Can’t believe they aren’t serving custard anymore because of an egg shortage? I see plenty of eggs every store and also from the farms I pass. I think they don’t want to reduce their profit margins until the egg stabilize or go back down. The soft serve ice cream as they stated taste the same, close but no way. If I want soft serve I’ll pay 1.50 or 2.00 instead of 4.00. I’ll come back when the bring back custard. They reduce the prices until they get custard back.

Being from Seattle, custard shops are rare, so whenever I see one, I have to stop and try it. Yesterday night after a long day touring dc and and epic seafood feast at fishermens crab deck, we decided to get off highway 50 after seeing a dunkin donuts sign, which by the way, we also don’t have in Seattle. After driving for a little while down this small country road, we saw a plaza where dunkin donuts was at. In the same plaza, I saw Rita’s custard shop and was immediately drawn. I told my brother, he can have dunkin, I’m going for custard. After grabbing a box of donuts, we headed to Rita’s; being my mom and my brother’s never had frozen custard, we all ordered one. Out of all the custard shops I’ve been to, Rita’s ranks pretty high on the list for being super creamy and not overly sweet. Looking for a sweet ending to a nice dinner or a date night? Look for Rita’s here on the east coast and order a custard, you’ll be happy and satisfied

Love, love, love Rita’s! I only wish they’d stay open all year… I need some chocolate custard even in the winter months!
