I always get the Ahmo’s gyro and fries, so tasty. The Ahmo’s gyro is lamb/beef/chicken, and the fries are the perfect mix of crispy outside, soft and potato-y inside. They do have a very large menu, I once got a fattoush, which was decent. My go-to is just too tasty and a great value, even if it’s not quite as healthy as other comparable restaurants like Jerusalem Garden.

The service is awful — they’re rude, and obviously don’t give a rip about their jobs. Because of some allergies, one of the few things I can eat there is grape leaves. But they always run out. So frequently so that you’d think they might just, I don’t know, make more? Nope. And you know what? The grape leaves aren’t even that great. And they give you a tiny amount of sauce to go with them — not nearly enough. I have gotten the same call from them so frequently(guessing about 85% of the time) that they’re out of grape leaves, the one thing I can order. Now, when my housemates order from them, I’ve just started making myself some ramen instead.

Food is okay at best, but the service is horrendous. Slow and the owner is rude to customers. Place only stays in business because it’s next to City Hall and the Police Station.

Basically the smallest portion sizes with barely any ingredients. Don’t waste your time here. If you want to get far superior food for less money, go to oasis, or pita kabob, or Amers deli. This place sucks and survives solely by ripping off students.

Ordered take-out from Ahmo’s and decided to get the gyro and fries as well as half an order of hummus. The gyro was simply OK; not the best but not the worst. Unfortunately, I asked for extra cucumber sauce on the side and didn’t get it. Fries weren’t too bad either; they were nicely fried and had a good taste and crispness. The hummus I could have lived without. I’ve had far better hummus at other restaurants in the area and could make my own that would be better. They give you a single thin pita with that half order which isn’t enough. They expect one pita to finish off the hummus, but they are mistaken.

I love this location and used to come here a few times a week when I worked down the street. The gyros are to die for. They arent too greasy and dont leave you feeling like a fat ass. The meat is very tasty and I like how well done it is! The spicy feta cheese option is something you definitely have to try! The tzatziki sauce is very good although runny, it is still yum yum. The fries are something else. They are probably my favorite fries out of anywhere. They give you a ton with the gyro combo and they are big yet deliciously crispy. Dipping them in the tzatziki is my favorite. I’ve hear the lentil soup is very good from my mother and girlfriend and the greek salad is delicious as well. The owner and staff are very very friendly and the store is always well kept and clean! My favorite gyro place!

I would like to review of a wide swath of menu here to give a full sense of its highs and lows. But all I can say is… the salads are fantastic. I keep meaning to try other things, especially the hummus, but I keep getting drawn back to that fatoush salad. It’s not a «real» fatoush in that it’s primarily a lettuce salad, but who cares! The lettuce and veggies are crisp, the dressing tangy and not too oily, and the meat(gyro or chicken shawarma), if you add it, savory and tender. The gyro actually may be the best I’ve tasted. Ahmo’s salads to go have become almost a default option for the nights we don’t want to either cook or go out. Someday, I will venture further afield with their menu, but every time I walk through their doors, that gyro and salad dressing irresistibly beckon…

As far as delivery options go, this has to be one of my favorites. They have REALLY good hummus, lentil soup, sandwiches, fries, and mozzarella sticks. It’s a combination of fresh, healthy Greek/Middle Eastern food with some classic American-style options thrown in for good measure. There is something particularly awesome about getting a greek pita and hummus, but also being able to order some jalepeno poppers. Delivery downtown is generally pretty fast, but it’s easier to go pick up.

Really disappointed with the quality of the food I received from ahmos this morning, it took a while for the food to get here and when it finally did all the food was cold and my salad was warm, I ordered cheese sticks, a falafel and a small Greek salad, the cheese sticks came cold with congealed cheese, the falafel with cold and soggy and the salad was warm and had a good amount of wilted close to rotten lettuce, not to mention the tomatoes were completely soft and seemed to be rotten as well, all in all I feel very ripped off

I was told Ahmo’s was the place to go in Ann Arbor. Maybe with being a Chicagoan, I have a different palate, but Ahmo’s is definitely overrated. I got the chicken gyros since it’s on all of their signs, and I was left incredibly underwhelmed. The meat was bland, the topics weren’t fresh, the sauce was an unidentifiable runny substance(that didn’t taste anything like the tzatziki or white sauce I’ve had with gyros in the past) and my food took a while to come out. The *only* great thing about my experience was the fact that when I asked the cashier what was Zabihah on the menu, instead of just shrugging or trying to convince me the food was without knowing what Zabihah even is, he actually said that he wasn’t sure and called up the owner to ask. As someone who has seen many businesses/servers/cashiers try to dupe their customers who observe religious dietary restrictions, I IMMENSELY appreciated that about the customer service I received.

Bob was great!!! As were the gyros with extra cucumber sauce and the Greek salad with beets, tomatoes, feta, onion, olives, green peppers and cucumbers!

Everytime we order from Ahmos — and I mean EVERYTIME — they forget something in our delivery. At least one thing, sometimes multiple things. Today, after I called AGAIN about the missing grinder from our order, the man on the other end of the line told me I was RUDE after putting me on hold three times! We will not be ordering from Ahmos again, and I suggest if you choose delivery that you make sure your entire order is there immediately, cause calling them to complain will get you some light verbal abuse. I don’t care how good the food is… if you can’t even get it, it doesn’t matter.

Who knew this place would actually be pretty fresh and good? Not me. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice service, the great portion size and the quality of the food. –Salad(topped with chicken schwarma): Basically you can get some greens and put whatever you want on it. I ordered some hummus(it has more of a liquid consistency) which has a nice flavor, cabbage, tomatoes and a few sauces. The chicken is nice and tender and well spiced. It makes for a great filling meal. FINALVERDICT: I’d be happy to try their other dishes and platters now that I know the freshness of the ingredients.

I’ve driven or walked by this place for over a decade, and never went in. It’s not a very good location for a downtown spot, but it’s been there ever since. I tried 2 gyros, and the lamb/beef meat was cooked to perfection, not to mention that the gyros had generous portions of meat too. Very flavorful and the meat was actually crisp on the surface. I don’t think I’ve ever had gyro meat cooked so well. They’re other main food here is pizza, which I’ve yet to try, which is the only reason I’m only giving them 4 stars for the time being. Will definitely not be ignoring this place again.

I love Greek food and I love pizza so the combination of these two at this restaurant sounded like a great concept. Sadly, some of the staff only know how to make one half of the menu and informed us they couldn’t make a pizza when we came by on a Sunday afternoon. Bummer! We had just moved in down the street and a pizza and salad is just what we were craving since all the kitchen utensils were still in boxes. We’ve been back to Ahmo’s a couple times for a gyro and will probably be back again but we still have yet to try the pizza. They are quite generous with the amount of meat on the pitas but I’m not a fan of the pita bread itself — it tastes kind of bland. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean but it’s never that busy inside the restaurant.

I’m writing on behalf of my family. They all love it very much. Me on the other hand was really disappointed with the gyro. Taziki sauce was watered down and meat tasted too meaty like it had an unappealing smell

I so wanted to be impressed, but I’m afraid I was not. We ordered a pizza(pesto chicken) and a salad(Greek). The pizza was okay. The pesto pizza, oddly enough, came with mushrooms, and the pesto didn’t come through all that much. Bummer! The salad was most definitely not Greek. When I think of a Greek salad I think of feta cheese and olives – neither of which appeared on the salad. Though we did get banana peppers and what appeared to be ranch dressing. I wonder if we just got the wrong salad? The delivery driver did not get out of his car. He had me walk over to his car, out in the parking lot, and talk to him through the window. Again, overall, just not impressed. Were I absolutely bored with every other food option in Ann Arbor, I’d be curious to go in to the actual Ahmo’s and get a gyro. But there’s so much else to explore here.

I used to go to Ahmos every now and then because of the value: decent food, not too expensive, so they were to scale. The guys inside seemed nice and the Huron St. location was clean. The low rating for this business came when I was not a customer in 2008, but rather a motorist. I was sitting in traffic in front of their driver and was slow going on green — a simple mistake. The driver pulls up beside me and starts staring at me aggressively so I roll down the window to ask what the problem is. Before I could say anything the driver started spitting over and over again at my car while making a menacing face and swerving towards me — he probably spit 10 times in 10 seconds. I was shocked and freaked out so I slowed down and let him speed away angrily, almost hitting other cars. I quickly called Ahmos to let them know what had just happened thinking they’d be shocked and offer some solution to me: reprimand, handle the situation. Instead the manager immediately got defensive and told me I was over reacting«bro» and should calm down. I asked him if he was serious and he repeated that it’s not a big deal and to chill out. I realized I was speaking to a man who didn’t value customers or pride in his business so I hung up and have made the conscious decision to never go back or support any Issa business ever again. I wish I could give this place a zero because the fact they saw nothing wrong with the behavior of their employee speaks volumes to their values in business and customer service.

Went here yesterday and left pretty disappointed. Ordered the feisty gyro and the margherita pizza. The gyro was fine, but small for the price. The pizza is where we had the problem. The pizza was a cheese pizza with some cherry tomatoes on it. There was absolutely nothing different about it. Just very underwhelmed.

I love the smoothies at all Ahmo’s. They are just the right amount of sweet although still probably diabetes-inducing. Irresistible. The food is okay. Got a couple of combos with an Ann Arbor clipper coupon, which didn’t end up saving all that much money. My gyro was a little dry. The dude at the counter is super snarky at night. Came in at like 10:01 pm(they close at 10pm), and he waited until I went up to talk to him to tell me they were closed.
