Moti is a hidden gem in Amherst! You can tell how much care goes into the food. The flavor combinations of the Famous NY Bowl are unique and amazing. I have had one twice this week! Lighting and décor are very nice as well. Prices are very affordable for how craftily matriculated the dishes are

Buttered rice is not saffron rice. Stop cutting corners with the food. Edit: Owner seems like a standup guy based on his polite and well reasoned reply, but I know what I ate was not how it should taste. The rice tasted like a milky buttery rice and was not good. I couldn’t finish it and I love rice. Maybe it was an off night for the restaurant. I don’t know. I eat Persian food frequently, all along the East Coast of the U.S. I have no pernicious motives. I’m just pretty disappointed with the meal I received. Sorry.

This place was such a treat! Tucked away in Boltwood walk(signage is a little poor, it’s next to Mi Taqueria) it was simply lot, quiet and the service was excellent! The food was excellent and the babaganoush was unique and my favorite thing we ordered. Plus, dinner for 2 under $ 40? Yes please!

Love the food at Moti. Excellent hummus and fresh pita. The Mediterranean nachos are great for sharing and the entrees don’t disappoint. Much more comfortable since the large Persian rug was added to the concrete floor. Friendly wait staff and decent service. A favorite for birthday dinners.

Really difficult to find this place they don’t advertise well. That being said well worth making an effort to find it. Atmosphere was really relaxed and chill, yet still classy. The menu doesn’t have huge variety, but the food is phenomenal.

This is where we go most Friday evenings. Delicious food, very sweet service, and great atmosphere with soft lighting and nice background music. If I don’t eat here at least once a week, I really miss it! Some of my favorite dishes at Moti are the nachos(addictive), feta jalepeno hummus, rose water lemonade tequila drink, curry chicken, steak kabobs, and chocolate lava cake(best I’ve ever had). This place is very friendly, relaxing, comforting and has really delicious food at reasonable prices. Two thumbs way up!

Difficult to find at the moment, but well worth it. Look for the large yoga sign and Moti is under that. Terrific food at reasonable prices. The best baba ghanouj I’ve had. Only one quibble: could really use an expanded beer list. The selection is lightweight and not interesting. But the food is marvelous. We will definitely return!

This place is fantastic — the food is delicious(Famous NY Chicken & Lamb!) and staff is very friendly and polite. If you love Mediterranean food, you won’t find a better place in Western Mass. Reasonably priced and great take-out too!

Just ate at Moti one word FANTASTIC !!! Best Persian food. Chicken Beyani was so flavorful with the perfect amount of spices. Chicken curry just like my mothers. I highly recommend this place. Wait staff displays excellent customer service, very knowledgable and quick. We will be back as this was the best part of our Amherst trip.

We have been going to Moti ever since they opened. I am pretty sure they have changed owners or management because the flavor of the food has changed. We haven’t been in the past few months since they were closed due to a pipe burst but the food use to be exceptional IMO. Now its just ok. The grape leaves are too moist and lacking in flavor. Plus where’s the pomegranate molasses you use to put on the grape-leaves? The rice dishes are ok but also a little too moist with«something» missing. Their white rice use to have a sprinkling of sumac, I love that sumac and that’s gone also. The steak tips, my favorite dish, was just ok-lacking something they use to put on them and the Persian salad did not have any lemon in it. These flavors really matter in a Persian restaurant and now they are missing. I would rather pay more than eat those same items without the Persian flavors. Its just not the same. Maybe the new owners are trying to save money but I don’t recommend going about it this way. Moti use to have a following, a good following. Your going to lose people if you continue to scrimp on the items that add flavor to the dishes. Plus-whats up with the paper menus? Maybe you will read this and change back to the old recipes. We will try one more time and if its the same we will not go back.

Moti recently moved to its new location, and it is still definitely worth the effort to look for it! My favorite dishes are always the rice dishes. From Chicken beryiani to the sour cherry polo — the quality of the dish is always present. The new location with the outdoor seating was a must for me during the summers. While I was there, they were still doing minor fixes to place, but it seems like it’ll be on its way to be the spot for good Mediterranean food from the changes explained to me by the staff. Prices are fair due to the range of offerings they have. You can spend $ 10, or $ 30 depending on what you get as with most places. You must try their hot sauce — it is absolutely unstoppable!(Don’t use too much though). They also have this energy drink made with lemon saffron that’s absolutely invigorating. I definitely stop by here every time I’m back at Amherst.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here Friday night and were not only blown away by the food, but the service. Tucked away by Antonio’s alley in Amherst, Moti is a little hidden gem, the atmosphere of which was a pleasant surprise. It’s a bit on the smaller side with both table seating and a bar, an intimate setting with gorgeous, though minimal, décor. Our waitress was incredibly helpful when it came to menu suggestions. We ordered a special for the night, a jalapeño feta hummus that had the right amount of kick without being overpowering. We both ordered the Famous NY Chicken and Lamb, a decent sized bowl filled with basmati rice and chopped chicken, lamb, pita and lettuce with a yogurt ranch sauce. The flavor was outstanding and the ingredients were both portioned and cut just right. We also couldn’t pass up a side of French fries tossed in truffle oil and Rosemary. Though they came with ketchup our waitress suggested tzatziki sauce to dip them in and, boy, did she get it right! All in all for two alcoholic drinks, a quite large app, two dinners of very filling portions, and tzatziki sauce and an extra order of pita bread which we were both not charged for, we spent about $ 45, a much cheaper night than most we have out. I highly recommend Moti for a delicious meal, a romantic night out, a casual night out, or if you’re in the mood to try something new!
