Met a friend here for a quick coffee meeting. Nice relatively quiet atmosphere if you want to bring your books and study or something like that. I think it would be better if they expanded the kitchen a bit. I know they have some meeting rooms that maybe you could rent or something… not sure about that. If you’re in south Anchorage and want to support a local place vs just visiting starbucks or the same old thing give it a try

Friendly employees, warm atmosphere, and LOTS of space. Something that is sorely lacking in a number of coffee shops especially when it gets busy and crowded. I ordered an Affogatto which is an espresso drink with vanilla ice cream. This has been my go-to coffee drink every time I come here. Sandwiches here are delicious and very filling. I tried the Raspberry Monte Cristo sandwich on a previous visit. It had turkey, Swiss cheese, a raspberry/cranberry sauce on French toast with powdered sugar. They just put out a new promotion for a breakfast sandwich called the Caveman. It is basically a breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon between two sausage patties. I will have to try that out if I get a serious case of the munchies and throw caution to the wind in regards to cholesterol. They have a cozy fireplace with sofas and armchairs where you can read or play board games with friends. The place is comparable to the larger coffee shops like Kaladi’s on Brayton and Jewel Lake for studying and meeting up with groups of people. I like the cozy, rustic atmosphere and it’s in a great location off of Old Seward and Huffman next to the Flea Market building where the old Video City used to be.

It’s a good thing I don’t live in Anchorage or this place would make me fat. The coffee cake alone is worth 5 stars!!! I have been here twice and both times had coffee cake along with my mocha. I really like that they ask ‘for here or to go’ and if it’s ‘for here’ they serve your coffee in real mugs, instead of throw away cups.

Great place to study. I had a pretty good chocolate chip oatmeal cookie and a latte. I wish the coffee had been a little warmer but it was good. The music was nice and the space is wide open. I enjoyed the little touches by the fire place and the access to water in cute jars. Clean place with a very friendly staff.

What an unexpected gem. Anchorage may have plenty of coffee shops and espresso stands, but very few of them have the cozy ambience that I want when I go to a café. This one absolutely does. Warm fireplace, comfy chairs, friendly staff — a welcome change from all the other loud, echo-y coffee shops where everyone has an attitude. The coffee’s great and the food is even better(best cinnamon buns I’ve had in Anchorage). I’ll be coming here often.

They have one of the only pull shot espresso machines in anchorage, and I have never had a better cup of coffee. They have many different slow bar brewing methods, as well as a vast variety of loose leaf teas! Very friendly and quite atmosphere. Perfect place to read a book or do some homework.

This was my first time here and I will definitely be back. Great location with a laid back atmosphere, nice selection of teas and wonderful staff. Next time I am coming for lunch! The Cranberry Monte Cristo Panini sounds amazing!

This place has an awesome laid back atmosphere, great food and great coffee. It’s a great place to have a get together with friends or to take time to escape the busy world around you. You can also rent out meeting space for your next small business meeting with reasonable prices. I would recommend for any group or personality out there! The breakfast burritos have a wonderful flavor and their pecan pie latte is a great spin on the holiday coffees offered by the competition. It’s gonna be my new holiday favorite!

I have been here 3 times now. The first time I tried for lunch they seemed short staffed and after waiting about 15 minutes to be helped I left because I had limited time. The second time I tried for breakfast and coffee. My breakfast burrito was excellent and made fresh to order. My americano was fine. I returned a few weeks later to try for lunch again. They only offer deli-style sandwiches and soup. I didn’t try the soup. I wanted a large, entrée sized salad. I expressed that to the young man when I ordered. I was invited to pick my salad ingredients off of a menu used for the sandwiches. I chose turkey, avocado, lettuce, and spinach.(yawn.there wasn’t enough variety to make a more interesting salad.) I received a small, side salad in a little cereal/soup bowl and my turkey was forgotten. I had to pick up more to eat somewhere else afterward. My daughter ordered a veggie sandwich and was pleased with it. The bread looked like it is baked in house, which is great. I’m not a sandwich person so I wont be returning for lunch. It would be great if they offered large, entrée salads such as a Caesar chicken, a cobb, or mandarine chicken for example. This is a cute café with a nice atmosphere. The food just is not exciting for lunch or dinner. I’ll return for one of those breakfast burritos, though.

Love the blended Hario Fretta — best iced coffee drink ever! Super pleased with new food offerings, including an incredible French Dip sandwich served on fresh House of Bread Cheddar Garlic… delicious!
