Celebrated my brother’s and future sister-in-law’s engagement at GOTO. They were visiting from Brooklyn and requested Filipino food. Remembering that we enjoyed the midweek lunch buffet several times before, we thought we would try the night time menu. A great cover band played pop songs from the 70’s(America, Eagles…) as we started off with appetizers(lumpia shanghai and fried calamari). We ordered platters of meat and seafood, some veggie dishes, garlic and steamed rice. All came out quickly, one after the other. Fried banana in a wrapper with ice cream and halo halo for dessert… Our party of 20+(I never count) had an overall fun time. The food was okay, not so out-of-this-world that it made me forget my name.(The food was too salty for me.) The best part was the attentive, friendly service, harmonious live band and basketball shooting game in the back. The food, however, served family style, was well-presented.

I haven’t written a review in awhile because of the new addition to our family but I just couldn’t stay away any longer and just had to say something about this place. Let me just say that this place had the worse Filipino food I have ever had!!! It deserves no stars! It sucks! We stopped here since it was on the way home and ordered some items to go. They handed me a bag with very small to go containers! I asked if that was it and the attendant said yes. WTF!!! Ok so maybe it would taste good at least, but HELLNO it didn’t! What a waste of time and money to stop here! I WOULDNOTRECOMMENDTHISJOINTTOANYONE!

I just moved to Anaheim and wanted to show my friends what Filipino food is like, so I really had high hopes when I decided to bring them here… bad decision. We walked in and it was empty, and no one greeted us until after we sat ourselves. When I started to tell the waiter our order, he says they’re out of the lumpia appetizer because they didn’t get their shipment in yet… Hmmmm… well, okay. We had the chicken adobo, which came with steamed rice, and pancit of course. Both were very«mehh» in flavor, and I’ve had so much better before. I was disappointed :(I saw the owners talking, and they seem like a very nice family, but… I’m sure much better places are around Anaheim or Orange County.

My husband actually found this place on here and read the comments so we went last night. They had a taco stand outside so that was interesting, a filipino restaurant with a taco stand. Anyways, when we got there, there was hardly anyone actually maybe two ppl and that’s it. I can understand it was slow because it was a weekday. There were still serving buffet but the buffet didn’t look so good so we ordered from the menu. We ordered calamari, kare kare, pinakbet(veggies), and crispy pata oh and tacos too… the calamari and pinakbet was really good, i only ate a little bit of kare kare but i didn’t really like it. the crispy pata i also ate a little bit but there was so many fat on there. The tacos was surprisingly good too. The lady who helped us i guess she was the owner, she was telling us that friday and saturday would be best days to come since they have karaōke and live band, she was really nice. Overall our first experience was just OK. We’ll probably check this place out again on the weekend.

Not impressed. Minimal menu. We left. Maybe I’ll try this place again someday, but I was pretty irked that I drove so far to be so let down. The buffet sounded wonderful in the reviews, but we came after the lunch rush and the buffet appeared pretty much untouched. I think what bothered me most was that they have seasonal items on the menu. They aren’t really seasonal, they are just available on the weekends… why don’t they just put that on the menu?

I went here with my mom around 12:30pm lunch time. it wasnt all and there was not as much food as I extended but they taste decent. The waitress is very friendly and helpful. my mom tipped her $ 5. There were 4 main dishes and a soup, a dessert, and fried rice/white.rice. We got the halo-halo it was okay but when I asked if I could order a cup of ice cream they said they dont serve just ice cream, I GOTSODISAPPOINTED…

Had the garlic fried rice, lumpia shanghai, and the sisig. The garlic fried rice and lumpia were ok. The sisig was terrible. They chopped up the meat so small that you barely taste it. It is not very crispy and it is super oily. It does not compare to Ellens Pinoy Grille or magic Wok. I might go back to try the crispy pata. The place is pretty nice and on thursday nights there is a person grilling tacos in front.

I’m being nice by giving this place 3 stars. I’ve had this place bookmarked for awhile, and finally, I get to go here after some glowing reviews. To be honest, I was very unimpressed and unsatisfied. They had their food in crockpots for crying out loud and some of their food wasn’t even hot! They had fried fish, meatball with an egg inside, white rice, garlic rice, pork adobo, sausage, soup, and a couple of other things. This is by no means what I call a buffet. For the price you pay, $ 6.99…I guess you get what you pay for. On Thursday nights, they have someone grilling tacos in front. Those tasted better than the actual food. Sorry for being so harsh, it’s because I had high expectations. Perhaps I should maybe go for the non-buffet food items. Or maybe not.

Unfortunately I was not pleased with the food. The noodles were very oily and no meat. The lumpia was americanized egg roll.

This place is just awesome! I love the food — calamari, sisig, nilagang baka, kare kare, lomi, tokwa’t baboy atbp. Yummy!!! The owner and the servers are all nice and friendly. The buffet is very affordable! I also like their breakfast. After working nights, I’d eat breakfast here because it’s already open past 7am. And of course, karaōke nights are always the best!

Pretty good Filipino food! The lunch buffet(6.99 w/soda) is a great deal! At the buffet they have pork adobo, white rice, garlic rice, very yummy soup(forget the name), even fish and a fruit and salad bar. The staff is very friendly. The lumpia was also good. Would come back. PS Get the Halo Halo here!!! See my pic!

I love this place. The owners are quite sweet. They only serve wine & beer, no hard liquor. The karaōke experience at this place is awesome, like no other! I recommend this place 100%.

NOCOMPLAINTS. So far. A «hole in the wall» restaurant that serves«upon order» food. Staff are friendly & atmosphere is great. Owners also interact with their customers, which makes this place all the more welcoming. Food is delicious and price is reasonable =) **update** So my mom celebrated her birthday here. They closed down the restaurant for our private party. EVERYTHING was up to par. The service was great, food was great, & even their hosts for the night were great(they do have a stage for those that like to bust out their karaōke talent lol). All in all, GREATEXPERIENCE at this place.

Grill of the Orient is a new Filipino owned Karaōke and hangout spot in West Anaheim along West Ball Rd at the corner of dale. We discovered this place last night and a group of 5 of us decided to give it a try. The food is reasonably priced for a sit down establishment and is even running a 99 cents menu for a small snack. So far everything that we tasted was freshly made and delicious. It offers Filipino dishes like Crispy Pata, Sisig, Papaitan, and other grilled food. We ordered the Sisig at our table and it came steaming hot. The taste was very good and was great to eat while we laughed and had a great time out. I would recommend this place to anyone is the West Anaheim area who likes to sing and enjoys live entertainment.
