Because the Banks Vacuum store chain is so dishonest, I was forced to search outside of the metro Detroit area for vacuum service. Thanks to Mary’s Unilocal review, I found The Vacuum Store in Ann Arbor. I called in advance to make sure they could service my brand and was assured that they could. The store is located in a strip mall on the South side of Jackson Road, between the Hyundai and Subaru dealers. If you’re Westbound, you’ll need to make a Michigan left to get there. You can enter from Aprill Road on the Hyundai side or directly from Jackson on the Subaru side. The store itself is clean and well organized with a number of vacuums on display with prices clearly marked. They carry both home and commercial models. Jim greeted me promptly, listened to my description of my vac’s problem and recommended their basic service($ 40), saying it may require some additional parts and would take a few days. I left it and he called three days later to let me know it was ready and did indeed need a few small parts that along with tax took the price to $ 55, quite reasonable and the vacuum is working well again. These folks are running an honest business and deserve support from the Unilocal community!

Évaluation du lieu : 5 Ann Arbor Charter Township, MI
I originally went to take my vacuum to another store in Ann Arbor where they diagnosed it as just needing a tune up, which would cost me $ 69! On my $ 100 vacuum from Meijer. I said to the guy that that was a little steep(I think ridiculous might have been my exact wording) and he just kind of was like«yeahhh well…». I then stepped outsides and looked up other repair shops in the area to get a price comparison before deciding on anything. I then called The Vacuum Store, and spoke to Jim, who I believe is also the owner. He said they only charge $ 34.99 which seemed to be a lot more reasonable. I took it in that same day, a Monday, and he said it would be ready by probably Wednesday. Sure enough, he called on Wednesday and it was all done. He was very nice and I was happy with the turn around time. It also needed a new belt which cost a whopping $ 2.50. My vacuum works just great and while I can’t speak for any other services besides a tune up, I would highly recommend checking out this store before going anywhere else.
