I decided to order from here and was really disappointed. I ordered their chicken chow mein(with soft noodles) and I was shocked when I took a bite. I even made a face… like what is this? As it turns out, they use regular spaghetti pasta for this dish. That’s exactly what these noodles tasted like. I’ve ordered chow mein with soft noodles many, many times from other establishments and never had it taste like straight up spaghetti.

I keep hoping to find a Chinese joint where the food blows me away. I never do. My son and I went here and actually ate IN, which for me, is a rarity. He got chicken noodle soup and I got the house noodle soup. We also shared an order of egg rolls and fried shrimp. Ratings: Chicken Noodle soup: I don’t get kids. They SCARF Campbell’s chicken noodle like there’s no tomorrow, but give em a bowl of freshly made chicken noodle in a bowl with mild broth? Nope. He only ate about one third of it, and about as soon as the fortune cookies showed up it was all over for me in trying to get the kid to eat more. I guess it had too many veggies for him lol(though they’re a selling feature for me). I tried it and didn’t see what his issue was since the stuff was VERY bland(RE: perfect for kids) but anyway, as for savory taste to the broth, it was extremely blah. I give this stuff 5⁄10 based on the veggies and chicken. The noodles were too mushy for my liking. House Noodle soup: Same broth as the chicken noodle(I was hoping for greater depth in it but it tasted more like someone had just opened a can of chicken broth and called it good). I liked the seafood, chicken and veggies which were given in generous amount. Overall, I ate about half of it. The noodles though were gross and too mushy so overall I give it a 4⁄10. Egg rolls: standard issue chinese fare. Nothing bad or good stood out about these so I give em’ 5⁄10. Fried Shrimp: Nearly impossible to screw this stuff up so this was the best part of the meal. 7⁄10. Ambience: Aside from the fact I started to overheat pretty rapidly while we were sitting there(always a potential problem for me as most establishments keep the indoors at a stifling 72 – 75 degrees… just freaking shoot me now please) and that the seat I was on seemed to be sagging right in the middle(we sat in a booth), the décor was really cool. Probably one of the most elaborately done up Chinese places I’ve ever seen. 7⁄10. Service: Decent enough. The waiter didn’t speak very good English but he gave us everything in a timely manner. He did not refill our water or prebus the table at all, and we had to steal a napkin from another table. 5⁄10. I may someday return to try more of the menu, but nothing compels me to do so at this juncture.

The food here used to be AMAZING, but they must have changed management, or maybe the owner died and now it’s just her children… But, the food here now leaves a LOT to be desired. The Garlic Chicken had way more vegetables than actual chicken, the«Happy Family,» which turns out is supposed to be a seafood medley was sorely lacking any real seafood that wasn’t overcooked and chewy. The wonton soup was BROWN And cold. The fried shrimp(both the appetizer and the sweet and sour,) were bland and cold. The pork fried rice was flavorless and burned, the egg rolls(when did all egg rolls become just vegetable and no meat?) were burned, and bland, yet somehow spicy… The appetizer BBQ Pork always tastes like chemicals. The prices have become absolutely RIDICULOUS. This restaurant used to be amazing, but now it’s no better than any other mediocre Chinese restaurant in Alaska. Sadly, we won’t be ordering from here anymore.

This is by far my «go to» Chinese restaurant in Anchorage. It is family owned, the owners are so friendly that you feel very welcomed and almost part of the family. I have eaten inside the restaurant which is decorated from ceiling to floor, which is nice, and also had delivery, it is always in a timely manner and food is always fresh. I have never had any issues with this restaurant and the food they serve. Shrimp with lobster sauce, egg drop soup, fried shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice… just to name some of my favorites, never failed me. Try it out.

This is my first time here. I was a little worried having smelled a strong burnt smell. Not sure what it is tho. I ordered their Kung Pow chicken lunch special. It was a bit on the small side but looked very fresh. Veggies were crisp and the sauce was a bit sweet. Not the normal Kung Pow I am accustomed to but it was a pleasant change. A little over priced but I did enjoy the meal.

It’s a great place to have Chinese food. The dishes were delicious and the owner was very friendly and customer-oriented. My friend and I were looking for King crab leg Chinese dish in AK, finally this restaurant made our trip perfectly and had the wonderful food. Also you can see the decoration of the restaurant is also decent. Thanks to the owner whose smile and consideration made us a happy day in Anchorage AK.

Ordered delivery which arrived in less than 20 minutes. Food was rather disappointing. The general tso’s and sesame chicken entrees were good. The egg rolls were terrible. No meat at all. Just unflavored cabbage and wrapper. The fried rice was a big gummy mess. The meal wasn’t a complete waste of money but I wouldn’t order again.

I really enjoyed eating here. Great service and very friendly. Food was by far some of the best Chinese food I’ve had here in Anchorage so far. I will be back. :-)

I had great memories of eating at this restaurant having lived here for over 56 years. I now live in Arizona and am back visiting family in Anchorage and was craving the taste I remembered. So I placed a delivery order fro Fu Du last night. I ordered the Breaded Almond Chicken and because I had to order $ 20 for a delivery I also ordered Sesame Chicken. My order arrived in about an hour and was nothing like I remembered. It was greasy and the breaded almond chicken was a thin dried up patty with a greasy sauce. I was truly disappointed. The sesame chicken was not bad but the fried rice was more like minute rice with some frozen vegetables thrown in. All in all this expensive($ 35) meal was a sad take on Chinese food. Definitely not worth the money or the wait. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Nothing about this place was good. We ordered takeout from the menu as they claim to be Anchorage’s best Chinese food. I’ve had it bookmarked for months. My experience: No menu so I just call in and order what I normally order from anywhere else. Sesame chicken and Szechwan Chicken with an order of Crab Rangoon which here is «Crab Langoon», i’m told 15 – 20 minutes, Perfect! I’ll be there. I show up, my order is ready and so is my bill for $ 41.00. The Appetizer was around $ 13 – 14 and was the most pathetic Crab«Langoon» I have ever had, it seemed like they took a teaspoon in a half of cream cheese and threw it into the hardest shell ever and fried it for a few seconds. Was not good at all! Did I even get sweet and sour sauce in my to-go bag, NO and I didn’t think to ask for it. The sesame chicken and fried rice was VERY bland and the chicken was soggy. The chicken Szechwan was very mediocre. Here is the part that makes me angry, you pay for the meal prices and they DONOT give you the soup that accompanies the meal in your carryout. You pay for it, but you don’t get it. Needless to say $ 41.00 later on crap I won’t ever come here again!

Blech. Never again. 18 dollars for inedible orange beef. I ordered take out and they were nice enough to offer me a cup of soup while I waited. I was in a hurry, but I appreciated the sentiment. I like the décor in Fudo, so I didn’t mind the brief wait. But when I got out to the car I opened the container and immediately sampled the contents. While the sauce was delicious and exactly the degree of spiciness I asked for, the beef was soggy and inedible. I opened the container right away and it was just beyond gross. And the coating had the vague fishy hint of old fry oil. Just eww. I’m seriously put out, especially after shelling out 18 buck. Hungry and broke damnit.

Ordered takeout tonight: black mushrooms with vegetables consisted of bok choy and shiitake mushrooms, sweet and sour shrimp container was half full however the noodles were good. This place was really expensive when ordering a la carte so I suggest if you’re ordering dinner, order off the dinner special menu. You get more food for the price. Overall the food was okay but not great.

Waited 10 mins to be seated when there was no other customer. The owner was still eating. The food was not fresh, reason why was because after I give them my order the food came out after a few mins. My fried rice was burnt and the food was cold. Maybe we when in at a bad time, I don’t know. I will never go to this place again.

Walked in and it was warm and inviting. The lady who greeted and sat us was very friendly. We got our water and drinks in record time. Ordered sweet and sour chicken and chicken chow mein for my daughter and I. Two full lunches(soup, rice, and entrée) for 13.95? Yes please! Our waiter, Tom, was super friendly and helped find the best meal deal for us(my daughter is 3 so doesn’t eat much). He brought out the soup and set both in front of me so I could cool it down how I preferred for Abby. Very thoughtful! Soup was delicious. Perfect temp and consistency. Not watery or all broth. Abby loves the spoons especially. The food itself? Oh… my…goodness. SO good. Perfect portioning(not too much or too little). Best sweet and sour chicken ever and Abby loooved her chow mein. Food was polished off with two fortune cookies and two orange slices(big hit with the 3 year old on both fronts). Only ONE gripe(if you can even call it that): no more canned soda. I can get that at home. Fountain tastes better and is cheaper on everyone in the long run. Minor gripe comparatively so it doesn’t effect stars. One thing that did effect stars is the appetizers were too expensive. Offer half portions/half price? I can’t eat 8 pot stickers but 4 sounds reasonable between my daughter and I. To be fair, I never asked if they could do that so they get that star back!

Great chinese food epic customer service lol the lady there is very sweet and loud but makes you feel very welcome. The food is excellent. The last time I was there I had brocoli and beef the brocoli was cooked perfect not soggy :) the gravy was delicious the house fried rice was good BUT the shrimp did not seem cooked enough to our liking. Do not regret spending money there.

This is my go to take out place for Chinese. The food is ready fast and the service is great. We usually get Crab Rangoon, Beef and Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Chicken, egg rolls and fried rice and it is always good. I’ve never had a bad meal from here. And I love hearing the«Hello Honey» from the very nice lady who answers the phone for take out.

This was about the worst Chinese delivery I have ever had. The food took a long time to arrive and when it did, the sauce was so syrupy sweet that I could barely eat it. It was also more expensive than any of the other places I’ve bought from in the area. To top it off, the service was bad, bordering on rude. No thanks!

If you like noodles with black bean sauce and hot and sour soup(ask for extra vinegar), you will be happy at Fu Do. For twenty years, we’ve loved hearing«Hello Hunny,» and now the former children are working there too.
