I have tried this place 3 times now. I like to try multiple times before really coming to a conclusion about a restaurant. Disappointed every time. Smells like rotten fish when you walk in. The last time I went they had a few new Thai items on the menu that were decent.

Great place for fresh sushi! The servers are friendly and helpful. Quaint little place that always makes you feel welcome. Fantastic happy hour!

This place is gross. Have tried 3 times in case I was just not in the mood for what I was ordering. Nope, gross everytime. Was served undercooked chicken and sushi does not seem fresh. Service is slow and on 2 occasions servers were very rude. Wish it was a good restaurant since it’s close to home, but I will drive down to norterra and go to ah-so. Pricing is similar at the end of the meal with better service and quality.

The words suck and badley-don’t even do this justice. Go to Frys next door and get the week old sushi and you may get an idea of the culinary delight called Ebisu. Staff had no knowledge of the menu-got things we didn’t even order(but rest assured that we paid for it)-seemed to take a long time to get our food even though it was us(5 people) and just two others at the bar-and the food… terrible. I have lived in the area 6 months and this is without a doubt the worst meal I have had. Read the reviews and beware.

Ambience was certainly based off of RA sushi, however there establishment did feel inviting. Sushi was mediocre… tempura was prevalent to possibly mask quality… sashimi was nicely displayed but thin compared to other establishments like Sushi Brokers. This restaurant serves the needs of Anthem residents, I just hope they understand this is not the the pinnacle of sushi.

This place has drastically deteriorated. LITERALLY the tiniest rolls I have EVER seen. Precisely the size of a hot dog cut in 5 pieces. I ordered 7 rolls and 2 appetizers for three people and I am leaving hungry. When I mentioned the questionable size the waitress, who was nice but seemed new, she was told it was because they used less rice. The las vegas roll was the size of a regular roll and the regular rolls looked«cute» Price is the same as most but definitely do not get your money’s worth. Not a recommendation and the last time I ever come here after 3 years of patronage

I have eaten her 2x now and love the sushi and the prices. The weekday service girls seemed a little lost and slow but the Saturday night crew was on point. I ordered tons of different sushi rolls and loved them all. The deep fried stuff is ehh ok but ever thing else is amazing. My favorite is the volcano roll and the ninja puffs!

Horrible Place Below average food Stinks like rotten fish when you walk in Rude nasty owner I used to go at least 3 times a month when the previous owner was operating. The food was really good and you felt welcome. Under this owner the restaurant is very poorly run and I don’t feel comfortable eating the food or even being in the restaurant. I will not be going there again. Beware it seems the owners like to fill out fake reviews in the favor.

TERRIBLEPLACE! Bad service, and bad food. Definitely not run by true Japanese. The sushi did not seem fresh, the korean food was just okay. It is not worth the money at all. Will not be going here. Also FYI, they have a lot of fake reviews on here by the owner’s family members.

I wanted to like this place more since their drink specials and servers were really great, but it was below mediocre food. I ordered my food to go and had a beer while I waited for my food. It was $.99 for draft bud light, I’m not a huge beer drinker so bud light is just my style! The to-go food definitely takes a while. So you’ll have to be patient. I ordered the Ebisu special roll and a roll that had seared albacore on top(I’m forgetting the name). Food was okay, the Ebisu special had too much eel sauce for my taste. In general, something about the food just didn’t seem fresh to me. And portions were pretty small for the price. I’m a huge fan of sashimi and I’m so glad I didn’t order that here! Definitely not one of the best experiences with sushi here. Giving it 3 stars due to service!

Was my first time here. I asked for a salmon avocado roll. The waitress showed me the menu and it wasn’t on there so I just went with a salmon roll. Very fresh and tasty 6 pieces of sushi. It tied me over before lunch. Didn’t really have such a substantial experience here, but my waitress was quick and amiable.

No wasabi or ginger served with three different plates of rolls. Happy hour menu not a huge savings and not that much selection on rolls. Some food served warm. Service spotty.

Sushi was good but every time we order takeout it takes 15 – 20 minutes longer than when they ask that I come get it…

Used to go here quite a bit in the past and always had a good experience. This place always seemed to be packed on a saturday, so i was amazed that this place was empty on a saturday night(which is never a good sign). Not sure what changed here but the portions are much smaller now and the level of food quality is not the same. I was quite suprised about what happened here and wont go back…

The portions are small and the service is non existent. If you do end up eating here it might be wise to sit at the sushi bar. It took forever to flag a waitress down when we needed something. At least if you sit at the bar you aren’t at the mercy of the waitress. At the end of the meal my husband asked if soup came with the meal(he was still hungry). The waitress said«it’s complementary, you have to ask for it». We won’t be going back to this place… ever.

My husband and our family moved to Cave Creek last year. We have a few favorite sushi destinations that became long distance destinations for our last minute sushi binges. We were hopeful with this place. Decided to give it a try. We were seated by a host we had to stand and wait to even see for about five minutes. No waiting area with seating is available… And sushi chefs did nothing to let the host know we were waiting. It seemed very unorganized and no value in someones time. After being seated we were not asked what we would like to drink, the hostess left us with a happy hour menu and hopped off to the back. So we decided heck we will just order it all at once if we are to do this waiting game each time. We FINALLY got a waitress after she wiped three tables off directly in front of us to ask us what we would like to drink. And before we could spit out our food orders she spun off towards the back I assumed to get them. VERY hurried character for such a slow evening. She brought our drinks out in which my kids were very impatient about. We ordered a few items off of the happy hour menu and a few from the main menu. And waited probably 30 – 35 minutes for her to come out with not even half our order. WEWERENOTHAPPY, because as she was setting down our rolls she informed us a few(5 actually) happy hour rolls were not actually available for the happy hour price and she accidentally handed us an old happy hour menu! So starved by now we just wanted to eat. When she had handed us the happy hour rolls I had told her it was in fact her fault that she had done this and we had made our order with reference to that specific menu, our order should be honored at the prices we had for them. no compassion or care at all that she had just doubled our sushi order that night to an unsuspecting young family going out for a nice dinner. She stated when I asked her to get her manager that the manager was not there and she could not change the order without approval. Our 40 dollar dinner turned into an 80 dollar dinner plus drinks and tip. The sushi was small for price, could have tasted fresher, atmosphere is bar like, and dark, and the staff are high school or high school mentality. VERY unhappy and never will return to this place. It is now our small joke when one of us mentions sushi nights. «Oh I know the best place, lets go to Ebisu!» and we stare at each other with blank stares and laugh monotonously. Never will return, doesn’t even deserve one star.

New owners. All new servers. Can’t decide if they want to serve Korean food or be a sushi joint. The happy hour changed and service is slooooooow. Oh! And the music is all Korean music! Can’t even enjoy the tunes! Doubt I will go back.

Better to buy Sushi next door at Frys. The wait for service is horrible. The wait staff seems to be unorganized and unable to cope with the Monday night crowd.

It’s really a shame that this isn’t a great restaurant because there are already so few options in Anthem. My parents and I came recently on a weeknight and there were maybe seven or eight other tables full, with two waitresses and a bartender serving. We were seated immediately, but it took at least ten minutes for our waitress to come by — not even with waters, but to ask if she could get us anything to drink. Our beer came out just fine, but we had also put an order of edamame in at the same time and we kept waiting for it to come out. When we saw another group come in, get drinks, order, and get their orders of edamame before ours, we knew our order had been forgotten. Instead of owning up to it, the waitress told us it was«on the way out.» I would have potentially believed that if she didn’t also forget the seaweed salad when she brought the rest of our food — with the same excuse. We also heard our waitress yell at her mom(the bartender?) for forgetting to bring wine to the table next to us. The food was fine — I can only tell when it’s bad, not distinguish between fresh/okay — but really, I wouldn’t recommend going there unless you have some extra time to spend. From the other reviewers below, it seems like slow service is a common occurrence.
