Simply the best. I refer everyone that I know and they always come back for more! All the guys in the shop are really friendly, and never a hair out of place. I’ve left many other barber shops feeling like they rushed me I to and out of the chair to get the next customer, not these guys. They take their time, and do it right!

I’ve gone here over a year now and I would recommend them to anybody. Jerry cuts my hair and he does an outstanding job. It’s rare to find a really good barber that you can click with naturally and I believe these guys do a great job. Just moved out to the area and lookin for a solid shop to go to. I decided to check this out as the first shop and the inside of the shop is DOPE. Jerry (Jay[Dee]/Owner) cut me up and gave me a gentleman’s razor bald fade. Never experienced hot towel, shaving cream lather, and straight edge balding. Made me feel like they were pampering a VIP. Seems like a pretty underrated shop with the classic/​vintage feel inside. Felt really welcomed and will definitely come through again. Thanks!

After moving to the Antioch, many years ago I began looking for a Barber Shop where I could get a decent consistently good «gentlemen’s cut.» It would seem to be a simple need. I have tried many in the area and there was always something missing. There’s nothing missing here! Jerry Alvarez is a local guy who makes me feel comfortable in the chair and also makes me feel like I look my best when I leave.

The atmosphere is awesome, nice old school vibe. The people were great, the conversation was fun, but the haircut… literally the BEST haircut I’ve ever had! Victor had me looking like a million bucks. My new number 1 spot, period!

First time here. Jerry and the rest of the guys very welcoming. Asked what we wanted on my son and understood right away. Definitely recommend this place.

Legit old style barber shop. The price is right here as they give excellent haircuts. The barbers finish the haircut with a hot shave cream lather and straight razor. The menthol rub wakes you up when it’s over. Appointment only so call in advance and cash only.

JayDee’s Classic Barber Shop is by far the best barber shop around! I have been a customer since they opened up, and I always make my appointments with Ronnie. Ronnie is good at any haircut, pays very close attention to detail, and gives a consistently perfect haircut every time. But it really doesn’t matter which barber you go to, they are all equally as good.

Rude as f’:($”!!! I was a walk in… I guess it’s by appointment only well I didn’t know that since it was my first time walking up… I asked are you guys still giving cuts? And there respose was no make a appointment… I’m going to keep going to Wayne’s they aren’t stuck up enough to make money on a walk in.

Definitely the best place in the East Bay Area to get a haircut.
They do work off appointments, so make sure you get that arranged at least a few days prior.

First of all, don’t let the fact that there’s no bruthas working there fool you. All these cats are versatile. While waiting for my cut, I was amazed at some of the meticulous designs that they were pulling off. The standard here amongst the three barbers here is equivalent to that «one barber» that we all wait hours for to get cut elsewhere because they have one barber that «can cut». They ALL can cut. I knew I walked into the right shop where these youngstas were using a straight razor! Not that common of a practice nowadays! 5 star experience! Only other advice… make an appointment. Worth it!

This place is simply the best.
Both my husband and my very wriggly 3.5 year old son go here, and they always come out looking amazing. Jerry does great work and makes you feel at home. The prices are really good– I pay $ 14 for my son– but just remember it is cash only!

I had to find a barber last minute do to overload at work, I was too busy and didn’t have time to make it to my go-​to barber. I called about 12 barbers in the Brentwood, Antioch, and Pittsburg area. I got ahold of Jay Dee’s and asked them for availability, the man on the phone told me $ 40.00 a cut, $ 60.00 for a face shave and cut, so $ 60.00 an entire head. He told me his line was almost full and those were the prices of the day, I asked him if I could get a cut in 15 – 20 minutes and he said yes, I told him I’d be there shortly. I walk into the shop 15 minutes later after driving down from Brentwood and he says «We closed it up at 1pm» …
I understand that every barber shop in the area was either closed or overbooked because of Christmas, but to tell someone come down and get a cut then send them away upon arrival is just unprofessional.

First thing’s first, I am writing this review from my personal experience as a LADY!
I had a cute A-​line bob going on up until i decided to chop off all my hair two months ago. Being a newbie to short hair, I am totally clueless when it comes to barber lingo and all that. I desperately reached out to a few friends for recommendations on barbershops/​barbers. Luckily my friend DJRonald gave me all the contact information to JayDee’s Classic Barber Shop! He told me to ask for David and told me I should make an appointment a week or two in advance.
So as my appointment date reaches closer and closer, I was nervous, of course! Ive never been to a barber shop so I had no idea what to expect! I even had no idea what I wanted done, It was hard for me to explain since I was still fresh in the whole «short hair scene» haha.
Thankfully David was so patient and understanding and really took the time to perfect everything to my liking! His fellow barbers even gave tips and ideas during the process which was helpful for me and David, so we can better understand each other.
Its safe to say I am more than pleased with my hair cut. David’s lines are so precise and his fade is perfect! He’s got a great personality and talent. Can’t wait for my next appointment in two weeks!

JayDee’s Classic Barber Shop is definitely the place to go to get a haircut in East Contra Costa County. I would have to say that most people in the area already know about this barber shop and their owners. However, if you don’t, and need to get a great haircut, call them to make an appointment. There are 3 barbers at this locations and they all do a fantastic job.
JayDee’s was opened in downtown Antioch a little over 1 year ago by two highly motivated and entrepreneurial men named Jerry and David. I have been personally getting my haircut from Jerry for the last 8 years and I could not be any more pleased with the results. So if you’re new to the area or looking for a new barber, don’t hesitate to contact JayDee’s. They will take good care of you.
