Suprised with all the negative comments. This place has the best chicken I’ve tasted yet. Yes a little greasy, but sooooo worth it. I’m definitely a regular here!!!

I have been a fan of Wings ‘N Things when they were still at the downtown location several years back. This was the go-​to place for me whenever I had a craving for buffalo wings. The sauce they made for the wings was the best I ever had. Fast forward to the location at 36^th and Arctic. The location still makes that familiar sauce that I love, but they just don’t cook it the way the original location did when the owner Joe still owned the place. Customer service is good except for one lady who wasn’t very friendly whenever I visited. The wings here were so disappointing on my most recent visit. The familiar sauce flavor was there but the wings were dry and it didn’t have that special care and attention that I remembered from before. The celery was fresh but I noticed some brown stalks mixed in with the others. The blue cheese is still the best. The cooks that made the wings have the sauce recipe that Joe has has kept secret for so many years but the quality and taste of the wings just doesn’t compare to the original place. I heard they were going to open a second location in South Anchorage. Hopefully, it will be an improvement over this location in regards to the food and the surrounding neighborhood that the restaurant is currently at.

Just had my last wings and things after 30 yrs the inconsistency of the key ingredient the sauce has become to frequent for the money.

I went there and had the special of wing and a drink for around $ 10 dollars, the Chicken wings were small, old, greasy. disgusting, the wings had barely any meat. The tables were dirty. They gave us the wings shortly after our arrival but the presentation was poor. The wings were covered with a sauce that was mixed with oil. By far the worst wings I’ve ever had.

Remember when this place used to be a hole-​in-​the-​wall place downtown and was the best wings ever? What the heck happened?

The man in the ponytail is nice, but the lady in front with the brown hair is rude and doesn’t know how to helpful to customers. I could see favoritism towards lighter skin customers and regulars. The food however was great with great wings and a great sub sandwich. Breads was cold however and menu a bit hard to see in darker lighting. Eating there is a bit of an experience. The tables are dirty and should be cleaned at least twice an hour. Overall my opinion of the place is mixed I have had a good experience there before, but my last few have tempted me just to go to another place or make my own wings. It’s overall ok go if you want, but be warned customer service is terrible.

Best wings ever! I placed a phone order. Received my delicious wings in ten minuets. Friendly delivery man. Will definitely order again!

Tried to order on-​line. The order was accepted but no food. After 1hr and 25 minutes I called. First they said they had no order for me then after I said I ordered on-​line they came back and said it was on the screen but hadn’t printed. I asked for them to cancel my order. On my way out the door to go get something to eat they called back and said they could bring it in 5 – 15 minutes I said no because I was already on my way out. They then said they already charged my card and I needed to give them more information for them to credit my card. That did for me. I contacted the credit card company to reverse their charge. By the way I had included a $ 20 tip on a $ 38 order, so much for service. Beware of on-​line orders from here.

The sauce is very good, not your typical wing sauce. Great flavor and lots of choices of spice.

Horrible customer service… Whoever takes phone orders is an idiot and they never try and fix their mistakes

The wings were good but nothing truly memorable. We ordered both the mild wings and the hot wings and could not determined which was the hotter. They were both about the same for intensity but they were both good and hot enough.

I ordered wings to go, by phone. Showed up thirty minutes later, and had to stand there waiting for another thirty minutes. The restaurant was incredibly dirty, and the wings, when I finally got them, were swimming in grease. There are lots of places to get great wings in this town. This place is NOT one of them.

With out a doubt in my mind best wings place hands down. They are the most flavorful crunchy wings I have ever had. And their philly cheese steak is off the hook. I love the servers there they are always friendly and upbeat. And treat you just like family. It’s never a dull moment when you go to wings n things!!!

The WORST customer service on the phone that I have ever experienced. Absolutely negative and confrontational over the phone. Either she is having a bad day or she needs customer service training 101 or get out of customer service industry altogether!!! All the years we’ve been ordering from them and the attitude I received was horrendous! We will not service this business ever in the future!

Great wings, my hubby is a huge fan. However their delivery service can use a tune up. We’ve noticed things we ordered would be forgotten. Well right now we have been waiting almost 40 minutes for the rest of our order. When I called them the lady on the phone was unapologetic & crass. I asked who was the manager? She said it was her, I then asked who is the owner that I can make a complaint to she then said it was her mom Annie. Lol well I’m pretty sure my complaint won’t go far, so were else to voice my complaint… Unilocal.Get it together Wings & Things!

Yum! Wings N’ Things are the best! Perfectly crispy, unbreaded deep fried wings the way they are supposed to be! The sauce is to die for. Yes the service can be a bit unprofessional but the wings are so good it doesn’t matter.

Have been to both this 36^th St location and to the new location on 6^th Ave across from the Performing Arts Center.
I went to the 36^th one about a month after they re-​opened when it was still crazy packed– like an hour wait for the wings once you ordered them. I got 10 mild and 10 medium and while both were ok, they were insanely greasy and that made me sick (my stomach is sensitive to too much grease). They were also not worth that kind of wait.
I’ve since been back to this location twice, once in December and once this month and they are *much* improved. The wings no longer sit in an inch high pool of grease in the bottom of your container (I go with take out most of the time). I think they also have the oil at the proper temperature and that makes a big difference on how much grease stays in the wings.
I’ve also been to the 6^th Ave. restaurant– there was a tapas place there before I think. It has nice seating and bar that takes up a good portion of the space, but it’s a lot nicer than the 36^th St. location. I sat down and ate them there and the wings are just a lot better right out of the fryer. You are able to move them around to get the grease to mostly drain out.
These are ‘dry’ wings, which I prefer over ones drenched in sauce after they are cooked. I like both, but since this style is my preference, it definitely makes a difference. I’ll also say that when they cook them right, these are the best wings I’ve ever had. Their blue cheese dressing is different than anything I’ve had before and very tasty.
Still not worth an hour wait, but now that’s not an issue anymore. :)

That was our order at my last visit to Wing n Things and let me tell you, it will definitely not be my last. I grew up on these wings so every time I’m in town, I HAVE to eat here. Since I moved, I have yet to find anything that compares to these wonderful wings of goodness… Seriously, they’re perfectly season, fried pieces of heaven!
I was crushed when I heard the original downtown location closed. But now, all is well since their reopening. The new location has more seating, but I must admit, I miss the tiny blue, cozy, albeit somewhat dingy downtown spot. It had a lot of character that could only come from having spent decades living in. And oh the smell… yeah, you know what I’m talkin’ bout!
Reminiscing aside… the wings are still top notch. Definitely check it out if you have the chance!
