This is like a second home! My absolute favorite restaurant in Anchorage. They have more than just the best sushi I have ever had… they also have fantastic Korean food like Kimchi, Bibimbop, Kalbi, and more. Great service, food, and atmosphere. There’s even a beautiful coy pond inside!

Sushi rolls were simple and very good. Sashimi was some of the freshest I have had. A nice little gem in Anchorage. Sushi chef didnt say 3 words which is part of the fun for me sitting at the bar. Overall great sushi if you are looking for it at a good price, this is the place.

I drive by this place all the time on my commute to and from work, never even thought to stop. stopped for a late sushi dinner last night and was floored by how impressive this place was. We ordered 6 rolls. A couple recommended by the server(billy roll and the Calvin roll) would definitely get them again!!! The service was great, our server was so prompt and polite. Along with our rolls we got appetizers and a dessert that was really great! I will definitely be coming back to this spot!!!

I come here with friends and family and always leave satisfied. I love the sushi there, and the bento boxes. Would recommend for a nice little family dinner. 4 stars only because of the venue. It isn’t the nicest looking joint, but the food is very good and staff are really nice whenever I go in. There is never a wait! So when you go, you’ll get seated almost instantly and they are moderately fast with your food. Hope this helps.

I absolutely love Dami Sushi! They always have delicious, fresh sushi available. The price for a single special roll is worth it because they fill you up. The only critique I have here is that the older waitresses could pay a little more attention to their customers. Acknowledging and checking on your customers every once in a while to see if they need anything makes a lot of difference. Thank you.

Oh Dami, how you used to be my go to spot for sushi when heading downtown. The quality of the fish served is not good. Looking at the dishes of fishes in the cooler, at the sushi bar, you can see that the fish is old, and in some cases the flesh is separating. Sadly I did not look at the fish on display until I had finished my meal, otherwise i would not have ordered. Service is a solid 3.5 stars, quality of food is a 1 star.

I had a good experience. Was skeptical bc place was empty when I arrived but when I left it was busy. Service was flawless… maybe even too fast :) no complaints my server was spot on what everything I asleep and needed. Food I wanted something different and I ended up ordering something I get anywhere. Good flavor but wanted to get something more local. Well I chose a sushi place and not their fault. It was good. Place smells and looks clean and we’ll kept. Staff is friendly and prices are ok. Not huge value deal but on average with other sushi places in USA. I’d be back. Plus it was very convenient from my hotel Sheraton. Easy parking if needed.

I have to say this is the yummiest, most generous place! The rolls were perfect, and we got tons of samples. Sweet staff and romantic, clean setting!

We wanted to go back to Yamada but they closed on us so we thought we should give this a try. What a big different. It’s ok for sushi rolls and sashimi but cooked food is no comparison to Yamada. I ordered Kimchi Ramen and they gave me a bowl of instant ramen with Kimchi and charged me $ 12. I could have made my own top ramen at home and added kimchi for a fraction of the price . Overall it was just ok. Service was good, no complaint there. I left the whole bowl of «instant ramen» they made for me and the gal came by and asked me if I didn’t like it, I told her«you gave me instant noodle like in the package«and she just smiled and walked away. For sure I will never come back to this place.

Cute little place. Workers are very friendly and our waitress was pleasant and on point. My boys enjoyed watching the koi fish inside. We ordered the Calvin roll which we thought was pretty good. I got the teriyaki chicken combo and that was good(not the best I’ve ever had – but having a lot of teri sauce was a plus). Hubby got the teriyaki salmon and thought it was a little overcooked for his taste. Our daughter got the yakisoba with chicken and she said she would get it again. All in all it was a decent experience and I would probably opt to come here before I go back to Sushi Sushi which 2 out of 3 times the service has been very lackluster there(which although their food is very good, no one has time for crappy service).

Had the Billie rolls and they were delicious. This was my first sushi experience — I would eat it again! I also tried the sesame chicken. It was tasty, but I wish I purchased more sushi!

One of my favorite sushi joints in Anchorage. I suggest sticking with the rolls on the menu and not opting for the specials posted on the board. The specials tend to be a little odd in flavor and think it maybe Dami’s way of using up «old» items. Other than that, the food and service are fantastic!

This was a great place. Despite its unusual location(attached to the Econo Inn), the ambiance was nice. The interior was decked in the usual Japanese garb and was dark with spotlight lighting and fairly loud rock music playing. The food was good. I had the sushi which was well prepared. The teriyaki and spicy squid was great. We also had the oyster appetizer… so fresh. I’d say the only downside was the drifting smell of cigarette smoke which only came in when a large group walked in from the Inn. It was minor. At the end of our meal we had a neat surprise, fried Oreo cookies! That was a treat since we’ve never had them before. Great end to a really good dinner.

I was looking forward to trying a sushi place close to home that I hadn’t been to yet, and Dami did not disappoint. It was not a-m-a-z-i-n-g, but it was good. My husband and I stopped in last night to order take out, and I have to admit I was a little nervous when I walked in. Dami shares a building with EconoLodge and the entrance was a dated cloud of cigarette smoke… it was literally hard for me to stand the odor. The smell faded once we made it further inside Dami’s dining area, but it was still easy to pick up. Cigarette smell aside, we were greeted politely by a server and invited to have a seat while we reviewed the menu in the restaurant’s quaint but nicely-decorated interior. There were several items that sounded good(did I mention we were starving?!), but we eventually pulled it together and picked out 2 rolls, a sashimi combo, and a side of seaweed salad. I was a little surprised that miso soup did not come with our order, but the server added it for no charge(perfect). After a short wait, we were off with our loot. Everything was neatly packed, and we were home in less than 5 minutes. The miso soup was lukewarm– easily solved with a microwave– but it had good flavor, so no major complaints there. Our sashimi seemed a little soft to me, but the flavor was good, so again no dealbreaker. The rolls were well-seasoned in general, but the spicier one was topped with too much Siracha(it overpowered the rest of the flavors), and they were not tightly rolled, so I had some serious issues getting them from plate to mouth. The less spicy of the two rolls was the Viper roll, and that one was better seasoned. All in all, we had a good dinner and good service, but there is room for improvements with the food. I was not disappointed, but I will probably stick with a more reliable choice in the future.

Con: The customer service was subpar. Folks we encountered working the front of house seemed rather cold and unwelcoming. Sushi was not great. Pro: Spicy seafood noodle soup was yummy. Great for a chilly eve.

Great food, great service, and great desserts. What more could you ask for? :-) Ps. Their Thai tea or green tea ice cream is the way to go after a delish meal at Dami

This restaurant was awesome. We arrived at around 8:15pm knowing that they close at around 10pm. There was only one other group that was there besides us and they eventually left, which left us to be the only ones there. Their food was amaaaazing. There wasn’t anything there that didn’t taste great. And their customer service was great too. It was my last night in alaska and I’m glad I ate there. It was great.

Customer service improved a whole lot this visit to anchorage. The food was good, the servers were very personable and made conversation that was very inviting. The food was delicious as usual. A good thing. The location was very convenient. Next time I come back to anchorage I’ll definitely come back. I’m glad I gave Dami’s a second chance. Thanks for improving your customer service!

This place is the cheapest in town and the most delicious. Interior is super nice and service has always been good. I’ve tried almost every sushi place in town, and Dami tastes the best and is the most affordable!

When I came to Anchorage, I was spoiled by the fresh fish. Dami did not disappoint me. I found Dami through Unilocal.Based on the positive reviews, I checked it out one evening during my visit to Anchorage. It was very easy to find and I liked that it had its own parking lot in the back, shared with the Econolodge next door. Walking in, my first impression was that Dami had a tranquil, intimate, and romantic ambiance. With an indoor fountain and soft lighting, it seemed like a good place for a date or business meeting. I opted to sit at the sushi bar, and watched the chefs make orders. The sushi bar is always a good seat in a sushi restaurant IMHO. My order was for the bento box combo with teriyaki salmon, tempura and choice of any sushi roll. I picked the Sunrise(?) roll with unagi and spicy salmon. My meal also came with an appetizer, miso soup, house salad, rice, and a mini cream puff. All of this for just $ 18.95! A good value for Japanese dinner bento box. The teriyaki(wild) salmon was tasty and fresh, although it was doused in too much teriyaki sauce. The spicy salmon in the roll had a nice kick to it and also tasted fresh. The tempura breading was too thick, but it was not bad. With all the sides, I left full and satisfied. 4 stars for good value, nice décor, fresh fish and friendly staff.
