Probably worst experience Freezing AC Cold food Long long time from in door to receiving food Lots of workers but little service or interest in serving public

Filthy restaurant! Every table was dirty, both garbage cans were overflowing, the tray that my food came on was dirty and the food took forever. Will not be back

White Castle! Clean restaurant, friendly staff, fast service and today I had six jalapeño cheese sliders and a cherry Coke. Life can not get any better than this!

Food is supposed to be the way you ordered it and they accomplish that every time. The downfall is they take forever! They are very slow workers! I waited 15 minutes in the drive thru after I placed my order then I finally decided to drive off because I was going to be late for work. It wasn’t «Fast Food«My order was 4 burgers, 3 piece cheese stick and a drink. It’s convenient because it’s .5 miles away from my job; next time I’ll have to make sure I give myself 30 minutes to place my order and receive my food. Also returned the same day and decided to go in and order my food because the line was the same as before work. I then placed my order, got my 2 drinks and my food wasn’t ready yet. It took me another 10⁄15 minutes before you I finally got my order! Sad part my food wasn’t even hot.

Meh. Underwhelming. I’ll be honest. I’ve only wanted to go to White Castle because of the movie — which I haven’t even seen. And then my mom got their frozen burgers one time when I was a kid and I thought I liked it. My sister came to visit me and as we were driving home we made an spontaneous decision to pull through the drivethru. Their burgers are small. And seemed too expensive individually to be that small. I definitely wasn’t expecting that. I probably came in with unrealistic expectations but nothing really blew me away about their menu. Maybe I didn’t know what to look for. I did appreciate that the guy patiently waited for us to take forever to decide what we wanted in the drivethru. As such we didn’t go inside and I can’t judge. But the food didn’t wow me. I would have needed quite a few of those sliders to fill me. The sliders were also meat, ketchup and some onion slices — not much substance. But all in all, it’s not a bad place. I’m sure it’s staple fast food to people from the area, but I have no burning desire to return any time soon.

If you’ve had White Castle you know how addictive those little sliders are. They are cheap so you can shove your face with as many as you can handle. The clam strips sound off putting but are extremely good. Watch out for drink portions I got a large and it was basically a gallon of pop. It takes a couple minutes as they are making everything fresh but it’s always worth it. This location has the friendliest employees I’ve met.

I had to eat here because of the man in my life. No regrets. Well the guys are nice if you are nice to them, seems like hard workers. We enjoyed their little burgers and their mac and cheese bites are yummy and I love their iced tea also. They are always busy.

I miss this place, used to eat here all the time when I was still living in Ypsi/Arbor. Now I live in California and there are no white castles here, although we have in n out I do miss the white castle once in a while, the taste is just unique and special compared to other fast food. Anyway, this was my favorite place back in the days and they always serve fresh and hot sandwiches. Never experienced anything out of the norm so I recommend this to everyone.

Steamed burgers with patties smaller than drink coasters. Trace amounts of ketchup and mustard. Possibly some beef-based ingredients. Cultural touchstone of my father’s childhood in mid-century New Jersey. This is not a gourmet hamburger; but every once in a while, it really hits the spot. I figure on 6 cheeseburgers for myself; 4 – 8 sliders with fries is sort of the sweet spot. The fish can be a bit fishy, and the chicken can be tough — I stick with beef. Physical location isn’t particularly dirty… it’s just a little tired. Most of the staff is surly and oblivious most of the time, but if you can get their attention and smile, they brighten right up. Several of the customers seemed to be camped out for the day — bird baths in the bathroom, charging cell phones, and drying outer layers. Not concerning to me, but certainly not a first-date atmosphere.

I could not believe it when I drove down the road and saw this place. I didn’t really believe that places like this actually existed in real life. I mean, sure, they have it in that Harold and Kumar movie, but really? They have these places in real life? I had to try it out. The food is fine. It’s fast food. You’re not getting anything special with it. So, If you’re okay with that, then you’ll be fine. Otherwise, your only other option to get some Whitecastle burgers is hopefully in the frozen food section of your local grocery store.

Why are Unilocalers upset or confused by a steamed burger?! This is not a grilled patty! It is not supposed to be. It is a simple burger with simple garnish. That is what White Castle is all about. Get over your fancy self and enjoy it for what it is – an oddly satisfying meat patty between two pieces of bread. Eat and repeat!

We ordered the jalapeño cheese sliders, a sack of onion chips and their loaded french fries. The food here was better than any other White Castle I’ve ever been to. The sliders seemed well prepared enough that they weren’t left soggy or too dry. The sack of onion chips were freshly fried and crisp. It basically melted in my mouth in every bite. The loaded french fries had a good amount of cheese and bacon on top which was definitely a plus for me. Overall, friendly customer service and great food. We will be returning for more :)

Really friendly staff. You will occasionally get surveys on your receipt and get 2 sliders for filling it out. It’s open 24⁄7 which makes it an excellent stop after your late night shenanigans. The jalapeño slider is the best. FYI for all you hopeless romantics out there, they do this waiter service silly get-up during Valentine’s day.

It’s the only White Castle in the area so we don’t have a choice when craving a jalapeño slider. I think the employees know that and can get away with being snippy, as they won’t lose business. This White Castle is consistant: You will get attitude if you don’t know what you want the second they are ready to take your order, you will have to wait a decent amount of time for your food and it’s always hot and fresh. Just have a thick skin if you choose the drive through.

I love that there is a White Castle in Ann Arbor and that it’s open 24⁄7. The service here is friendly, but not always the fastest… and every so often, they’ll get my order wrong. But gosh, do I love White Castle. Especially those jalapeño cheeseburgers. If only they actually served breakfast starting at midnight, like the Breakfast Menu says… I’ve been here at 4 am, and they weren’t ready to serve breakfast yet. :(

When I used to live in Ypsi, I would grab a bite to eat here from time to time on the way home from work, or whenever I was craving some white castle. I came here yesterday to get my white castle fix with a girlfriend of mine, and o, how it has changed. From my memory, the dining area is 100% different from what I remember. They must have remodeled since I was gone, and it feels lot smaller. Parking was the same, but it seems to have gone through some changes inside since I was last here. Its white castle, so I kinda know what to expect going in. Service was nice, food came out quick, and the burgers were as tasty as I remember them. I wish we had White Castle in Phoenix. I’m not sure why they haven’t expanded, because I am sure they would do well. Thank you white castle!

I was never a fan of White Castle and to be honest, still am not… however I have gotten used to their burgers. The first time I had White Castle was in college… I ordered 12 burger pack(they no longer have this)… after eating about 3, I gave up… I took the rest back and gave it to my student employees… while I only ate only three, the taste stayed with me for couple of weeks… this is why I never returned to White Castle… fast forward 10 years… I have gone back to White Castle couple of times now and to be honest, I’m not sure why I couldn’t handle the burger the first time I tried it… now, I have no problem gobbling the little burgers down… I only order Jalapeño Cheeseburger. When I bring it home, I then add jalapeño peppers to the burger, it gives the extra kick. Give the place a try… don’t expect much, but for the price and what you get, it’s worth it.

Eating sliders was our first order of business once we found ourselves in a part of the country with White Castles. We weren’t even deterred by the clue of my cousin never having tried one despite having lived a mile away for 30 years… we put it down to probably being a healthy Ann Arbor semi-vegetarian. Well, maybe she was saying it was too sketch, so we took our booty to go. That everything we ordered fit into a tiny bag, was kind of disappointing, and they certainly didn’t look so good arranged for this camera photo sent to evoke jealousy in our off-spring. Hostage Gastronome was amused by their very characteristic responses: HG Jr. texted, «Lucky», Don’t-Care-As-Long-As-It’s-Food wrote, «Jerks», and Social Gourmand was partying in a noisy club so didn’t answer. On to the eating… Double Cheeseburger was similar in taste to a McDonald’s but not as good or big, and more expensive. The Jalapeño and Fish sandwiches were nasty. When we saw fried clam strips on the menu, we said, «oh, calamari», but we were wrong. I don’t think anything was even named a «slider». I know we weren’t the first to be led astray by Harold and Kumar. I get that it was about the craving, not the taste, but too bad the screenwriter hadn’t chosen a place that could somewhat deliver… Krispy Kreme should have put up the product placement bucks!
