Went in looking for brisket speicfically, but the only cut they had, was not up to par in my opinion. They had a lot of other stuff, but I was specifically looking for brisket. Prices looked reasonable, hope to be able to give it another try! Sad how few butchers there are in this area!

There aren’t many real butchers around anymore. Mike Smollen is a real butcher. Since we stumbled on My Butcher & More a few years ago I’ve been to three of his classes and had a private knife sharpening lesson. We generally stop by to stock up for holidays, whenever my Italian FIL visits(he loves their prosciutto), and in response to their sales on e-mail, Facebook, and text message.

This butcher offers some serious meat selections. I have tried a couple different cuts of meat and found them to be excellent. They also serve sandwiches and carry a small assortment of sauces, dairy products and BBQ accessories. They have delicious made on the premise sausages. Vital Statistic: Only true butcher in a 50 mile radius. Very nice looking dry aged steaks, but be prepared to shell out some serious money for these high quality steaks.

Great place! A couple of weeks ago, I went with a ½ price deal and got a great deal! 2#s ground beef for $ 5. While I was there, I also bought the spicy italian sausage… some of the best I’ve found… and creamy cherry ice cream… to die for! I agree with Janet K, we need to support this business who supports local farmers. Their quite friendly too. Stop by and try their stuff!

Stumbled upon My Butcher when I just moved to the area and wow! Great fresh meats! I didn’t see a huge array like I thought I might, but I got the feeling that they would«cut» anything I wanted. The steaks we got were luscious and the ground sirloin seemed fresher than any I’ve had in years. We got fresh scrapple(!) and it was just like I had when I was a kid! :) While there, I was starving so ordered a super sandwich that used Boars Head Meats to go. I can’t wait to go back for another! Nice little find for a new Annapolis transplant.

Excellent butcher – super friendly, helpful people! I have been a few times, but the lastest visit that«sealed the deal» for me was right before Hurricane Irene. Not only were they open Saturday afternoon, but they still had some bread, milk, water and most importantly of all, gorgeous meat! I was shocked that they were not swamped, but sadly they said that business was actually down because people were getting all of their supplies from grocery stores. Unilocalers, we need to support this terrific business that specializes in locally raised meats that are dry aged and perfectly cut. They even carried my food to my car for me in the pouring rain. I highly recommend them!

Phenomenal butcher shop! The staff is quick and friendly and very knowledgeable in their products. They have every type of meat and cut you could possibly think of! Love the convenience of the store in the Clock Tower Place with other great stores. There is a lot of collaboration with Tastings Gourmet, and Wine Cellars of Annapolis and Maryland Farmers Markets which gives us shoppers a wonderful shopping experience.

More people need to know about this place. In a time when it’s hard to find more than choice meat, here is a place where you can pick up, only things you might otherwise have to order through the internet. The have everything from local grass fed beef to USDA prime Dry Aged beef. Amazing steaks, veal, pork and gourmet items are to be found. The owners are personal and friendly. They love their products and their fans. Clock Tower center where they are located, sat empty for years, but now with the Gourmet Store, Wine store and My Butcher and More, it’s becoming a destination for any Annapolis foodie.

Fantastic sandwiches. Never again will I stop at Subway or Jerry’s on the way to the marina. Generous portions. Good bread. Fresh meat and the right amount of dressing, oil and/or spices. Surprised to find it in Annapolis and not in New York City.

If I am having a cookout and want to be sure that the rib-eyes will be flavorful and tender, I go to see Mike at My Butcher. Yes, it’s more expensive than Giant or Safeway, but then I’d be comparing apples to oranges. I love the fact that the owner is always on premises and ready to answer any questions. It reminds me of the local butcher shop from my childhood. Their deli sandwiches are thick and delicious. Support a local business and shop at My Butcher! You won’t be disappointed!

Great locally owned and operated butcher shop and deli. They have a wide variety of all things meat — including sushi-grade tuna, Roseda Farms dry-aged beef, air-chilled chicken, and Kobi-beef burgers made in the store(plus great pork products NOT injected with any sort of solution — and homemade sausages). We’ve been buying most of our meat from them for several years and have never been disappointed. A couple times each year, we buy cut-to-order grass-fed NY Strips for our freezer, and they give us a bulk discount and individually vacuum pack each steak. The meat itself, is really great quality and the service is knowledgeable and friendly. In addition to being a butcher shop, they also sell Boar’s Head brand deli products and sometimes have killer home-made brownies(funny story about the brownies, actually — we had stopped to pick up our big batch of steaks and also got two BIG brownies to take as dessert to some friends’ house that evening — we carefully closed up the paper bag containing both the steaks and the brownies and left them in the car while we went to Staples Corner liquor store for more supplies. When we returned to the car, our evil Wiener Riley had managed to get himself from the front seat to the back(which is not easy for a little dog) and had chewed through the heavy plastic on one steak and eaten the brownies! So I can also add that their steaks and brownies are dachshund-approved). Their hours are limited for the winter months, so it’s best to call ahead to make sure they’re open(right now, I believe, they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). They have a limited web site( ) and you can also subscribe to their e-newsletter — which, for some reason, is intriguingly and consistently(and perhaps annoyingly) peppered with what must be on purpose misuses of the apostrophe — a bit of folksy charm perhaps, or a clever ploy to get people to call and point out the mistakes?

What do I love about this place? First of all, besides the butcher shop there is a deli too! So you can get great sandwiches while they get your meat order together. Hanger steaks, tri-tips, kobe beef, ground lamb, ground bison… just a few of the different cuts of meat you will find there. I am a big fan of this butcher.

Think you can’t find a great butcher anymore? I beg to differ. My Butcher and More, in Gambrills MD, brings back that old time quality and service that seems to be lost these days, and certainly not available in your local supermarket. My Butcher and More carries an outstanding selection of above average cuts of meat, with a definite nod to beef. Hand cut steaks, pork, sausage and nice variety of Boars Head Meats and Cold Cuts. Cheeses are also available, along with a nice variety of bbq necessities, sauces and even a limited selection of vegetables. Aside from the excellent product selection is the outstanding service, which starts with Mike the owner. If you have a question about meat, Mike is your man. Don’t see what you want in the case out front? Just ask, they probably have it in the back.
