A Wild Hair Salon and Day Spa

I went to have low lights and a hair cut. I arrived around 1235pm and was taken right away, no wait time. Low lights were applied, however it changed the color of my hair to a drab grey brown color still showing all my white at the roots. So a second attempt was made, after letting it process, my hair was now a very dull blue grey and I was told that she would apply a toner to address the color. The second stylist there knew I was extremely upset and she looked at my hair and told me the only way to remove the color was to do a bleach soap cap and that my hair may be damaged from the process. I allowed her to lift the color and she stayed with it removing the bleach as soon as the color lifted. She had to leave the salon for another appointment and could not finish trying to repair my hair or fix the color. My scalp was burning, my hair was a frizzed reddish blonde. I do not bleach my hair, and the only time a blow dryer or straight iron is used is when I have the low lights put in always followed by a haircut. My hair is naturally curly. I left the salon at 5pm and was told I can come back when the owner arrived back in town which would be around 8pm. I made the choice not to have my original stylist try to do anything with my hair. I received a phone call to come back to the salon at 8pm and the owner would look at my hair. She said she could put some lowlights in to cover some of my white roots, however, my scalp was so irritated that I said no to anymore color, so I asked to have a conditioner put on my hair and to have the dried ends cut off. The conditioner was applied and my hair was cut. So now I had spent 5hrs and 30 minutes at the salon walking out with bleached hair, my roots were still showing and a color that I never was not my choice. I was leaving out of town the next day and I asked if when I return if she would put low lights in hoping to get back to my normal color and get rid of some of the red. She said to call when I got back, however, as I was leaving her salon I asked if I owed anything and I was told $ 45.00 for the haircut. I was speechless, I paid the $ 45.00 and left.
I would normally never write a bad review, however, to be charged for any service after my experience there, walking out with bleached red colored hair, an irritated scalp and my roots still showing plus having to give up almost 6 hours just blows my mind. You may ask why did I pay it, because I was greeted with a waiting area filled with her family and friends/​employees and felt very uncomfortable speaking up and refusing to pay.
Is it me, or does anyone else feel this was not handled properly.

I was new to the area and thought I would support the local business. I called up and explained what I needed — nothing unusual just a cut and color. I was booked in with Samantha. Sam is very sweet and engaging but just «meh» in the stylist dept. She kept saying «If you don’t like it just come back and I’ll redo it». Well I went back to her and explained how the color just seemed to wash out after about 10 days and how the cut seemed a bit heavy on one side. She was very nice and redid it all. With the same results. Color washed out and not a great cut. Another stylist at another salon actually commented on how uneven the last haircut was without me saying anything about it. I moved on and so should you. There are better stylists in Anthem.

I’ve been meaning to update this for some time now, so here we have it.
Again being new to the area, I was looking for a place to get a great cut and highlight with of course recession friendly pricing. I called at about 11 am on a Saturday and was in Lesley’s chair by 12:30, so already they’re doing alright in my book. Lesley and I chit-​chatted a little bit about what I was looking for cut and color wise, and then she went to work, while talking ‘salon gossip’ and such.
An hour and a half later I looked into the mirror at what can only be described as the most stunning highlight and cut I have had, EVER. The cut was exactly what I wanted and highlights where beyond expectation. AND best of all with in my budget!
I have been back to see Lesley twice now and each time is like a religious experience, and I always walk out looking truly fabulous.
