Wow. This place blew me away! My boyfriend and I just stopped in on our way home from the ferry station and I honestly wasn’t expecting much given the remote location. I was happily mistaken! The meat is phenomenal: tasty, tender and smokily perfect. Sides were delicious as well. The honey bbq sauce is to die for. My boyfriend has one of the sandwiches and said that the bread is perfectly buttered and toasted, complimenting the flavorful meat perfectly. We will be stopping by every time we’re in town!

Love this place! It’s our go-to whenever we visit Anacortes. Wonderful food, both breakfast and lunch. Don’t be disappointed if you get there and every seat is filled. Worth waiting or coming back! Friendly staff, great food… enough said!

Stopped for some BBQ when passing thorough on the motorcycle. Great meal for a roadside stop. Seating left something to be desired but it’s a BBQ truck.

First time here and Fletcher, the owner, is a great guy as is the staff. I had biscuits & gravy with eggs and the gravy was awesome! They make everything from scratch and grind their own meat, etc. Fidalgo Bay coffee(yum) to drink. This will be a regular stop from now on for this Lopez Islander!

Pretty amazing bbq was had by all at the water festival. We are never disappointed. They work hard to make your food fresh and to order. My friend also loved her spicy sausage. I am usually very picky about my bbq sauce but theirs was good. Thanks

We ate here on a whim during the Anacortes Water Festival, when my wife and I were too indecisive to eat at the festival itself. I had heard good things, remembering my research from the year before, about Dad’s. Boy am I glad we made the walk! First off, no it isn’t cheap. Food costs are increasing everywhere, so gone are the days of the $ 5 combo(you can’t even get that at fast food restaurants anymore). Factor in that everything is made from scratch. Yes, the caesar dressing, the hamburger buns, the sauces. That adds overheard. They use organic ingredients, wild salmon, local meat. You get the idea. For those expecting a cheap price at a diner, this isn’t your typical greasy spoon FSA-supplied diner. I had the plain jane burger, and my wife had the pastrami reuben. Everything was amazing. No, it isn’t the best burger I’ve ever had but it was damn good(they ground their own chuck), and the jojos were perhaps some of the best I’ve ever had — very crispy and soft on the inside. My wife’s reuben was unique and delicious. Smoked pastrami gave it a bit of a smoky flavor(duh), and the addition of mustard made for a very tangy smoky taste. The service is outstanding as well — they were busy and yes they didn’t refill our drinks as much as maybe we’d like, but they were very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. I hate going to a place, asking«what’s in this», and the waitstaff has no idea. Not here. I heard the waiter behind me describing a salad right down to the very last detail, and it made me want to have it even though I had just stuffed myself with my burger. I can’t wait to go back and try breakfast.

Great food, great service. They have some very interesting burgers. Love eating here now that I know the menu, my only complaint would be the menu it can be a bit awkward to read it if someone is sitting at the table under it, I would prefer another option for the menu. Can’t beat the food however.

THEBEST sandwich I have had in recent memory. Brisket Reuben. The staff is outstanding and all of the food is delicious(I’ve been here dozens of times). The folks here have figured it out. My highest recommendation.

I’ve been facing the Midwest meat dilemma since I’ve moved up to Washington, so my expectations are never usually high when I’m trying to find some kind of BBQ up here in the PNW and I always come in skeptical as a Kansas girl. This place is the best I’ve had in the Skagit Valley area. I live on Whidbey Island and it is worth the drive to Fildalgo to come here. Everything is fresh about this food truck. It tastes like it was just made and not like it’s been sitting in a steel pan warmed up. They do not cheat you when it comes to portions either. The brisket plate I ordered came with huge chunks of brisket and with the two sides and bread that come with a single meat plate I couldn’t finish. There was a line of course, so expect that as this truck makes the entire three blocks around it smell like amazing BBQ. Advice, there’s only one picnic table so either bring it home or bring a chair! I took mine down to the marina picnic tables and devoured(almost finished it) it by the water.

The Carolina and Gabe were both delicious sandwiches! Perfect ratio of meat to bun to slaw. Both the pork and the brisket were cooked just right and not dry like most attempts at BBQ. Hope this truck can get a dine-in location!

Went here for lunch and the place was packed… good sign! Had the beef brisket and potato wedges with side of ranch. All I can say is… it was beyond delicious. The brisket was so flavorful and perfectly bbq’d, the potato wedges were large and went perfect with the most amazing ranch! They make their own ranch and was like no other. I wish they sold it by the bottle. My husband had the bacon jarlsberg cheeseburger. He usually grades a place based on their cheeseburgers and it’s quality. He said it far surpassed his expectations and and that Dads diner is at top of list for best place to dine. It’s not surprising that their food and meats are so delicious… they grind their own meat for burgers, brisket bbq’d to perfection, homemade BBQ sauce and ranch, and the perfect atmosphere.

We came here after kayaking for 3 hours and it was the perfect place to re-fuel. Dad’s had such a friendly and laid back atmosphere which we certainly welcomed as we collapsed exhausted at the table. Though the menu appears to have your average fare(burgers, sandwiches etc), do not be fooled! Everything they make is turned up 10 notches and quite gourmet. I had the Gorgonzola bacon cheeseburger and it blew my mind. It was absolutely delicious. The burger was cooked well, but the star of the show was the melted gorgonzola. My fiancé had the open faced roast beef sandwich and he said it was probably one of the best he had ever had. The gravy that they put on it is NO joke. I could literally eat that on it’s own. We had such a great experience here. The next time I find myself in Anacortes, I will most definitely be back here.

I mean, yeah, the BBQ is off the charts good. But come here for the burger. I promise you, you will not be disappointed! The brioche bun, incredibly tasty meat, sweet pickle, diced onions and your choice of cheese(I like Jarlsberg) makes for one if the best hamburgers I’ve EVER had in my 43 years. I might mix it up from time to time with the Cuban sandwhich or the Philly cheese steak… But that burger has my heart. My heart and my expanding waist line. Whoops! I meant to post this to the Dad’s Diner– but accidentally posted to the Go Go. I’ve had both and recommend them highly!

Everything I have had is fabulous. Delicious flavor and they make several different kinds of bbq sauce.yum. When I went, they had the Carolina, Memphis, peach habanero, and spicy root beer. My favorite is the brisket. $ 11 for a pound of brisket? Oh yesss. A definite place to visit, your taste buds will be happy you did!(And I got my parents hooked on this place!)

Well… What can I say… I mean I don’t like what everybody in the NW calls BBQ. I travel a lot and I say Memphis and the Carolina’s have the market on good BBQ, with the exception of this little stand. This place could go toe to toe with some of the greats like Jacks or even Neely’s. Thank you for bringing BBQ done right to our neck of the woods!
