The Avtomobile Store

Last week I was in Ann Arbor, strolling down memory lane, when I stumbled upon the new store, Avtomobile. As I descended the stairs, I was transported from Ann Arbor to a finely crafted Americana Boutique. I was shocked! This is hands down the most original and interesting shop in Ann Arbor.
The vintage selection includes some of the most sought after designs and brands in the classic outdoor Americana motif. On top of that, the stores own designs are original and exciting. far exceeding the stuff you see at similar boutiques in New York.
After talking with the owners, a lovely young couple with major industry experience, I discovered what gave this shop its charm. I can’t wait to see all the great things they do together, because I have a feeling this is just the beginning.

Nifty keen! This shop feels like I’m in a shwanky Upper Pennisula shop. Love the style. Love the wood burning incense. The woman there sews a bunch of stuff, reused and her guy prints the tee shirts. I love it and the only reason I haven’t dropped any money there or give all 5 stars is that there are very few items that would fit over my ample chest. I’ll probably be back for the Pendletons, shoes and tees, but the really neat stuff is clearly for the small breasted. Again.

Worn, vintage, hand selected clothing reminiscent of outdoorsy UP Michigan. Prices are on the higher end for a vintage shop, but the clothing and accessories are selected in good taste and quality.
Let’s just hope they get enough business and foot traffic to stay going! I’m confident that this place will be a hit with Ann Arborites so long as the word spreads through word of mouth /​good marketing.

I can’t believe this shop managed to fly under my radar until today. The shop features original artwork and clothing from the owners, as well as a variety of vintage and re-​worked pieces. Everything is tasteful, singular and affordable.
The owners were extremely welcoming and have a great attitude; they are obviously passionate about what they do. Their T-​shirt designs alone are worth the trip.
There really is nothing else like it town, or perhaps anywhere in the state of Michigan.
