I come here a few times a week for carryout. I love that it’s a locally owned small business. I agree with the other reviews. Falafel is nothing to write home about and you could definitely find better in a2. But the chicken shawarma and chicken gyro are great. The place is clean and cheap and perfect for lunch.

Being from Detroit, I’m accustomed to dynamite Mediterranean restaurants being as abundant as churches and liquor stores; on darn near every corner. That is not the case in Ann Arbor. I have Middle Eastern food fairly often and being new in town, naturally I took to Unilocal to help me find the best, most happening places. I ran across this place and the reviews seemed to be consistently good, so I thought I’d give it a whirl. The customer service at this place is excellent. Both times I’ve been here I was greeted warmly and the cashier was super helpful. Unfortunately, the food was just okay. I had a falafel, which was probably my biggest mistake, and my husband had the schwarma. His sandwich was solid while mine left a bit to be desired. Let me preface this by saying I’m a bit of a falafel snob. I’ve had falafel in Middle Eastern and North African countries and while it’s simply street food there, it’s delicious so my bar is set pretty high. The falafel at Pita King tasted like a boxed mix, which is one of my biggest peeves. I’m not sure if it actually came from a mix, but it sure tasted like it. I can make boxed falafel at home. I’m just saying. My hubby’s sandwich had good flavor and a fair amount of meat(as did mine on my second visit), so I feel a 3 star review is fair. Would I go back? Sure, I’m at Trader Joe’s fairly regularly and clearly this is conveniently located. If I am hungry and in the area. I would return. Would I go out of my way to go here? Not at all.

Excellent customer service! Without a doubt, small staff. I’ve been there twice and each time there’s been different staff members, I think. Regardless, always get the positive/friendly vibes. Do NOT recommend getting the falafel. It tasted like they had just nuked it. BUt it also tasted like before they nuked it, that it had been in the freezer for over a year. Soggy, dried up after a minute or two, and crumbled in your mouth. Truly disgusting. Their hummus was on point though. Their salad was a bit too oily, so maybe request easy oil when you go.

This spot is right down the street from work, making it extra convenient for me. Boy was I glad to stumble upon a Mediterranean restaurant so close to work! This place will get a lot of business from me. I had a combo that involved shawarma, fattoush, hummus, and soda. Everything was very good and just like I’m used to at the real king of pita restaurants, La Pita in Dearborn. I think the lunch combo, all together, cost me about $ 8-$ 10. They even have a rewards program. Next time I forget my standard lunch of hummus and veggie and a chicken salad, I’m coming here!

It’s fresh and family owned. The King Pita is ridiculously good. Parking is easy and they are really friendly as well as fast. I’ve never waited more than five minutes. Vegetarian dishes are tasty here too!

This place has amazing and authentic great tasting middle eastern food! The staff is wonderful, it’s family friendly for kids and is extremely prompt with its service. It’s great to have a middle eastern restaurant with good food without having to make a drive out to Dearborn. Check out this gem!

Absolutely excellent service. Very(impeccably) clean and the staff were friendly. Food was way beyond what I was expecting and was both fresh and delicious. To top it off, they are very reasonably priced. Definitely plan on making Pita King one of my top spots to go to grab a bite to eat!

Very fresh very fast! We enjoyed our wrap as well as our salad. My wife really enjoyed the wrap, she said the outside was nicely toasted and the fillings were great. My salad was large and we’ll covered in chicken and the dressing was very tatsty.

I was hungry after coming from Trader Joe’s and decided to stop here since it’s in the same plaza. I asked the person at the counter what vegetarian pita he would recommend and he said the Kareemo is the most popular vegetarian one. It has eggplant, feta, tabouli, hummas, lettuce, tomatoes, a house sauce, and garlic sauce. I went with that based on his recommendation. It was the best pita I’ve had in my life. There was a little kick to it. The falafels in there were very flavorful. The sauces they used were delicious. Everything in the pita was very fresh. The portions are very generous and I was stuffed before finishing it.

We’ve been here a couple times and the food is always delicious. They use a good amount of pickles in their sandwiches which I love. I recently had the grape leaves sandwich and it had a lot of flavor with the tabbouli, you could really tasted the freshness of the parsley. The prices are great and the interior is bright and clean. And the service is fantastic. We’ll definitely be returning here!

Very yummy pita sandwich good for price. I especially like there spicy sauce they add when you ask to make the sandwich spicy. The sauce is not really that spicy at all but adds a perk to the flavor.

This place is great! The food is amazing, the service is so friendly, and everything is ready in lightning speed. The grape leaves are my favorite. I love their hummus and tabbouli, too. They have a great online ordering system that will guarantee your food to be ready in 15 minutes. I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been here 10+ times, for both dine in and takeout, for ordering in person and ordering online, and every time has been great. Fresh, delicious food, really friendly and warm staff, nice clean restaurant. Every dish I’ve tried has been very good, and I’ve tried many :D I especially like the spinach pies. But everything is really good.

Delicious food, friendly and warm service, and cheap prices. It’s near perfect. I loved the Roly Poly in this old spot, but this is a fine replacement. It has your typical Mediterranean favorites, but there were unfamiliar items too. The food was presented beautifully, which is unusual for fast casual, and everything was delicious. The staff was super friendly to boot. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else.

New fast-casual Mediterranean eatery opened up in the Trader Joe’s plaza. Got the Kareemo pita wrap(falafel+feta+eggplant) and lentil soup for a very reasonable ~$ 8(lunch special pricing). Really good lentil soup, nice and thick, rich flavor without being too salty or too lemon-y. The pita wrap was also quite good, although I still think those just down the road at Haifa Falafel are better(at least the falafel varieties, can’t speak for shawarma and the rest). Interior is small, but bright and clean(much more aesthetically pleasing than Haifa), and there’s a TV and free wifi. During my mid-afternon visit, there was just the owner working, but service was courteous and quick/efficient(not sure about peak dining hours). Was also offered a punch card(buy 9 sandwiches, get the 10th free). Be aware that they are only open until 6pm and and are closed Sundays. Overall a solid addition to the increasingly crowded roster of Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern restaurants. Convenient spot for a quick meal if you have other errands in the plaza or nearby.

I was afraid to try this place since i wasnt a huge fan of this kind of food… But guess what, i love this place… Sorry to say but better than Amos if you asked me. I worked really near there and asked if they could delivery it for me(this was before they actually did deliveries) and they were so nice they delivered it to me. The food i got, the ameero combo, was really delicious and the service is great! Im definitely going to come back again with a friend.

I work near this new restaurant and have tried about six different sandwiches, all of them superb. It’s a bright and clean place run by a very nice young couple. You order and pay at the counter, then carry out or eat in at one of the tables. Looking forward to trying everything! Sandwiches are in the $ 5 — 6 range.
