This place is always fast, friendly and clean! We order take out usually and we never have a problem with freshness or the taste of the subs, fries, or onion rings. Delicious!

I love this place. My favorite is the stinger sub. The cookies are really good as well. The service has always been friendly whenever I’ve come in.

Always my favorite place for a late night dinner. Philly’s are at its best. Wings would go awesome with their bleu cheese. Sometimes, customer service would be slightly disappointing. But, not a big deal.

It’s been years since I’ve come to Jims. Seriously, maybe 3 years. So after my coworker told me that she thinks Jim’s has the best chicken finger subs, I had to come back and try it again. I ordered a 6 inch Jim’s Blue with the Taco Nachos and a Pepsi. Everything was delicious. The Jim’s Blue was great. Good fingers and sauce. The bread was pretty good too. I wouldn’t call it «the best chicken finger sub» I’ve ever had(that award goes to Maybacks) but it still was quite good. The Taco Nachos were great! The perfect sloppy side with nachos, taco meat, queso, and sour cream. I liked these the best. The service was great. I came at about 1:00 on a Saturday. Everyone working was very helpful. I remembered a reason I stopped coming was the high prices. This was about $ 12 total, which I thought was a bit high, but still okay. I would be back for the sloppy taco nachos. But still probably wouldn’t say the chicken finger sub was the best.

Turkey Club Sub– average. Not the greatest but not the worst. Quick friendly service.

Jim’s chicken finger sub cannot be beaten. I would never refuse a date if that person bought me Jim’s.

This is a spot usually reserved for late night eats, but as of recently, I haven’t been able to stay awake past 11! So, I’ve been getting some daytime cravings for Jim’s. I usually get the 8″ steak hoagie meal with extra sauce. It is very filling, and I can usually only take a couple of bites! I always eat the fries first, because I hate leftover French fries. When fresh, Jim’s French fries are one of my favorites in the area! I do not know why, but there’s just something about them that makes me crave them. The steak hoagie is good, but very greasy. They do toast the bread which I like, and it makes the sandwich much easier to consume. However, there have been a few times where the amount of steak on the hoagie has been inconsistent. Sometimes there will be so much that it is difficult to bite into, and other times I wonder if the person on the grill is having a bad day and wants to take it out on the customers by depriving us of steak. Who knows. I haven’t tried much else on the menu besides a taco here and there(subpar, Mighty Taco is better and I don’t even like Mighty that much), so I cannot speak for the other menu items. I have heard great things about the stinger sub and the chicken fingers in general, but I do not eat chicken, so I cannot attest for those myself.

Just Another Jim’s Steakout location. Great food when you had a few, not so great sober. Ha-ha. The Jefferson is my favorite for 10+ years. Steak or chicken in the grass with fresh spinach is good too. Staff usually pretty friendly and cool.

I think the people who work at Jim’s Steakout should be nominated for sainthood. I don’t know how they deal with all of the drunk people who wander in there at odd hours of the morning. They also take telephone orders ahead of time, which is convenient when you’re cabbing home and want to run in and grab your food. One time they forgot to include my mac n cheese bites. It was tragic and I’d rather not talk about it. Other than that, they always seem to get my order right and the food is consistently wonderful. Their chicken fingers and Stinger subs are absolutely delicious. Their french fries are also among my favorites in Buffalo, especially for fast food. My favorite thing to order is the mac n cheese bites. They hit the spot every time. I’ve also tried their poutine fries a few times. They were excellent.

Just drove 15 hours from Atlanta and got to Buffalo at 1am. Of course the first place we went before saying hi to family or friends was to Jim’s to get a Chicken Finger Sub. No where else in the country has CFSs and Jim’s is one of our must visit stops anytime we’re back in town. People of Buffalo, don’t take the CFS for granted. Eat them everyday. Order them with extra hot sauce and blue cheese. Think of all of us that have moved away when you do.

I always come to this location because its the closest to my house, and usually get great food and service. We always come in the afternoon and the workers are great! They’re almost always very friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I were craving some BBQ Chicken finger subs tonight so we decided to grab a bite to eat at midnight. This was honestly the worst experience I’ve had at Jim’s! The two girls glared at us as we walked in and they were annoyed when I took a few minutes to look at the menu. The girl taking our order mumbled questions at me and got pissy when I didn’t hear her. We sat down to wait and after ten minutes I looked behind me and saw they had placed our bag on the counter without even calling it out. I asked the three workers if this was my food and the one girl, as if I once again was bothering her, said«uh yah.» The food wasn’t even good and it was very sloppily put together, I don’t recommend coming here at night, the workers clearly don’t give a sh*t! We will be back… but only In the afternoon!

Although I am already a huge fan of Jim’s, and have been for literally years, before my mother and I went out this evening I was reading the reviews for this specific location out of sheer curiosity. Simply because this location is the closest to us, I think my favourite location is the original down on Elmwood Ave. Fox E.‘s review stood out in particular seeing as I had a similar unfortunate experience with the staff being rude. More importantly, let me address the food first. My mom and I have been fans of this place for so long! I absolutely love their chicken fingers and chicken finger subs, they’re awesome every time. Also, I recently branched out and tried their Taco In a Bag, which is all your taco essentials mixed up and served in a Doritos Nacho Cheese bag(chips very obviously included). My mother is a little bit more adventurous when it comes to the menu, though her standby is the Jim’s Famous Steak Hoagie(steak, fried onions, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato & Jim’s «secret sauce») — she’s tried the Diavlo & their turkey hoagie, which are all according to her pretty damn good. Tonight I ordered my usual — chicken finger sub, hot with blue cheese and an order of their«award winning»(what award do you think they’ve won?) French fries. We were the only customers in there at 12AM which was strange, yet they had three unattractive, unfriendly and very obviously bored out of their skulls college girls working behind the counter. Automatically got a very clique-y, uncomfortable vibe… which isn’t common in the other locations I’ve been to. Can’t say I was a fan. After I received my food, I sat down and took a picture of my order to throw on Unilocal!(Like many others.) Two of the employees blatantly found this amusing and very strange as I overheard them talking about how weird taking pictures of your food is. And then the two of them proceeded to stare like dazed holsteins at yours truly as I tried to eat my food. In short, food is five stars for quick artery clogging deliciousness. As for service at this location… go somewhere else unless you’d like an order of ignorance with your meal.

Known for their«I see drunk people» quotes on their Jim’s shirts, those four words describe the biggest part of their business, having lines of drunk, hungry people going out the door at the end of the night around 4am when people are forced to leave the bar and feed their drunken need for some great drunk food before getting home and praying to the porcelain gods that their great food stays down for them to enjoy. Now that I got that graphic tale of how Jim’s Steakout became the hot spot for the late night munch fest let’s get on with the review! Assuming your reading reviews here to see if this place is right for you, I’ll give you an honest answer, yes it is. Jim’s has a variety of food that you can choose from. My favorite sub they have is the Diavlo which has steak chopped on the grill topped with fried hot peppers, melted cheese and Jim’s Secret Sauce — all on a toasted Italian roll. All hoagies come in an 8 inch or 12 inch option. In the mood for a taco or possibly a wrap? wings? other hot or cold hoagies? How about a burger grilled to perfection? that’s just a short list of options you can get here. If you’re on a diet or just like to eat healthy there are different varieties of salads, from healthy to unhealthy salads, or even order one of each ;). There are a few different side orders you can add onto your order as well such as onion rings, chips and three different styles of fries: regular fries, taco fries, and if you’re Canadian you’ll love this more than anyone, the poutine fries. There are combo options you can choose from too which will give a slight discount if you order your food in that fashion. This location is the second installment of Jim’s on Sheridan Drive but this time it is in Amherst. The first time I came here I drove all the way from Main street and Evans just to eat Jim’s because this seemed to be the closest one to my work at the time. I used to go here about once or twice a month for lunch. This Jim’s seems smaller than the other ones that are around(other than the one downtown). Same as my other reviews though, friendly service from the people that work there, and they crank out the food pretty quick. No complaints here! Think this can be your favorite place where you might start dropping some serious cash here to feed that Jim’s craving? Ask them a Jim’s card. The card is free and you can gain points with every purchase you make. You’ll be pleasantly surprised when you tally your points and get a meal on Jim’s for being a great customer. I lost my card but they were able to get me another one and transfer my points, so you know they want you to get the points and get a free meal on them because that’s just how they are, great people who put up with a lot of drunk people to make sure your fed before passing out. This is one of the best ideas for a company I’ve seen in a long time, and can see this place blow up and expand throughout the U. S as one of the next big things. Try it out now so you can tell everyone that you had Jim’s before Jim’s was big when it gets there.

I absolutely LOVE this place! I miss it sooo much and I wish more than anything that they had one out here in CA. Evertime I go home I eat this at least once, usually twice, and I’ve been known to bring one back to CA. Even after a 6 hr flight, still delicious. I always get the Jim’s Bleu medium. Huge chicken fingers that are hot, spicy, crispy and doused in their delicious hot sauce. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, are all crisp and fresh. The blue cheese adds a delicious tanginess that goes hand in hand w/buffalo chicken fingers and wings. Chicken finger subs are something they don’t have in CA, for some reason no one’s got the brilliant idea yet, and if they did, I’m sure it could never be this good. Just like chicken wings they just can’t seem to get it right. Also amazing is their Jim’s Famous Steak Hoagie. The steak is chopped up in small pieces and super tender so it’s easy to eat. There’s fried onions on top, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and the most amazing secret sauce ever. I would take this over an authentic Philly Cheesesteak any day. This is a Buffalo favorite and if you’re ever in the area do not leave w/out trying one of their famous hoagies, you will NOT be disappointed, I promise :-)

Absolutely not the right Jim’s to go to. I’ve been in there a couple of times and they were extremely rude to me and the food wasn’t a patch on the other Jim’s locations I’ve been to(Sheridan/Sweet Home, Allen St, Chippewa). I saw some old friends there and they were saying the same thing. Just a mile down the road is the best Jim’s location(Sheridan and Sweet Home), with some really nice kids working in there and a higher standard of food — so take your business down the road, people! Review of their food in general: Their Steak Tacos are good(ask for them medium or hot), very Buffalonian — not at all Mexican — but still very good. Their subs are their specialty, not least because they are so greasy and delicious… get one that has everything(Steak, Peppers, Cheese, Onions, Mushrooms) for the full Jim’s effect. One of the heaviest sandwiches you will ever eat but also one of the most delicious, and extremely original. The closest to a real Philly Cheesesteak you will ever get outside PA but with a Buffalo slant to it. Their wings are good, but there are better places to get wings. If you’re going to get a drink, remember you’re in Buffalo, so you have to get Loganberry!

While the service may leave something to be desired, the food at Jim’s is always on point. Chicken finger subs from Jim’s are always amazing and being away from Buffalo… I miss it more than I miss some people! Stinger subs are also fantastic. The Jim’s location on Main Street in the city is better all the way around.

My first experience at Jim’s steak out will probably be my last. Kinda pricey for a college kid orientated restaurant. The 9 $ «steak hoagies» are basically just stringed together hamburgers. The place just looks pretty plain and boring. Seriously if this is the best hoagies you’ve ever had then you gotta get out more. wanna see more pics of jim’s?

I don’t understand why so many people love this place?! Iv’e had a lot of steak subs and cheese steaks over the years and Jim’s doesn’t rate that high in my book. It’s good, not great. I find most of the menu items overpriced.
