The food has improved a lot from the old days. Drinks are quality and tasty. Happy hour menu fun to order from; I like the cheese stuffed mushrooms quite a bit. Only true waterfront dining in Anacortes. Family owned for years and dad has passed the mantle to the daughters.

Secret Cove is our go-to Date place. Upstairs in the bar for Happy Hour — good prices, good reliable food, wonderful owner and staff!

I think the Secret Cove need to really keep this a secret. Oysters on a half shell were not that great, Clam chowder tasted like they added mushroom soup to it and was difficult to find clams but potatoes were plentiful. Probably the worst Clam Chowder I have ever had. There clam chowder could not even compete with Bob’s chowder bar or Anthony’s. Heck, it would not even qualify for the competition! Beer battered tacos was a mistake! Domestic bottled beer $ 4.00 each! Place did not seem too clean. Servers were friendly and nice to talk to but definitely need some serious training. Even with the fantastic view I would not return to this restaurant even if the meal was free.

Great view of the seals and gumis island. The burgers are pretty good and the beer is cold. The restaurant isn’t the cleanest, but it seems to be an ok place to stop when in Anacortes.

Great cod tacos. Beautiful view. Friendly staff. Fish and chips excellent I’d choose cod over halibut for price reasons. We sat outside but you could sit inside.

Extremely medicore at best. Processed meats, stale tortillas, nothing fresh and left me feeling weird. Don’t waste your money.

Not favorably impressed. Very slow service. Took 35 minutes just to get water on the table. Food ranged from an average clam starter to a burnt burger to greasy fish & chips. The room we were seated in was stark, lacking ambiance and the chairs were hard and uncomfortable. This was the second time here for two in our party and they had similar results the first time around. The view is nice though, making us truly wish the owners/management would turn things around.

We had a group of 4 adults 2 children and a teen. From the get go either the water pitcher was dirty or the cup were because they all had floatys in them. It took at least 20 minutes to get our drinks and we were there for almost an hour to get our food. Our food was cold or hard. Fries were soggy and there were towel fibers in the food of one of the children. I wouldn’t recommend going there for food and don’t plan on returning.

Great time for Sunday brunch. Prices are perfect and kids half off. They make waffles to order. They also make fresh omelets to order. I loved my shrimp as spinach omlet. They even serve a lovely salad n fruit bar. I also love the fresh cinnamon rolls and deserts.

What is not to love about Secret Cove? It is literally located in a secret cove. They have really good chili which you can enjoy while looking at the Guemes channel on one side and several reflections of yourself in the mirrored wall on the other. The nautical decorating seems to be from the 60s and is a color scheme of white and deep blue. Purrfect.

One waitress, raw oysters not in shell, wilted salad. Mussels and clam dinner horrible. Bread with my butter. Long wait. To sum it up the only thing good on the menu was the wine.

Went here on a recommendation and had a wonderful dinner. I have heard good and bad from locals but I was told the fish fry was the best in town and my husband really liked and I ordered a salad and it was very good. I would go again.

I went there for lunch with my Mom last Saturday and was NOT impressed at all! First, we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant(though one of them left soon after we sat) It took a good 15 – 20 minutes to serve just our drinks(soda no less!) Then close to an hour from our arrival to get our food! And mine was burnt!!! :-(I chose not to ask to have it re-made for time constraints… But I certainly won’t return.

As others have stated, the location is great, the food is not. Our first clue should have been when the crab cakes came with a simple tartar sauce, and not an aioli. The net effect was pretty bland. For the main course, I had the Seafood Pasta, which was alright, though the garlic bread was so butter soaked I couldn’t eat it. My wife’s halibut was pretty tasteless, as was the sauce that went with it. Her«garlic» mashed potatoes clearly came from the same Sysco truck as the bowling alley’s, and were also pretty taste/texture free. On a $ 23 dish, I would expect them to actually peal a potato and mash it themselves. On the plus side, the service was outstanding, and the berry mojito stiff and tasty. It’s too bad the action in the kitchen wasn’t up to the standard set out front. We won’t be back without a major improvement in the kitchen.

Went to this restaurant based on a recommendation from a local. It is hidden off the main part this small seaside town of Anacortes. But what a great place to eat!!! The service was knowledgeable, friendly and made the experience a lot of fun. The view of the harbour is also second to none in the area, we sat up on the upper deck. Their food is all fresh and made on premise everyday. I had the Crab Ultimate and Clam Chowder, which was amazing. The portion was large but too much, which left me feeling like I got my monies worth. If you ever in the area, I would highly recommend it…

Secret Cove is a hidden treasure. This restaurant is totally worth the little bit of effort to find. Slightly off the beaten path of Commercial’s same ol’ restaurants you’ll find this locally owned and run restaurant nestled on a cove on the Guemes Channel. The staff is friendly and knowledgable, prices are very reasonable and the menu is just the right size with items that will appeal to everyone. Last night we sat on their new lower patio, it was warmed by their new gas fireplace and protected by the wind with glass fencing. So beautiful! A must visit!
