I’m so glad they made it up to Michigan. Subs are awesome. I can tell the business culture is still being learned at this location, but I’m so excited they are here that I’m willing to wait for development! Great place. Go here! Keep it in Michigan!

I really wanted to like this place more but my sub(medium New York steamer) had very little meat. What I had tasted good, but I don’t expect to eat a $ 9 lunch and leave hungry. Maybe if that particular sub had some veggies on it, it would have been better maybe. I like the concept, and I like the whole firefighter angle. I just wish there was more meat to love.

I went to Firehouse for the first time at this location and the food was great. I ordered the Hook & Ladder which I highly recommend. Plus, the staff was super friendly and helpful when I had questions about the menu. Overall, the atmosphere was cool and the experience was great. Go get your Firehouse on in Ann Arbor!

The subs a real treat to have as a better option in town. The meats and cheeses tasted really fresh. I get tired of Jimmy John’s, and this place really did it for me. I’ll be back!

I’ve eaten at several Firehouses while traveling the US, and the Ann Arbor restaurant is among the best! The décor is the best I’ve seen, and the food is reliably delicious every time! The staff were helpful, they asked if it was my first time at a Firehouse and offered a tour of the menu. The BBQ brisket is my favorite and this one was no exception. Taking a walk through the Diag after a delicious dinner was a great way to wrap up a busy work day!

After haircut, needed to fuel for the rest of the day and decided to swing by Firehouse since I was only a block away. I went in and it wasn’t busy… there was only one table with a family of four. I went to the counter and ordered New York Steamer Sub. I got the larger one with the pickle and a drink. I like their fountain drink machine, as the last time I used such device was at Atlanta airport. But I have to agree with other reviews, if this place was busy, getting a refill would be a headache. I opted for my usual Diet Coke with Lime, granted, I’ll have to try other drinks next time I’m there. The sub came out within few minutes. It was hot… since there was no veggies, it was very easy to eat. They did put too much mayo and mustard, but overall the sandwich was decent. I would have to say though, it’s in the line with Jersey Mike’s and other high end sub joints in town. The interior is full of fire fighter design… parking is some what hassel, since you’ll need to park on the street or at the parking lot deck.

3 ½ stars would be more accurate. Decent place. My brisket sub(«Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket») was very tasty, but somewhat expensive for its diminutive size. I wish they had a wider selection of sides — perhaps some fries. Grabbing a bag of chips from a rack isn’t much of an option(a drawback Firehouse shares with Subway, DiBella’s, and many others). The firehouse decorations transformed what could have been a very dull restaurant space into a bright atmosphere that perfectly fits this chain’s theme. The staff were friendly and helpful, and quickly ascertained that it was my first visit. The sandwich maker talked me through a few menu items and answered some miscellaneous questions, then pointed me down to the other end of the counter to place my order. The manager made regular rounds in the dining area to see how everyone was doing. Everyone I encountered was cheerful and knowledgeable — they run a tight ship. I had a little fun with the«freestyle» beverage machine — I’d never operated one before. Its interface is reasonably intuitive, and I soon had a large cup of cherry Sprite Zero. I’ll definitely try Firehouse again, but I do wish that the prices were a little lower OR that the portions were a bit bigger. They told me the regular size was 8 inches, but I think a Subway 6-inch sandwich is easily a bigger sandwich, and considerably cheaper.

Good brisket sandwich. Spent at least 10 minutes at the pop machine trying all the different flavors. Probably could do without the welcome to firehouse when I walked in, but the service was quick and polite. They have a bunch of different kind of hot sauce to sample. Good stuff.

This place is good. A solid hot sub place. Nothing too special about it but it seems like it fills a niche in the area. The staff are friendly and the service is very good. I’m not a huge fan of their soda dispenser though, all of those options makes for a slow moving line.

I went here for the first time today. I got the NY Steamer, because I’m a big fan of corned beef. I got it on a wheat bun. I have to say that it was very moist and tasty. The staff was very helpful and friendly. If you ordered to eat in, they will actually bring it right to your table without having to pay tip. The manager actually went around and asked if everything was okay. He was being a real cutie. He saw that we were done with our food, and asked if he could take our baskets for us even though there’s a place for you to bus your own trash. Another awesome thing is that they have a really cool soda machine where they have 120+ different flavors. I really like the environment here and I would come back here! =)

Oh Firehouse… you are finally here!!! And you made me SO happy today at lunch time. No really, I did a little dance in my office before I headed over for a sandwich. I was introduced to Firehouse Subs out in Virginia Beach by my brother. I was hungry and crabby, so my brother, being the smart man that he is, shuffled my hungry butt over to Firehouse Subs. Now, I’m not a huge«Sub» person. I mean I’d rather have something hot than a foot long… I’d rather make a sandwich or order pizza on my own then have something melted with cheese and pepperoni on it. So yeah, I was skeptical. But then? I had a Hook and Ladder… and I. Was. Hooked.(Yeah groan all you haters at my pun!) Given that Firehouse was started by firemen, the sandwiches are pretty decent in size. There’s no fancy toppings on here, just some lettuce, tomato and onion(give and take what you like), but they toast the bread and there’s melted cheese on this puppy. My two favorites as of right now, are the hook and ladder and the club on a sub. There are a ton of choices and there are two cold subs– chicken salad and tuna salad. They also have an assortment of hot sauces as well as their own house hot sauce. I am a fan of the house hot sauce. In fact, I have a bottle in my house to spice up baked chicken and anything else that can use a spicy BBQ sauce. With a 32 oz,. drink from the«choose your flavor» Coke Freestyle machine and a pack of chips, it makes a pretty decent meal. I was so happy when I heard there was going to be one in close proximity to my office. They just opened yesterday, but I was happy that it was in time for me to come back to work :) You should definitely try it out.
