I’ve been having breakfast at this location since I was in diapers. American breakfast for sure. Very inexpensive!

I love that the most expensive item is $ 10. IHOP starts at $ 10. The meals are large enough to be filling without being stuffed or taking any home. Great service. Fast food. Nice little spot for breakfast that hits the spot!

Wow. Been coming here for the longest and just now I asked for a receipt and the lady threw the reciept at me in front of my kids. They need to fire the Asian waitress. Will never come back. Plus she did it in front of the manager. Can’t believe she did not tell her anything. I’m done with this place. Horrible service. Save yourself the bad experience. Pancake house across the street.

YUCK! Cockroach on the floor!!! It took two people to take our drink order and they still got it wrong, they were understaffed, the restrooms were out of toilet paper, the food was cooked wrong, the silverware was dirty, and to top it off there was MOLD in the creamers!!! our food took 45 minutes and the servers attitudes were terrible! Never again! DONOTGOHERE!

The only good things was the Orange juice, the water cup and the bacon. Other than that I wouldn’t come back. They took over an over to bring our food and it wasn’t very tasty.

I read the reviews so I didn’t expect great service but I was surprised at just how bad it was. No one greeted us, the waitress walked away mid drink order and a bus boy slapped down some water glasses. The food took forever, was over cooked, and to call it mediocre would be generous. Another employee just came up and took our plates without asking if we were done. I was happy for the meal to be over… then we waited over 15 minutes for the bill. Not a chance I’ll be back.

Called in the breakfast deal(though it was 4:25pm) because it was cheap & I was in a hurry. Well, apparently you get what you pay for. Dry bacon. Hash browns were ok I guess. Eggs were average. Biscuit & gravy was decent. Like I said, get what you pay for. Problem is service. Guy paying before me got hassled by waitress for no tip, then she looked at me & said, «What you want?» For realz? Should’ve left then but was starving & she walked away before I could let her have it. She called over another lady, who was much nicer & said she made sure pepper was not in the gravy as I asked. I tipped her in part to let the other lady know there’s a way to go about it. I left, then realized the«nice» lady that I tipped, shorted me on the change she owed me. I still got out of there for like $ 6& had enough food to keep me full for another couple hours. If you go, just don’t expect much.

Gone downhill. Owner has cut back on quality. Last time I was there they just watered down their gravy instead of making a new batch. Sucks, I use to love this place.

I liked the food. Pretty decent portions. Definitely didn’t have to wait and it was perfect for my budget. It did however take the woman a long time to come check on us and bring us the check. I’ll probably go back but I wont leave a tip because of the fact that the woman asked for a tip as we were leaving. I hate when waitresses ask for a tip.

The food was good and it’s definitely gentle on the wallet/pocketbook but the customer service was quite average and they were unprofessional by asking for a tip while paying. It didn’t help that this place is cash only. Not a bad place to go for take-out though. P. S. Excuse the photo I was trying to set up my profile.

We just left this place after our first time there and we were very pleasantly surprised, so of course I need to tell people about it. We’re trying to experience new places every week until we find some good local restaurants to make a regular list of places we like to go eat at the end of a day. This one definitely makes the list. Be aware that this place is apparently known by a couple of different names. For example, some signs out front say«Stewart’s Coffee Shop» and some say«Busy Apron». Then again, some signs say«Stewart’s Busy Apron». Depending which way you approach it on Lincoln you may see any version of the name but it’s all the same restaurant at 1221 East Lincoln. Do you like«quaint», «retro», «googly» or «space-age atomic» type places? This has bits of all that, and it’s looked this way since those styles were around the first time. I like it, and it fits this restaurant just fine. We were greeted immediately and told to sit wherever we wanted. We got a big booth right in front near the door. There were only about 4 or 5 other parties in the place on an early Saturday evening. Waitress was 100% on the ball. She’s been there forever and knows what to do. She was conversational but expedient and didn’t stop working the whole time we were there. Food was top-notch coffee shop food, better than most by far. Salad was fresh and as a surprise was topped with croutons that were obviously home made. YUM! Navy bean soup was deliciously simple, and a coffee shop classic done perfectly. We had a roast beef dinner and the fried chicken dinner. Frankly, they were both superb. Why can’t other restaurants serve their food HOT like this? My God, it’s been ages since I’ve had the soup, entrée, sides and bread all served at the right temperature. BIG portions! Piled-high roast beef, a big mound of potatoes and gravy, plenty of green beans, 4 pieces of fried chicken. By the way, that chicken was wonderful. I can tell they bread it themselves. Very nice! After all that, and those generous dinner portions… we got ice cream included, too! Even the ice cream was a huge portion, more than I serve myself at home. Our total bill was $ 18.79, and we left a $ 3 tip. I couldn’t fix it at home for that price. If you haven’t gone, you should. Enjoy this place for what it is… a vintage coffee shop… and for what it does, which is great food for a very fair price. THANKS!

The food was delicious, but don’t expect any allowance on substitutes. I don’t eat meat and couldn’t replace it with fruit or anything else, because that’s not what the menu says. The waitress(Pam?), bless her heart, tried to help me out, but she was told no go. Ended up just giving the meat to my boyfriend. Their prices are awesome, Denny’s who?! But the quality of the food, definitely reflects higher prices. My boyfriend and I were both very pleased with our breakfasts. The décor is awesome, reminds me of the old Huntington Beach mall. Service was great and super friendly. Took a little while to get our food, but there was a nice steady stream of customers and again, the food was totally worth the wait. Speaking of customers, it was refreshing and surprising to see a nice eclectic group of patrons. Many of which seemed to be regulars, as they called out greetings and goodbyes to the staff, using their names and big friendly smiles. Can’t wait to go back… and must remember: CASHONLY!

My husband and I went yesterday and Tracy was our waitress, she was pretty nice and gave good service. Good prices for a cheap meal. Old school coffee shop atmosphere. So my husband went back this morning to get some breakfast. He sat at the counter and the waitress ignored him. She brought the food to the man seated next to him and did not even speak. When he finally asked the bus boy if there was anyone waiting on that area, the busboy told the waitress he was ready to order. She told the busboy to take his order. When she finally brought the food, slammed the plate down and still did not speak. When I complained to the manager and asked the waitress’s name, she refused to tell me her name and denied her behavior. So, good food, HORRID service.

Why you walk in: You’re in mood for some cheap american breakfast. Before you walk in: The parking lot greets you with plenty of space and big closed door thats reminiscent of an old Chinese restaurant Just when you get in: you’re greeted with one of their many hosts who offer you to take any open table. Before you sit down: you notice the décor of the place is that of an old diner, infact that’s exactly what it is While you sit down: you notice the tables are kept clean and busy with plenty of condiments. Before you order: you notice that you can see the cooks through the window cooking. Almost all the dishes look the same coming out; A big plate full of stuff. You also notice that the Menu is large, very large. Breakfast specials menu comes to the rescue. Basically eggs, some kinda of bread, some kind of starch, some kinda bread(sweet this time), cured meats, couple of other things are mixed in various combinations to create a large set of menu entries. Before you eat: you see that food is plentiful and that you won’t go home hungry. The food itself is alright, the eggs okay, mostly undercooked with egg whites still watery. The Bacon is extra crispy and salty, the sausages are tiny and salty. Pancakes are nice and fluffy. French toast is a toast with eggs coated on the outside if you know what I mean. Overall the foods okay compared to what you pay. Before you pay and get the hell out: you notice that they have one of the oldest cash registers that you’ll ever see and also that they only accept CASH. You also notice going away that their giant Chinese décor door has a Cash only sign, sigh!

I came here for brunch with my boyfriend after a long night! Not going to lie, this place looked kind of sketchy, and we were set on not coming here, but we decided to give it a try! We got a huge booth to ourselves and immediately got two cups of fair trade coffee. Upon the first sip I was convinced it was water with coffee flavoring, but it was actually pretty good! For brunch, I got sausages wrapped in pancakes and topped with cinnamon sugar! Sausage, pancakes, and cinnamon sugar = what not to like?! It was a party in my mouth! One thing I would recommend is that the size of the pancake wrapped around 1.5 times, so too much pancake in proportion to the sausage! Otherwise, pretty darn good, so reasonably priced! I probably won’t be back, but it isn’t as bad as it looks — give it a try!

Not entirely certain how this place has higher than a 2. I went there probably 20 times over a few month period as it was right next to one of our job sites, and every meal was horrible. I don’t like writing bad reviews unless I feel wronged by a place personally cause I figure«eh, they aren’t bad people why flamethrower them on the internet, they are just doing their best.» Anyways suffice it to say i had about every easy item on the menu in regards to breakfast… cause who could screw up breakfast(i always say), but they found a way. Every single dish I ordered made me regret it. And the few times I forayed out of breakfast territory those lunch items were horrible as well. It got to the point that I had to finally put my foot down to my co-workers/co-breakfast havers that I will never go there again. And I haven’t. AND I’m the type of person to just go there when other people wanna go there and never say ANYTHING, so that should tell you something more about how much I didn’t like this place. To be fair this may have changed in the last 2 years since I have been, so judge for yourself. But as I was thinking this morning about horrible restaurants people have made me go to in the past it motivated me to write this review. So take that for what it is worth. *PS I realize the internet was created to flamethrower good and bad people anonymously…

If you are on a budget– this place is a win, but if you get the coffee drink your 1.75 worth, because thats how they charge 3.99 for your breakfast! I chose the busy apron option over Stewarts because the menu’s say busy apron… I liked everything– The asian lady behind the counter was super nice too! I watched some olympics and drank coffee– it was a very peaceful atmosphere.
