I went to The Ranch Saloon with my wife for the first time, and I was shocked by how classy the saloon was. I’ve been to a lot of country dancing saloons in So-Cal and Texas, and The Ranch in Anaheim is one of the best! It has a family friendly atmosphere, and a Family Night promotion on Sunday Nights, and after the Teeny Boppers have gone home, lots of serious country dancing fans of both sexes are there till closing. I highly recommend the Ranch Saloon to novice and expert Country Dancing and Country Music fans.

Great fun. Celebrated my wife’s Birthday had a great time! The staff were very nice and attentive to our small group of 10. We only had a reservation for 6 but as our group got a little bigger a a bouncer came to talk to us. We assumed they were unhappy but No they just asked if they could adjust the table to give us more seats. Defiantly made us feel like we choose the right place. Good times and fun atmosphere

My cousins took me here for my birthday. We sat in the saloon area on a Saturday night. There was a spend minimum that we hit quite easily. They actually did give us the option to order off the restaurant menu but we decided to forgo it because there were items on the saloon menu we wanted to try. Lucky for us though that ribeye is on both. That was awesome. Also — the beet salad was delish. I also very much enjoyed the line dancing! I had never been before but was able to wing my way through a few of them, and totally nailed the Electric Slide — the dance I never knew how much I loved until it was the only one I could do that night! Our server was a little slow, but that was only drawback.

I am open to trying new things including country music and line dancing. A huge group of us got together to celebrate a birthday but apparently fun(and learning) are not allowed. An God forbid if you linger on the dance floor to the side, out of the way of the dances for two seconds to try and figure out what the dance steps were. They call it «Structured» dancing… I am sure that is what Hitler would call it too. I have never been kicked off the dance floor before now for reasons that did not include drunken debauchery. So after nearly closing the place down and spending a chunk of change, we thought we could just freestyle dance off to the side. There were only 4 people on the dance floor at the time and they certainly did not need all that space, right? WRONG! No dancing. We were not the only group trying to dance that got kicked off the floor. The band and service was great! They should take the awesomeness elsewhere. So if you hate fun and being discouraged from trying to learn line dancing, then by all means head to The Ranch Saloon.

Had a large group in the saloon for my wife’s birthday celebration. Apparently there are dancing police. If you aren’t up to their standard, the d-bag owner will instruct them to remove you from the dance floor. No joke. My wife, her sister and mother, all professional and grown up women, were seriously trying to learn the steps respectfully and off in a back corner of the dance floor. The bouncer kept yelling at them that they were doing the steps wrong and finally told them to leave the dance floor. I was about to go down and speak to the bouncer when the manager came up and asked me if there was an issue. Looking around the room, I then realize the three booths in the center of he bar facing the band stand was the owner and he has a goon with cameras in front of him so that he can monitor everyone’s activities. I proceeded to give the manager a piece of my mind about the dance police. He then told me it came directly from d-bag owner. My next suggestion was that if the ladies in our group weren’t allowed to dance that I would take my business and $ 1000 tab elsewhere. and the owner could stick it in any region he wanted south of the Mason Dixon line. He left them alone for the rest of the night, but clearly is a snob in cowboy boots. Good job OC cowboy. We won’t be coming back ever, even though we would normally frequent this type of establishment. Moral of the story: Find a new client that clearly has expendable income, brings large groups with more pretty women than men, have him spend a ton of cash and then piss him off by offending his wife, her mother and sister so he never returns. He then tells his equestrian friends and neighbors, Unilocal the heck out of it, and so on… Great business model. BTW, Katie, our server, was nothing short of amazing.

Best Little Rip-Off In Anaheim– A few weeks ago, out of the blue, my better half and a girlfriend of hers came up with the idea of going«line dancing». Can’t say that’s something that interests me but okay, Brad Johnson from the OC Register gave the Ranch stellar reviews for their steaks so whom am I to say no. When we made the reservation, we specifically said we wanted a view of the dance floor and they mentioned they don’t have views from the table as it’s on another side of the building but we can walk over. What they could have said is «that’s a totally separate space and not part of the restaurant at all» so we wouldn’t have been shell shocked that after spending $ 400 for dinner that we can’t get a table at the saloon side for under an additional $ 250 table minimum! When I asked if I can transfer my now new bar tab at the Saloon($ 100) to the $ 250 table minimum they said«No you can’t transfer, you have to start a new tab.» This is not the type of place I would go with friends to blow $ 1G, best part of the night was leaving. Our mistake for not realizing it’s two separate places in the same restaurant, but how about explaining that when we first make the reservation saying that we wanted a table by live entertainment. Total failure on both sides of the establishment, to quote a country singer Johnny Paycheck, they can take that place and sh*** it. PS– The steaks were meh for a steakhouse.

Definitely our favorite spot to linedance and two step in Orange County. Was able to go tonight for the first time in a while and the music was awesome! A group of us were standing around between songs(including my pregnant wife) and Frank, one of the Ranch staff, went out of his way to find her a place to sit down. We love the ambiance, music, community, food, and drinks that this place has. A way classier and upscale establishment that some of the other line dancing places around and the only one we spend our time at!

The ranch saloon is amazing!!! Beautiful place, great music, tasty appetizers and excellent cocktails. Our server was on it!!! Never left us waiting… The ranch doesn’t look like much when you pull up but once you step inside its by far the nicest place in Orange County. Can’t wait to try the restaurant, I hear the steaks are unbelievable. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Came here for a work dinner, which is completely not the best place to talk business, but so fun otherwise! Food was awesome, appetizers were amazing: fried pickles, deviled eggs, fries, chicken fingers, and the fluffy bread with jam was the best(sorry, don’t remember the name). Granted, I was coming off of a 3 day cleanse, so I might be biased, but there was a large group and everyone liked the food. I ordered the lobster salad, and it was delicious. It was light, bright, and lots of lobster. Also tried the deconstructed mars bar and wow… totally worth the unaccustomed sugar rush. The saloon is pretty cool, but I do think the bar area might be a bit crowded. It gets louder as the night goes on since there’s a space for dancing in the middle of the room, and people really country line dance. It’s fun to watch and there are some great dancers out there. There was a dance off competition for tickets to stagecoach that night so it was fun to watch the boot stomping, twirlin’, and hair whipping. Worth it to check out with friends who don’t hate country music or like to people watch!

Came here in a Saturday night and asked to purchase a table. I was told by the reception/cashier that they were sold out for the evening. She proceeded to tell me the prices for the tables anyway. A bunch of the tables didn’t have names on them so I asked if I could do anything to be put on a waiting list of sorts to pay for a table if one became available. I was told again, no they were all sold out. My friend was then offered a table(for a fee) and was told they had tons of tables available by a worker on the floor. The ones that said reserved but had no names were available. This was minutes after I’d tried to even get on a hypothetical list and was rejected. We only had to spend 400 minimum while at the table. The drinks were cheap at least. Thanks but no thanks. I don’t like feeling like I’m discriminated against just because I don’t fit the look of your establishment. I was willing to spend way more here and didn’t.

This review is only about the bar. I have been to a lot of country bars and honkey tonks around the U.S. This is no country bar… It is a tiered restaurant with a small dance floor. Hell they play rap music during the band breaks. Wranglers and boots are pretty sparse. It is mostly 20 something line dance and freestyle dance place. There is no place to sit/stand and the bouncers are constantly moving people around like cattle. The band was fantastic, but the problem with this place is one of design. Overall a nice place if you aren’t expecting to be in a real country bar.

Friends wanted to do some country dancing so we decided to come to this spot since they had a little class prior to the actual line dancing started for folks to put their hats and cowboy boots on try out a few moves. Came here on a Friday evening and since it’s right door to the Ranch Restaurant, parking lot of full in the front, but if you head towards the side of the main parking lot, there is an additional parking lot you can park at for free. Once you’re at the front door, left side is for the restaurant(where lots of people were coming in and out of) and the right hand side is more the saloon with food and dancing & of course, drinks! Admission is $ 5 to get in but after that, you can do as much dancing as you want either in the group classes/country dance off they have up front on the main dancing floor, or you can just observe from the many seating area of the place eating fried food doused in some form of alcohol to drinking it in the liquid form. Since it’s so busy, service can either be a hit or a miss. Majority of the time, since people are leaving their tables to go dancing, the tables are empty then refilled as the song is over; so you can’t expect the servers to know if you need a refill, more food, or something unless they’ve actively sought out. Best to leave at least one person watching your stuff if you guys all plan to bust some moves on the dance floor. YEE-HA!

The management is extremely rude. My fiancé and I came to the ranch to celebrate a friend’s new job. Our friend had reserved a table for our group and she had more people than expected come for dinner. She politely asked if we could have a couple more chairs to seat everyone at our table. Management said no, while the table next to us was empty and with 10 chairs shoved around it. Fine, we ordered our dinner with part of group standing and sitting around the table.(At this point no one had a problem still taking our food order and money) When everyone’s dinner came we used two empty chairs from the empty table to sit with our group and eat our dinner. While we were finishing our dinner(meal still in front of us) Brad the manager came up and I quote«did you guys take those chairs without asking… um yes you did.» Scolding us like we were 5year olds. He then proceeds to tell us that we can continue to use them until the other group comes. After feeling extremely uncomfortable, my fiancé and I just got up from the table and he cleared our plates. The rest of our group was still eating their meals. After this happened, My friend and I asked to speak to the manager at the front of the restaurant. Brad again shows up. As we explain how he treated us, he begins to argue with us and tell us, «you guys were disrespectful for taking the chairs without asking». He argues with us for about 5 mins, never apologizing for handling the situation in a rude manner and his poor customer service. Meanwhile, the party of people that he had«reserved» these chairs for still hadn’t shown up. When they finally do(30mins later), they stayed for maybe 45mins and only ordered a few drinks. While my group was there for maybe a good 4 hours, ordered drinks and food. …umm you do the math! I totally get that they have rules for their tables. But they are also a business that SHOULD be working toward excellent customer service. At this point of the night, they seemed to be only serving customers that weren’t even there and then being rude and not accommodating to the customers that were present and spending money at their establishment. Let’s just say, my fiancé and I will never be returning to The Ranch. We will not be spending money in an establishment that will treat you so poorly while eating THEIRMEALS. I have never had a manager speak the way the Ranch’s manager spoke to me, EVER! I don’t understand how you can be a manager of a restaurant/company and reasonably think that talking to your customers that way is acceptable, under any circumstance. From what has been posted ALOT on Unilocal is the rude behavior of the staff is completely condoned and backed up with excuses/policies/rules as why their rudeness is justified. So very sad. I understand when you have a patrons come in who are drunk and rude and you have to deal with them in a certain manner. But the group that I was with was none of those things. We came to the ranch to eat dinner, order a couple of drinks, and enjoy our night. After this experience, we did not.

INCREDIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE!!! I reserved a table for my boyfriend’s birthday for a group of 8. It would be our second time coming to the Ranch Saloon. It was such a fun and friendly environment the first time that we had to come back. Our second visit… AMAZINGCUSTOMERSERVICE! My bf took out his Invisalign to enjoy the yummy food and wrapped them up in a table napkin(which I warned him not to do). The wait staff was very attentive and were great at keeping our table clear… So naturally they threw out his Invisalign by accident while we were on the dance floor. THEYTOOKTHETIMETOLOOKBACKATTHESECURITYCAMERASANDDUGTHROUGHTHETRASHTOLOOKFORIT! My bf was so bummed but they assured us that they’d do everything they could to find it. THEYFOUNDIT and even brought ALCOHOLSWABS for us to clean it with haha! They spent at least an hour looking for it. We couldn’t believe the effort they put into finding it. Special thanks to Brad(the manager) and his staff, particularly Reed and Jerry for personally reviewing the security camera footage and digging through the trash by hand to recover my bf’s Invisalign. Thanks to our waitress Toshia for her service. Can’t wait to come back for some more line dancing.

This is by far the most bizarre country bar I have ever been to. I’ll start by saying yes, as a lot of other reviews state, the staff is unnecessarily rude. When we drove up we find out that a friend couldn’t get in because he «came from a bar». We had just come from dinner where I watched him have 2 beers over the course of 2 hours so we thought there had to be a misunderstanding but when we walked up the door guy continued to accuse him of being intoxicated. Most people know you can’t argue with a door guy once they have decided something so we dropped it. I can’t speak for the rest of the group because I walked in alone at that point but the door guy couldn’t seem to drop his attitude. Paid the $ 10 cover and found another friend. We were almost immediately told by a staff member that we couldn’t stand where we were. This happened another 4 – 5 times and I’m still not really sure where they actually allow people to stand. The above is not my biggest problem with this place as my only reason for going here was to dance, but a certain dance is ‘called’ before each song. Essentially, if you actually country dance you are out of luck at this place. It is just line dance after line dance. I believe I counted 7 – 8 songs before they called ‘freestyle’ and people are actually allowed to dance. In the event you still want to go here to attempt to dance, the floor isn’t terrible. It’s not super slick and they don’t put out dust/sand but that makes sense now knowing it’s primarily a line dancing floor. So in conclusion, the place is nice aesthetically but with staff that seem to hate their jobs and no real dancing I wouldn’t waste my time/money going back.

The Ranch is a fun spot to check out. Complete with your line dancing, 2-stepping, freestyling to country and some modern day club music as well as everything in between! Chili cheese fries were actually very good and filling. You can grab a table or sit at a bar stool with a number, ask a waiter/waitress to get situated. Awesome country experience! 2 Step Rules: Inner circle is for newbies, its a lot slower. Outer circle is for pros, you will get trampled if you do not watch where you’re two stepping or slipping in and out of traffic. **Good News!** On Fridays(potentially others days), get there at 6pm for a 2-step lesson. They also teach a line dance. Caution: If you’re not sure how to do the 2-step, don’t get in the way of others. You might get a stink-eye or two. But for the most part, people are friendly! Friday: Before 8PM — $ 5, After 8PM — $ 10. They also have a dress code, check that out. Ladies, if you have flip-flops or gladiators, make sure they have a strap on the back or they wont let you in!

Yee-Haw Y’all! The Ranch Saloon is a TON of FUN! Came here for a birthday party and we had a big section reserved for our group. Despite this we had to wait in line for about 10 minutes and clear«security». Once we were in though, the space is pretty beautiful. HUGE dancefloor, big stage for the live band, DJ booth(designed for requests!), nice looking wait staff and a huge bar. Great lighting fills the space and every hour they offer line dancing lessons. This was invaluable for this newbie. As far as food and drink… meh…average, but I don’t think most come here for the fine dining experience. The band was fantastic and the DJ too. This place fills up pretty intensely by 10:00 pm and the crowd goes from middle aged serious country dancers, to cougars to twenty somethings. But the great thing is they are all there to honky tonk! If you are not a well versed in the Power Jam, Tush Push or Electric SLide, you better get OFF the dancefloor, this space is for serious dancers only. Lots of fun to participate but also super fun to watch. This was something totally different to do on a Saturday night, but I had a BLAST and I’m sure I burned a few calories in the process. Win+Win! Highly recommend for a fun night out with the girls, a creative date or a party. Super fun!

This is definitely an interesting place. I went here on a Friday night and this place was bumping(for a country bar). They have a huge stage in the middle with a ton of folks line dancing. I would have to say that I did not realize that there were this many people in Southern California that knew how to line dance. Overall the experience was A-OK. It is a pretty big venue and there was a live band that played pretty well. I don’t go to that many country bars so I am not sure what to expect. There is a bar that goes around the entire place. I don’t think it was as staffed as it should have been. On one side I had to wait a long time for a drink and on the other side it was fairly quick, only waiting five to seven minutes. I think if you enjoy country music, you will enjoy this place. For me it was little to big and open and I had to wait too long for drinks. I think if you enjoy line dancing and the two step on a weekend night, then you would really enjoy coming here. There were a lot of folks that really knew how to tear it up. A little too good for me to try.

The best way to describe the Ranch Saloon is with something Camellia C. said which is that she«felt like she was in an episode of Nashville.» Country is a genre of music of which I never truly understood the immense presence it has until I came to the Ranch Saloon. Everyone was grooving and kicking up their boots to the melodies of the house band. They were really impressive and able to cover anything from Daft Punk to Bruno Mars. Even though it was crowded(March 28th is the owner of the Ranch Saloon’s bday) I felt like there was enough room for everyone to have a good time. Closer to 10−11pm, there is more of a fight for seating and wall space but the dance floor, though happening, always had enough room to do an electric slide. At 7:30pm they have a line dance class where you can get Intro to Line Dancing 101. Otherwise just jump in the fray and follow the person to your left or right. I’m a wallflower when it comes to dancing at clubs but even I felt safe on the dance floor. Freestyle moments on the dance floor are the time to cut loose to hip-hop and Top 40 songs if line dancing isn’t your thing but its all just really great fun. Observations: -$ 10 cover arriving at 8:40p — Water station is available near the bar — Ladies, try not to bring a big bag as it gets in the way — Service is exceptional, the wait staff are ever present and quick with orders — Reserved tables can be had for I think at least $ 100 in purchases — One TV was playing«The Dark Knight» on TNT so immediately this place earned an extra star for me
