It’s all right. It’s not amazing. Some sushi is good but it seems like everything on the belt was spicy and not fresh(being on the belt too long) Our table looked like it wasn’t wiped down and it looked dingy and oily with fingerprints. The staff is friendly tho.

One of my favorite stops in Anchorage, food is fresh and delicious. Best deals are at lunch. Korean BBQ is fabulous. Good variety and you can try many different ones, each plate is about 3 pieces.

Overpriced and mediocre. I came here with some coworkers(if I hadn’t, I would have never stepped foot in this place). It as around noon on a weekday and the place was pretty empty. We watched the food go by on the conveyor belt, hoping to see something we couldn’t resist. We picked a few rolls, and they were OK. Nothing special. There were some Korean and Japanese options and some unappetizing desserts that would go by. I expected more variety of sushi, and better quality, not just variations of mostly the same roll. Not horrible, but not close to what I’d consider a real sushi place. It’s about what you’d expect it to be — very Americanized offerings on a food Merry-Go-Round to entertain you.

There are lots of options & it’s really fun to try all the different ones that you wouldn’t order a whole plate of. Really fun date! The servers are really friendly, as well.

Be careful plates add up! A plate may be $ 4 but it only has 3 pieces, then add another and another and soon you have a stack worth $ 60. It’s a good spot to go if you’re looking for a snack. Order off the menu to keep the bill in check, unless you don’t care about the end cost. The quality is not top notch, but it’s not terrible. I won’t go out of my way to dine here.

Wife and I really enjoyed our first revolving sushi experience. There was lots of variety and our favorite was the Mt. McKinley — needs to be renamed to Denali :) We will definitely come back with our daughter as it appears very family friendly. Portions were really good for 1pm.

I thought their sushi was delicious and extremely fresh. However, this place seems to have fallen into making only specialty rolls with a lot of ingredients that you have to read quickly as it moves by on the belt. They far outnumbered simple nigiri and other sushi staples. A favorite of mine was the ‘Monkey Brains’, which was a split giant mushroom deep fried and served with crab.

I stopped in for lunch today, and while I could be mistaken I expected to have the chance to order the specials advertised on their sidewalk sign be offered a menu, or be asked if I wanted something to drink besides water… Instead fifteen minutes later I walked out in order so I could get food before having to be back to work.

For the area, this spot is fantastic. Their actual menu is all decently priced and offers a good selection, but obviously the main appeal is their revolving selection. Plates start just below $ 2 per place and their highest is $ 5, and range from bowls of edamame, to 2 – 3 piece rolls and nigiri, to drinks, and small desserts. Servers come by to bring drinks, menus, and other requested items, but you always have the option of eating exclusive from the revolving belt. They have some unique items, including a few with bacon, and even their surprisingly delicious«Tom and Jerry» roll, which has peanut butter and jelly. Their lunch specials are great, with every plate discounted to $ 2.75 or less Mon-Fri from 9 – 4 if I remember correctly. They also have punch cards to help out your wallet even more! Main complaint would be that way too much of their stuff is fried or has too much tempura for my liking, but you can still usually find a decent amount of fresh and raw options.

Appetizer and sake selection were good. The monkey brains(ordered off the menu) are good. Wait staff was decent. If you want to eat off the revolving sushi bar make sure to get there during a busy time. The fried Oreos are great! get a spring roll! The bulgogi is good and the cream cheese wontons are good, when you get them hot!

Super whatever. …its Asian«fast food»…what do i mean by that? Well its quick and easy, the food is already going by, you grab, you eat, you pay and go «bye bye». Wide selection of things BUT you have to come in at the beginning of their serving time! They close at 3pm and reopen at 5pm, so come in at that time and enjoy a wide variety of food. Again, not amazing food but not crap either! Service was quick and to the point. As a matter of fact, this is the restaurant where ive paid the least while eating out(i am also skinny) …but if you’re a burly alaskan, you might want to go somewhere else… They also have a menu just like any other restaurant, but that’s not the point of this place as there are other better establishments that will serve you very good sushi, and if you’ve lived here for a while, you’ll know that OEC is not THE place to go to for sushi.

We came here about an our before closing, so they did not have the full selection. The food is ok, the best part is the conveyor belt, but you cannot be sure how long that plate has been there. The plates have a plastic cover, but as pieces went by I would some of the same plate with the pieces that have fallen apart. I think they could work on their freshness and presentation more. I think it’s 3.50 a plate for dinner. I heard they are much better during lunch when there is fore selection and its more fresh. Therefore you should not go if its not busy

I am just a huge fan of revolving sushi bars. I will try one anywhere, I know they are huge in Seattle so we got to try a few, this place pretty much compares to any that I have been too. For the previous reviews, of course this isn’t going to be your top notch sushi, it by far is not the sushi you buy in a package at the grocery store either, i believe it is between the two. It is just okay sushi of course. I think their rolls are much bigger sized then a grocery store sushi and again smaller than places like sushi ya, but you are paying alot cheaper then there as well, a roll is not $ 16.00 so you can’t expect much. I had four plates, i tried the bacon ranch, not my favorite but it was interesting and different, hence why i tried it. I also had the goya cream cheese, nothing fancy here, they could fill them a bit more for the $ 2.75 they are for just two. I tried the lobster and shrimp I believe and i loved it! I didn’t get a second one cause i wanted to save room for something else. I tried a shrimp tempura style something and it was good as well. I really want to hit this place up for their lunch special M-F 1100-300 of everything is $ 2.75 or less. I’m really wanting to see if they make the rolls smaller or just give you two instead of three pieces per plate. The most expensive plate at dinner is $ 4.95 and most plates do run the $ 4.25 and $ 4.95 prices. They have a punch card too make sure you get one, every $ 10 you spend after 10 stamps i believe you get $ 10 off your next meal, its better than nothing. I was a little sad that i didn’t know about this prior, i would’ve made room for one more plate to jump my $ 16.40 up to $ 20.00 for that second stamp. All in all a go to place for entertainment and a different sushi experience.

Very good food! All the food is fresh, tasty and a very wide variety to satisfy a variety of taste preferences. Loved the ambiance and the pricing system gave my date a chance to practice his math skills!

I had their lunch special and it was a terrible value. Sushi was similar to what you’d find in a plastic container at the grocery. Tiny portions were $ 2.75 each. My 12 yo ate 7 before I cut him off.

The sushi were pretty good and tasty. Although I would only eat during lunch special since dinner per plate is too pricey. I do like the revolving belt of different sushi.

Cool concept, but the prices are WAY too high for what looked(and tasted) like it had been sitting out all day. If I’m paying that much for a dinner, I expect to at least get fresh fish! The servers are nice enough, although they seem a bit scatterbrained/forgetful, which suggests that the management probably doesn’t have a good system for keeping track of tables.

I LOVED this experience. But, the sushi was average quality. This would be a great place for someone who has NEVER had sushi before, as there are many,. uh… let’s call them ‘intro sushis’ on the menu(such as sushi with beef in it.) Having said that, the revolving part is fun and affordable. You can also order from a full menu if the revolving food deal isn’t your thing. I’d probably go again, and just maintain my lowered standards.
