Nice place, portions were good, service was a little slow and price was a little higher than most places. Best place I have ever eat sushi was in Colorado Springs period!

This may be one of the best sushi places locally, but it’s mediocre on the Pacific coast. No fish had turned, it was fine, and the chefs were reasonably skilled, but it wasn’t up to California standards. I liked the white tuna and mackerel, but the rest: tuna, yellow tail, and salmon nigiri were sub par as was the one roll I had. The miso, I must say, was very good. If you are from out of town, with good sushi in your area, skip it.

Way overpriced. The food was decent but it was a very pretentious sushi restaurant. I wasn’t expecting a California roll to cost $ 12. Not my favorite in any way.

The restaurant from the outside was not very nice however, once you got through the doors it was a pleasant surprise. We ordered two sushi rolls and poke to try as an appetizer. They brought out miso which was fair and a not so good small bowl of lettuce with a pineapple dressing. Next came out our sushi rolls, mine was the«red flower» with salmon, tuna deep fried and topped with avocado was amazing. They then remembered our app and the poke arrived. This was disappointing, tasted as if the tuna had been frozen and very flavorless. We ordered dessert of tempura green tea ice cream, this was good as well but not great. This is a definite return to.

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the inside is surprisingly welcoming & tastefully decorated. We ordered the gyoza as an appetizer & it was one of the best we’ve ever had. The miso soup wasn’t overly salty like it can be at other places. The dressing on the salad was strange… very sweet. I ordered one of the rainbow rolls & it was good. According to the menu, anything that states it is made with crab meat is actually ½ real crab & ½ imitation crab. Upon request they will use only really crab for an up charge(I think it was $ 3). My husband ordered the yakisoba & it was delicious. Overall we were pleased with our meal.

Delicious sushi, but a little over priced. I used to regularly go here when it first opened up. They have a variety of different types of roles here. The staff is always accommodating & friendly. I recommend if you’re looking for good sushi.

Template for Anchorage sushi places: — humble exterior — shockingly nice interior — friendly service This is one of two excellent sushi joints that are squished up against Moose’s tooth. This is the fancier, and a bit pricier, of the two. I was very impressed by the ambiance and the service. The prices were a little high. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and don’t want to wait for Moose’s Tooth! Will definitely be back.

I’ve been taken to lunch here a few times now, and it’s OK. It’s definitely not authentic. I’ve been lucky enough to eat sushi at some great places in cities and states along the west coast. With that background, this places stands out as being very Americanized. The last time I was here, a coworker wanted to go. We both took a couple bites of our salad and pushed it away(which had a dressing so sweet that it was akin to melting ice cream and drizzling it over some cheap lettuce). The miso was the typical cheap stuff you get elsewhere. The sushi rolls we got were not very fresh tasting, and kind of bland. I have to mention that the poke they sell here(misspelled as «Poki» on the menu), is in no shape or form near any kind of poke I’ve ever eaten. It’s like someone who never ate it or saw a picture of it read a description of it, and attempted to create it blindly. Very odd. The service is always great, though. The next time someone wants to come here, though, I think I’ll just pass.

Some of the best sushi in town. This is my wife and I’s go to place for good sushi. Service is fast and polite. Meals come with a salad, soup and a fried Oreo for desert. You won’t be disappointed!

I have now been to this establishment 3 times total. Twice with some girlfriends to celebrate birthdays and once with my sweetheart. My last visit was wonderful as usual. Their portion size and prices are reasonable. The sushi and food I’ve had I was always happy with. They’re normally pretty busy and even then service is typically really good. Definitely gonna be one of our sushi go-to joints:).

I believe this place is not authentic Japanese but it DOES serve fresh sushi. We ordered the medium sushi combination(18pcs for $ 40) and spicy miso seafood soup($ 17). They are both good. Even if it’s not run by Japanese it does not make a difference to me. Sushi is cut raw fish, as long as it’s fresh who cares? This is a great trendy place to take a date or your family. I gave them 4 stars because the free miso soup they serve is bland and the free salad does not have a good dressing. Service is excellent ! There was one main lady server from Korea and she makes everyone feels welcome.

Looking at this restaurant from the outside you would swear you are in the wrong place but once you go inside it is very nice. I was wearing a polo and jeans and felt fine. A friend and I sat at the Sushi bar and were served promptly. We each ordered the sake sampler and received our drinks very fast. The sampler gives you 4 or five different types of sake and they all taste very different — a good surprise. We ordered the 911, King Kong, NY Naruto, and Rainbow 1 rolls and a small Sashimi. Both of our favorite was the Sashimi since the fish was SO fresh. The King Kong was a close second but the rolls are huge and too much for one probably! The NY Naruto was interesting because it is wrapped in cucumber. When I return myself I will probably get the small sashimi and the NY Naruto.

My #1 sushi restaurant in all of Anchorage. Always fresh, always delicious and always a good deal. The sushi lunches are amazing! Huge portions for both lunch and dinner entrees. Sometimes service is slow but I only attribute it to just how busy it gets in there. Enjoy great quality sushi and Japanese cuisine in this upscale restaurant!

I must say, things are still pretty great since my last review. I recently tried to see what it’d be like to have a larger group. They did amazing. All the food almost came out simultaneously and our waitress was the sweetest lady! She had such a cheerful disposition and made us all feel welcome. One thing I like is that the Miso soup is very rich here, unlike in other restaurants where it’s watered down. The salad had a delicious dressing that tasted like pineapples and all our meals were delicious. The food never seems to disappoint. On my last review I mentioned the orange chicken and how delicious it is. Well, I also recommend the Danny roll if you’re not a bold/daring raw sushi eater lol. The Danny roll is basically shrimp tempura and it has some delicious mashed avocado on top with tobiko and a light drizzle of spicy mayo. By the way, dab this in a bit of eel sauce, and yum! For dessert? The delicious and always enjoyable fried oreos that are sometimes on the house.
