Awesome atmosphere, amazing food(seriously!), great beer and wine, and overall a MUST for any dining experience in Anchorage. I can’t wait to go back the next time I visit! I ordered a steak with shrimp which was delicious and the desserts we shared(Mocha Cheesecake and the Crème Brulee) were both outstanding.

Stopped in on a busy Friday night and was able to get a seat at the bar. Waitress was awesome. They had a big party so food took a long time to come. Had the rockfish on the menu — worth the wait. Waitress offered a free dessert because of the long time it took for food to arrive — the exact right thing to do from a customer service standpoint. Chose the bread pudding– it was heaven!

One word comes to mind: Impressed! I was deeply impressed when I came here. The layout of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. If you wanted to capture the physical beauty of Alaska in the form of a restaurant, then you would replicate the Glacier Bar. As for the food, unfortunately I was not quite as impressed. The quality to price ratio was not quite on point. The food was good, but it was not of the taste and quality to warrant the high prices. I ordered the Fettuccini with Alaskan Salmon and while it was delightful I expected more. The bread was also a bit plain. As another note, the service was very friendly. Overall, 4 stars

Glacier Brewhouse is always good place to eat, I’ve never had a bad meal nor have I ever had bad service.

Long time Alaskan, first visit at Glacier. Very pleased! Had 3 young grandkids in tow. Kids menu came with fresh cut fruit«starter», and an ice cream cookie sandwich for desert. For us adults, it was super yummy and filling! Soup of the day, potato-leek, prime rib cheese-steak, blue plate special(honey chicken sandwich). The calamari was«off the hook”-awesome! Will definitely be back for great customer service, wonderful meal/atmosphere and professional staff. Thank-you for the great dining.

The atmosphere is so good, which reminds me of my hometown, all the lights are shining. We ordered King Salmon, and it is just fine. I am not an expert in eating sea food. However, I prefer halibut better than salmon. And I had the make-a-wish, which is not So-so. Really want to try the Brûlée, but I am too full. Thank you for offering me a warm night at the Frozen paradise.

A must stop for anyone in the Anchorage area. The beers are outstanding and plentiful(impossible to try them all in even a couple sittings). The food was delicious. The place was packed and it was definitely busy but that’s how I judge a good place anyway. If you never went to the Moose’s Tooth because they were always packed, you’d be missing out. Same story here. You need to check this place out and it’s worth coming back again and again.

Crowded always. My friends really like the food here so I thought I’d give it a try and waited out the long line for dinner. About 50 minutes later, we got a table. Service was slow. I attribute that to the abundance of people. The place was packed on a weeknight! As for the food: I tried their Caesar salad and it was pretty standard. Then, I tried the seared ahi and it nearly killed me with all the black pepper. I couldn’t stop coughing nor could I finish it.(Someone else finished it and said it was delicious.) I didn’t know I had an intolerance for pepper until now but that pepper flavour overwhelmed the entire dish. So this wasn’t the best of experiences but I’d give it another try with something other than a pepper-laden entrée. Reservations might also be a good idea if that will get a table more expediently. I’m not about to hurry back though.

Went in with a buddy. Found a place in the bar and the place was packed. Great beer selection, some of the most unique I have seen. Beer finished in whiskey barrels. Mine was great and there is a few more I would like to try. If I had just went for the beer it would have been 5 stars Besides the beer the food was probably 2 star. The halibut was over cooked and dry, the mashed potatoes were warm at best. My friend went the night before and had the ahi salad, so good he ordered it tonight again and he said wow what a difference, not good. Nice menu with a lot of food looking stuff on it. My guess is, just a little bit to busy to keep up

First time in Alaska and I was starving after a long day of flights so I decided to come to the brew house since it was just across the street from my hotel. It’s a nice homey place, feels like you’re in a cabin, and especially cozy with their fireplace. Luckily I got seated right away and my waitress, Kayla came up to me right away and asked if I wanted anything to drink aside from water. I ordered the blackberry basil lemonade. She then informed me of the blue plate special, which was the chorizo burger, and the soup of the day, can’t remember what it was. I ordered the blue plate special and she let me swap out the homemade chips for fries instead. Score! Love me some burger and fries. The burger came out and it was good. Good old sumptuous burger to satisfy my hunger. Loved the kick it had with the chorizo, jalapeños, raw onions, and spicy aioli. The fries were definitely the star of the show though! They were perfectly crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I love good fries! Anyways, the food was so good(or I was so hungry) that I forgot to take pics but this is definitely a solid spot for lunch in downtown anchorage. Love the atmosphere and the service was great(Kayla came to check if I needed anything multiple times and she was delightful every time). In town for a couple of days and the rest of the menu looked delicious too so I’ll definitely be back! P. S. They have a nice selection of beers, wines and cocktails!

I hate to bash on local faves, but I was not very impressed with this place. The prices were ridiculous for the food, the food wasn’t even that good, definitely do NOT get the Caesar salad, the lettuce tasted like it was frozen for a while and then defrosted and put out for people to eat. The service was ok, I felt like I was always being rushed whenever they came over to ask if we were doing ok, almost as if they were just asking to ask but didn’t really want to hear if you needed help. I ordered the rotisserie chicken– it was really dry and there was just a weird taste to it. i hate to say it but the word formaldehyde comes to mind. lol I’m sure I just didn’t like the taste though. The one good thing about this place is that they change out your silverware, all the time, I mean almost unnecessarily but I didn’t mind it. I would suggest going elsewhere, too much $$ for the experience.

Loved this place, food was plenty, tasty and good value. Place is busy yet service at bar is quick and laid back. Very friendly. I’d be back for sure. Seems everyone at bar was happy. Many menu choices and craft beer. The place was busy, but they have plenty of staff. Easy parking and great atmosphere.

This is a huge and hopping place: feels like a ski lodge inside with a huge central fireplace and high ceilinged woody ambiance. The waiter was generous recommending the local beers, giving us a sampler on a big wooden slab, with extra thrown in, including a porter beer with the massively rich peanut butter pie. The meals were generous and flavorful: a sweet crusted salmon was a highlight. I left feeling about as stuffed and saturated as I have in a long time. I must have been a little delirious from all the added beer shots as I left my credit card in the sleeve and had to retrieve it the next day. Also, the bread was wonderful: thick, nutty, rich, chewy — I have never had table bread as good as this in my life!

Really nice place! Very nice for group. My gf and I had a late night dinner there on Christmas eve. The server is really friendly. It’s also very near from my hotel, which is across the road. Love anchorage! I’ll miss it

I don’t think I can count on two hands how many times I’ve been here over the years. What I can tell you is that the food, ambiance and service at the GBH is outstanding. Their menu hasn’t changed much so I’ve been able to try a few things. I tend to lean to my favorites; those being: the chicken salad, shrimp salad, ahi tuna(2 thumbs for this one) and my most recent fave, the rotisserie chicken. Each one is a hearty meal that fills me up but not a complete overload. I even have enough room for dessert! As for appetizers you can’t go wrong with the crab cakes or calamari. They’re both delicious. I’d skip the salmon dip… It was good but the bread was way too oily, the yogurt was just spooned on top and the dip wasn’t that nice rich smoked salmon I was hoping for. Speaking of dessert their peanut butter pie is rich and decadent, one of those desserts you save for once a year but totally worth it. My favorite, though, is the crème brûlée. This sucker is silky with the perfect amount of crunch and just all around delicious. I do like the chocolate torte it’s very chocolate-y and rich but I have mixed feelings… It’s either way too hard(like not thawed enough) or like this last visit there was a huge chuck of unmelted chocolate just hanging out in the middle of the slice. A classic Anchorage original you won’t wanna miss! Make reservations a few days in advance either by calling or online.

We came here at dinner time on a Tuesday night and the place was packed! The wait time for party of 2 was 45mins and we got lucky by finding seats at the communal table. We started with the beer flights for $ 7.50, sampling their 5 top beers(from light to dark) and it was great. The food was awesome! We got half portion of the Alaskan King Crab legs(steamed to order and come with butter dip) and the salmon bake(served with mash potato n asparagus). The salmon was seasoned to perfection and a must have! Another plus, no sales tax in the city of Anchorage!

Located in downtown Anchorage, the dining room closes at 9:30 pm on some days but you can go to the bar after and grab a bier and then some late night bites. It has a nice vibe and lots of seating. I would go for the Alaskan seafood oriented dishes and stay main stream Alaskan dishes like the crab legs and halibut. The beer selection, being that this is a brew house, is decent. It does get a lot of convention people so make a reservation and arrive to be find yourself a nice booth table. It’s a well known brewery, so make you a quick stop and get your tourist game face on.

Had the crab cakes. While the cakes themselves were just alright, they were fantastic with the corn relish. The corn mixture was really the tastiest part of the dish, with great sweet flavor and spice. Worked perfectly with the cakes. Good blend of taste and texture. Filling for lunch as well! I’m very sad to see the Buffalo Trace Barleywine is no longer on the seasonal beers menu :( Now that I know all their beer is brewed in-house, this place is definitely worth 5 stars!

Five out of five rating. Make a reservation if you can before you want to eat here. Service is fast. Staff accommodating and nice considering how packed it gets here. King crab legs and calamari make good appetizers. The bigger your party the longer the wait. It’s the best restaurant in this area. Growlers are available and homemade rootbeer on the tap! Finish off with peanut butter pie piece!
