…well…emphasis on «take away»!!! We expected a diner-esque experience — from the web site and other descriptions — but that’s not this place. Food was ok… I had chicken veg soup… later in the day, and it was well cooked down… But you can’t tell be me so much… soup is good food… I imagine as a quick sandwich take-out place, it does well. All in all, a fair experience… just not what we expected from the write-ups.

Came in with my husband after having our car serviced and between the Crab Cake Sandwich and their Lobster Roll we were not disappointed in the least bit! Sample their dip as well! Wish I would’ve bought a jar! Highly recommend and two new loyal customers!

Surprise, surprise! I stopped in here one day when I was passing through and had the chicken foccacia. Wow! It was SOOOOO good! Was so impressed I brought my wife to try the food and she is a really picky eater. She thought the same thing and adds that they have really excellent bread and rolls. Also enjoyed their barbecue pork.

I’d come by again after spending time at Sandy Point Park and being in the area. This café is in a nondescript plaza and seems there is a bakery by the same name two stores down. 4 is probably too generous. 3.5 is more reasonable as I felt the warmth from a typical mom/pop café was missing. We ordered a chicken focacia sandwich and a lobster roll, two bags of chips and it came to $ 26. Not bad considering there was a lobster roll in there. The lobster roll was tasty. The meat had diced, fresh celery mixed in which I didn’t anticipate, but didn’t mind. My roll didn’t look as impressive as some other Unilocalers’, but for $ 14 it was awesome value. The chicken focacia was pretty tasty. Mozz cheese, chicken breast(not deli cuts), crispy rosemary focacia and mayo. Service was quick and we didn’t wait long to satisfy our appetites. Your plates are brought out to you and you can leave your plates on the table once finished. The inside is nothing special to see, but does the trick on a warm day. I also did not like the flies buzzing about and lounging on tables. I wouldn’t seek out this place unless I was in the area, but enjoyed the option for seafood and above average sandwiches in an otherwise isolated area.

oy vey. Unilocal led us here on the way up to Sandy Point, but I guess this is the one time Unilocal lead us off the beaten path through some thorny shrubbery instead. I had a pretty simple BLT with avocado between slices of toasted wheat bread(does not come with mayo — great for my wedding diet!) The avocado was a $ 2 upcharge… but browning comes free with your $ 2 avocado apparently. My friend who got the crab cake went«oh no» and recounted what he saw: an indistinguishable lump that went into the microwave. THEMICROWAVE. Ten minutes later(or a really long five minutes)… we heard the distinctive beeping of a microwave. Reports were that this microwave-nuked ‘crab cake’ was bleh. The bbq was mushy and meh(had a slight not-so-good sour taste and disintegrated texture). I did like the side of creamy mac n’ cheese, which tasted amahhhzing after I added some good ol’ reliable Old Bay! You can dine in or take out at Caroline’s, but I wouldn’t really recommend either unless you’re hungry.

This is definitely my favorite deli. I love the lobster rolls and the tomato and mozzarella sandwich.

I’m sitting at my sons game at Broadneck Park when I suddenly got extremely hungry. I start Unilocaling. I notice Caroline’s Gourmet which caught my eye because I’ve been an Annapolis resident for 32 years and I’ve never heard of this place before(and I’m brand new to Unilocal — this is my second time using to find a random, new place). I saw that they closed at 7:30. I had 21 minutes. I leave immediately and rush over. I was only rushing because I knew it was about to close and I know how employees feel when a customer shows up at the last minute. The guy, I didn’t catch his name but in small talk, I do know is from Berlin, Germany. He asked if I was in a rush and I said«only because you guys are closing in a few minutes. He assured that I take my time. I ordered the Chicken Focaccia. I asked for balsamic glaze which unfortunately isn’t available but settled for balsamic vinegar. Then my son texted me wanting food. I asked if he would mind making me another sandwich especially when it has already passed closing time by that point. took a pic of the menu and told him to hurry and order. Both of us devoured our sandwiches. I will definitely be back(and have already made mentions of this place to people)

Great spot for a quick bite. Food is always fresh and consistent. Specials are creative and solid. Lobster rolls are heavy and flavorful. Suggest taking some Low Country Dip home with you.

Stopped to see if they had an ATM machine; they don’t. But seriously AWESOME lobster roll! The place looks dated looks like they’re remodeling, fast service! I ordered the lobster roll went to the rr and it was ready! At first I thought this bun looks like plain white bread, I hope I’m wrong… I was it was toasted on the sides, warm, soft, and sweet! I wish I would have gotten 2 of these babies! The lobster was not dry or slimey(some places make their lobster roll like tuna.) overall extremely happy to have stopped by

Grabbed a quick lunch here because it seemed like the only decent place in the area. Ordered the LOBSTERROLL and side of SWEETPOTATOFRIES. Great chunks of lobster but my roll was burned. So that offset the sweetness of the lobster. Sweet potato fries were nice and sweet but again they were very very soggy. Good quality lunch but needs better execution on the cooking.

Gonna keep this short and sweet. Had the Chesapeake chicken sandwich, cream of crab soup, and fries. Delicious. Recommend it. Very small, but nice place in a deserted mini-mall. Fresh, good food and great service at a great price. Will def. be going back, especially to try breakfast.

Drove out here because I wanted a shrimp roll. I don’t know what they’re supposed to taste like, but this was pretty good. Not too heavy or greasy, which would have been a turn off.

Love this place. We had the crab soup and Caesar salad with crab cake added. Fantastic. Expensive but worth every penny.

Ordered the BLT and the italian sub. Honestly wasn’t terribly impressed; I’ve had better sandwiches down the road at WaWa. The food took a rather long time to come out and include no side with the sandwiches. Prices were a bit high for what was served. The menu was extensive however and I’m willing to bet(hope) their specialty items are more up to par, but I honestly probably won’t be going back.

DOIT. Yes, it’s in a random strip mall but don’t be put off. We were doing work in the area for about 6 weeks and went here almost every day for lunch. The food was consistent and consistently excellent(except apparently one day of chowder that was a little off from the usual). They’re not the quickest(especially at breakfast), so be warned if that’s your pet peeve, but it’s worth the 10mins or so you have to wait. The food isn’t anything crazy, just a solid upscale/gourmet sandwich that steel feels homemade, classic, fresh, and filling. I’m not a huge seafood person but my friends were drooling over the Chesapeake chicken sandwich(has their crab dip on it). The staff is super friendly and took excellent care of us over our time there. Thanks Carolines!!! I can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I stopped here after enjoying the beach nearby. I got the lobster roll sandwich and a bowl of the crab chowder. Loved both of my choices. My husband ordered the blackened chicken Caesar wrap which was good as well. We left satisfied and our tummies were happy! The other items on the menu looked great as well. We will be coming back!

Caroline’s lobster roll is TODIEFOR. Reasonably priced, as lobster rolls go, and stuffed with a ton of meat. If you want them to go and don’t want them to get soggy they will pack them as kits. The ice tea is great and their low country dip is the bomb. Haven’t ordered any of their other sandwiches because the lobster roll is just so damn good.

Wonderful cakes but the takeout have been spotty. The lobster roll is decent but taste like canned or frozen lobster meat. Most other takeout items are lackluster but ok in a pinch.

We were starving and thanks to Unilocal this was just off the HWY and had a raving review. So done and done. For under $ 20 we have a most excellent lunch for two. Had to go with the BBQ platter and an amazing Italian Sub. Most excellent food & many things to try. It’s a great little find that we will make sure we stop at any time we come through.
