Good burgers. VERY Reasonably priced. Eclectic menu from Asian to American. Sweet funny staff. Adequate seating. Daily specials. I had the aloha burger and fries and my genius daughter the cheeseburger. Very happy to have gone there and I’ll certainly return.

I thought Burger Jim was OK. My burger was well prepared, but I still think Quickie Burger and Arctic Roadrunner and Longbranch are better. The location is pretty undesirable, parking is a clusterf* and the place hasn’t been updated since 1970. Could take it or leave it. The one good thing is the lunch special is only 10 bucks, which is a steal by Alaskan standards.

Ordered delivery, 4 Teriyaki and 2 Aloha burgers w/couple of fries. Burgers are good to fill a late lunch crave. If you like some Chinese food to go with it, they have some options to choose from as well. I’ve always stuck to burgers here. kudos to delivery.

Burger hums can be a real hit or miss, sometimes you are completely satisfied and actually impressed! But then again sometimes can be a total waste of time and money. The back doesn’t look as clean as if like but the burgers can sometimes be worth the risk lol all in all nothing really special but a quick place to stop and grab a bite.

Since going ‘Gluten-Free’ and doing the Atkin’s diet, I eat other items on their menu. The burgers are always awesome and still consistent in quality, you can also double the burger(which is really steak) for a couple of dollars and make it a monster. They have the best ‘Fried Rices’ variety in town, and my favorite is the House Fried Rice, Spicy(has chicken, pork, beef and shrimp), they do not skimp on the meat and it’s never soggy. Everything is freshly made. I adore their Jim Supreme salad, which is similar to a Cobb salad and can take home for later. They have an awesome New York-style Cheesecake thats creamy and delicious. They still deliver, have dine-in or take out… not many awesome places can manage that. My brother says their clam chowder is the best, and he is a head chef at a local artisan restaurant. I’ll be going to Burger Jim’s forever!!!

I was rather impressed with the burgers and their timing of service. The burgers were cooked and prepared well and the chicken teriyaki was decent too. The only issue I had was that the milkshake was terrible. It was more like an Icee with hardly any flavor rather than a milkshake

Worst milkshake in the world. They use ICE. It was like an artificial chocolate-flavored slurpee. I don’t think there was any actual milk in it. The fries and mushrooms were stale. The bathrooms were filthy, the tables were greasy and dirty. And they don’t put ketchup at the tables. Every table had a mustard bottle but you had to go collect a ketchup bottle from the counter. The service is nice, but I can’t respect a burger place that is so cheap, they think out their milkshakes with ice.

Good food. Don’t let the place fool you, they make great burgers. The Jim Burger is always on the special, and specials for lunch are $ 9.95 with fries and a drink. Could it use some freshening up inside, sure. But the food is good and prices nice.

I have eaten here for years, but they just raised the price for the specials on burgers to $ 11.00. That is outrageous! Will not be going back. I will miss them. The other people in my office agree, not worth it even for a historically good burger. The burgers did seem to include less and less ingredients, however over time. The last one had very little lettuce and other items making that combo such as grilled onions and jalapeño. I requested extra jalapenos and was charged an extra $ .50. They had previously been added for free many times. The french fries need help also. I hope the quality returns for a decent price but will not hold my breath waiting. I imagine they will lose a lot of business with these prices which exceed the price of a burger and fries at Club Paris now.

Simple, fresh food; clean, casual environment; reasonable prices. You order at the counter as you walk in, take a seat, then go pick up your order once it’s ready. I had the patty melt and fries. The fries were larger«steak cut» style — hot and fresh. The patty melt was nicely cooked — two meet patties, not overdone, right amount of cheese and onions. The bread was lightly grilled and tasty. Not a bad lunch for about $ 8. If you have a craving for a burger, this is a good choice.

Quick eats, Chinese food and a burger for the kiddos. Pretty clean and fast. Parking is a challenge when is it busy. I am not sure if owners have been the same since we started coming here more than 17 years ago but the Jim’s burger seems the same and is always good.

We stopped here on our way out of Anchorage and were pleasantly surprised. Their burgers are reasonably priced, and my son declared that his was delicious. I had Chinese food. It wasn’t nearly as cheap, but the portion was large enough for a second meal(two could easily share a Chinese plate, which comes with rice and an egg roll). The people in the kitchen were speaking Korean – wish they would throw some Korean food on the menu! Someone mentioned that it was dirty, but that was an older review. I thought the place looked and felt very clean. We will go again someday.

i was in the area and was craving some chinese food. So decided to stop in. Was about 2pm so only a few customers. Was greeted. I look thru their menu n noticed the whole chinese food price have gone up big time. $ 12.95 for a entrée! So i look around and tried they special for the day. $ 8.95 Burger Jim sandwich with fries and a drink. I went ahead and ordered that to go. About 5 mins later receive food. DELICIOUS! This burger i can say is my new favorite in Anchorage. The burger consist of lettuce, tomato, mushroom, cheese, bacon, ham, grill onion, sauce n some other stuff. So delicious! You wont be disappointed! The fries are the big huge slice. Very good also. Simple. So stop by and try the Burger Jim sandwich!

Different. Where else but Anchorage can you get chinese food and hamburgers cooked by your local Chinese Americans? Prices are cheap by Alaskan standards. Best food… old fashioned steak fries.

Burger Jims has been serving up Burgers here in Anchorage since 1980, and to be honest he has a pretty decent greasy burger/cheese burger, as his 31 years proves. Burger Jims has an array of Burger choices with his famous«Daily Specials» which I think have not changed in 20 years… why rock a good thing huh? I can recommend the Ranch Burger and the Onion Rings, and his sandwich selection, «does not suck». All in all a decent burger!

I am sucker for their grilled tuna melt. They use the expensive Costco white albacore tuna(I saw the can) and mix it with mayo and onions and grill the tuna itself like a patty on the grill until it’s browned and then melt the cheese on top and grill the thick, white bread with it all together. So fattening… so buttery… so good. The place is always filthy so I try to just look down at the sandwich and not at the walls, floors or table. I eat it and get the heck out of there and hope nobody sees that I ate there. My guilty pleasure. It’s located downtown inside the bus station!

I was just remembering this place… they have great burgers. really freakin’ good. I know… i know… many of my burger joint reviews in Anchorage are because I was HIGH and had an extreme case of the munchies. But that does not mean that it was not delish… cause it was. They have have other good stuff here too… I am not sure what… but I remember it was all yummm.
