MacGregor’s Grill and Tap Room

We went to macgregors on a Saturday night. There was no wait to be seated. It was busy but not packed. The chicken tortilla soup was salty but good. It had a little kick to it, but just the right amount of spice.
The cheese quesadillas were good but they had tomatoes inside them. There wasn’t just a few tomatoes it was loaded, which was not easy to eat. The quesadillas did come with a generous serving of sour cream and salsa. The onion rings were enormous and delicious but a bit hard to eat. The chicken fingers were delicious and the kids meal comes with a huge bowl of mixed veggies. There was zucchini, carrots, broccoli, squash, and cauliflower.
The food was good, the service was mediocre.

Will never go here again!
My friend and I walked in at 6:30 on a Tuesday night to grab a drink and a quick dinner. When we arrived the kid at the door advised there was a 15 minute wait so we told him we would be at the bar waiting. He said that he would come and get us when our table was ready.
We went up to the bar, waited at least 7 – 8 minutes for a bartender to acknowledge us. There were only 2 working. Finally the girl came over and took our drink order. We were sitting there enjoying our drinks and talking when I noticed 2 men who came in after us who had been standing near us at the bar for probably 10 minutes, get seated by the host! So I asked the host where were we on the list since it has been more than 30 minutes since we walked in. He very shortly «what was your name again?» I gave him my name, he then said «Oh I called your name twice and you didn’t answer so i assumed you left!» Please note this bar is loud and was pretty busy for a tuesday night, so he must have whispered my name because there was no way I would have heard him. He then came back after seating the men and took us to a table.
From here on out it just got worse!
We sat at the table for 17 minutes, watching all the young girl servers walk by and completely ignore us! Finally I asked for a manager who is probably not more than 25 years old!
He came over and I explained about the delay with the host and seating us and that we had been waiting for a server and not one has stopped to take our order. He apologized and said «we will take care of you, let me get someone right over to take your order».
A few minutes later one of the girls who had been walking by constantly seemed extremely shocked that no one had stopped at our table. I let it slide. We ordered loaded nachos, bbq pork with cheddar cheese pizza and 2 drinks with waters. She advised that she would put the order in right away so that the nachos would come out asap!
She managed to bring the 2 alcoholic beverages within in 5 minutes. We are now sitting there for 40 minutes, so I asked her where our nachos were. She said she would check on them, about 10 minutes later she brought them out. If you look at the pic I posted, you can see that it was basically just a big plate of tortilla chips with a little sprinkle of cheese and a few globs of pork. After another 10 minutes, our pizza came out. At that time, I asked her for some more sour cream and guacamole. She never brought them.
Now after another 15 minutes the host stopped by and said «sorry for the delay with seating you, I spoke to my manager and he allowed me to remove the nachos from your bill.» I immediately asked him to look at the nachos and I asked him if he thinks they even look appealing! Since there was barely any cheese on the chips, most of them were burnt. He ignored me and at the same time, the manager was walking by so he grabbed the manager and said «Do you want to talk to them because they aren’t happy with the free nachos!»
I expressed to the manager that the service was horrible from the minute we walked in the door. We waited way too long for nachos and he interrupted me and said «fine we will take it all off» and walked away!
I have no problem for paying for food but everything was handled so poorly from start to finish that I didn’t feel we should pay for anything.
I seriously hope the general manager and/​or owner of this location reads the reviews and addresses these issues. We witnessed 2 other tables complaining. We left there at 8:45– ridiculous amount of time to be there for nachos and a small pizza!
