlys for food??? not I. The ice cream is overpriced and for some reason always melting when you receive your dish? but you can create about a million different topping options what ever it may be they will surely make it for you which is great. They have bad food, just ok ice cream but going with your son or daughter is all about seeing them light up when they see that sundae just for them.

I have been going to Friendly’s restaurants since I was a kid. After a school concert, or football game everyone would meet up for a treat… Normally this would be in Utica, NY but as it turns out they have all recently closed which really disappointed me. Thus I find myself in Buffalo NY feeling a nostalgic & my Friendly’s fix. To me it’s really about the ice cream, but you can’t have desert unless you finish your dinner! Any diner type dish is just fine here. Tuna melt, patty melts, burgers, BLT’s, hot dogs, you get the idea… This time I opted for a classic cheeseburger and fries. And it was classic, no complaints here. The service is always pretty standard, and the place is clean. Now for the best part! My Reese’s Pieces Sunday. This amazing sundae hasn’t changed in the 25 or so years I’ve been eating it! I even try and replicate it at home from time to time with not much success. Hot fudge, peanut butter, vanilla ice cream, reese’s pieces & whip cream. Friendly’s please doesn’t shut down completely!
