OMG so I have gone here for years and I have always loved the food. The service lately has been very very very slow, but the food was so good it was okay. We brought home Won ton soup the other night and when my daughter went to re-heat the left overs yesterday we found a MAGGOTFLOATINGINTHETOPOFTHESOUP. So so gross I will NEVER go back again.

I’ve been coming here for about 15 years, since they were at their original location. It’s not cheap but there’s no other Chinese restaurant nearby that is anywhere near as worth the money. Everything is always 100% fresh and delicious– I’ve yet to have a dish there that I don’t like. Their honey walnut prawns cannot be matched– and I have tried and tried. Their hot and sour soup is unparalleled, the crispy calamari and crispy chicken with lemon or garlic sauce is great. Their take out takes time but that’s because they’re good so they’re busy. When it’s this good it’s worth the wait. Only complaint is I wish they delivered! Then I could enjoy them more than the handful of times a year I’m able to go out!

Ok so everybody has a bad day, when it becomes more than just a one off I get concerned, had lunch today and service was not good, the Mgr was distracted to the point that it took her 4 times to Remember to get the tea, everyone seemed to be sleepwalking on the bad becouse we enjoyed dining with them in the past. moving on. I hope but don’t count on this review on being a help,

Really busy on a Saturday night but the mushu shrimp and duck are excellent as well as the vegetable fried rice.

Good food. Its just not a place to take your little kids because everyone is packed in there like canned sardines. Especially with overloaded sensory-stimulated elderly Sommerset folks

Is one of the better Chinese food places and all of Brentwood. My wife is Chinese and finds their food very very good. The orange beef is delicious and the sweet and sour pork is good. My wife likes their sweet and sour soup.

I’m currently in college but I’ve been going to Tao since I was in elementary school. I’ve always considered them the best Chinese in Antioch/Brentwood. It doesn’t matter what you get, their food never fails. My boyfriend worked here & they treated him great. Before bashing the company, I wish people would realize that they only have one cook in the back preparing your food.

Poor service tonight, waited forever for a soda refill. Had to get up from my table and walk to the bar to ask for a refill. Had a glass of water and there was a strand of hair inside, showed the waitress the glass, and she was shocked to hear about it. Other than that the quality of the food was good.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area Everything taste great but my favorite is their Fry Wonton and combination fried rice. And the service is fantastic I used to eat in but now with 2 boys I order to go. lol They always help me out to my car without me even having to ask and that’s a plus as a mom with her hands full. lol If your in town you must try their food you won’t be disappointed trust me!

I’m not sure what’s happening here — but this is not the Tao San Jin it used to be. I called to place an order for pick up and the lady who answered the phone said it would be an hour wait. When I told her that I wasn’t waiting an hour for wonton soup she said«Oh! Well I didn’t know all you wanted wonton soup! I’ll call you when it’s ready». 20 minutes later I call her to see if it was ready and it wasn’t. When I told her I wanted to cancel the order she sounded happy to lose the business. I’m never coming back.

Terrible. We had reservations for a birthday dinner(7 people) and they did not walk to our table to be seated nor did they give us an adequate number of menus. We had to ask for menus, water refills, tea(that did not end up coming out until the end of our meal), and more menus! We told them we were there celebrating a birthday and it was like they completely ignored that. I suggest finding another restaurant that values their customers.

We found this restaurant when we moved here in 2008! We love their Hot & Sour Soup, Won Ton Soup, Crab Rangoons, Three(3) Chicken special, Chow Mein/Fun & Fried Rice. This restaurant is our favorite Chinese Restaurant for special occasions & small dinner parties. People are friendly and treat all members as a «special» guest. We love what Lily has created with her team!

I have been going here for awhile and when I went for lunch on Monday was really disappointed. Normally even when it’s busy, the staff are on top of it and I don’t have to worry about going for my lunch break which is an hour. However, my friend and I were seated after about 3 – 4 minutes then waited another 8 – 10 to be able to order. We then probably waited at least 30 minutes for our order of broccoli beef and sweet and sour chicken, after we watched a table of 6 who came in after us receive all of their food. Then to top it off, the sweet and sour chicken was cold. I will go back, but not if they are busy. It was frustrating.

I am sad to say we showed up at 11:30 am and the door was locked and we seen workers in there so we knocked a young guy came to the door and said we will be open soon there is a problem in the kitchen for one have a sign up on the door and don’t make customers wait in the rain to eat POSTIT so we do not have to wait. No apology o nothing said to say we will not be returning. Three are two many choices of food in this area.

I’m not sure if the owners of the former Antioch-Buchanan road location owns this place or if there are new owners. I’m sad that the original location closed down so I thought to give this place a try. Unfortunately I wasn’t even given the chance to try this place out. My family and I wanted chinese food so it was either Tao San Jin or double dragon. My mom loves dishes from the original Tao San Jin and told me that the bentwood location was still open. I called on a Friday night to place a to-go order and surprisingly enough no one answered for 30 minutes. The phone kept ringing and ringing without an answer machine picking up. I assume this place is still open as I saw recent reviews. But I don’t know as they never picked up my call and I haven’t tried to call them since.

Bland, tasteless food. You should not need to drown your food in sauces in order for it to have flavor. The portions of the a la carte menu items were generous, but the food is horrible. I was very disappointed.

I’ve been a loyal customer for over five years. This place is no longer managed by the owner but by a previous waitress who has ZERO customer service or communication skills. Look at the gross«crispy noodles» I ordered. When I asked for a small size of dry noodles they said they would charge me for an entire new order. Laughable since you know a small dish of noodles costs them ten cents. Never again!

The other location to Tao San Jin in Antioch is one of my favorite Chinese Food restaurants. I’ve been going there since I was a child. That being said, I have not been impressed with this location. My husband and I decided to come to lunch one work day for mid week rendezvous. We had their lunch special. My choice was the Cashew Chicken with steamed rice and the appetizer. We also received a small Salad. The app were these little fried chicken wings. We loved them. They were delicious. I was also happy to see that the soup that came with lunch that day was the Egg Drop Soup. I love Egg Drop soup and I’m usually confronted with the Hot & Sour soup during most Chinese place lunch specials. I cant stand Hot & Sour Soup for the most part so the Egg Drop soup was great. I did have to add salt to it but I was happy. Now to the entrée. The steamed Rice was completely dry and hard. Like its been sitting out for hours possibly days. It was terrible. The Cashew Chicken was pretty good. It wasn’t a huge amount and I was able to finish it at one sitting. Not that I don’t like left overs but I did have to go back to work and carrying a take out box around with me all day isn’t what I was looking for. For the price you get a perfect amount of food. Id be wary of the Rice though. It was really bad. Service at either location may not be personable but they are very fast and efficient, so no complaints here. Hopefully dinner would be better and I would absolutely come back because I am a fan of their family of restaurants.
