Found Welcome Smog in one of the coupon books and figured I’d try them out for my 2008 Mazda Miata. Family owned, very friendly and courteous. I forgot my coupon and he still gave me the coupon price. I highly recommend Welcome Smog to anyone in the Antioch/​Brentwood/​Oakley/​Pittsburg area for their smog test needs.

Have gone to this place once before and the man who preformed the smog test seemed nice. I went back to get a second vehicle checked a year later but this time the same man was completely rude!
He was dismissive and short with me, will never, ever, ever go back here!

The guy was friendly when I called. I called them because the other place I tried to go to had a wait of almost 2 hours. He stalled out my car trying to pull it in to the bay area. Had me do it. Complained that another car broke down on his dyno similar to mine. Asked me if my was going to break down. It wouldn’t. He all of the sudden told me that I would have to go somewhere else because he didn’t want to take a chance smoging my car. Took it down the street and that place had no issues. Never coming back. Even if the state told me that I had to go to that specific shop. I’d rather have it crushed.

I have no idea what K.G. is talking about below. Sounds like he had a vehicle with emissions problems. It’s possible to have one emission issue fixed and there’s another one behind it. That’s not the fault of Welcome Smog or their equipment, but the vehicle. I have taken four different vehicles there for a total of six smog tests. Passed each one. The pricing seems similar or a bit better than other stations. The benefits of Welcome Smog? They’re fast, they get you in and out, they’re family operated and nice people. I trust them to not jerk me around. I highly recommend them.

I’ll admit, I know next to nothing about the pricing of smog tests but I needed a Test Only done and they were available. I had called ahead just to make sure I could get it done today and was happy to hear they could. I already had Google Maps up for directions but they went the extra length to make sure I could find my way there. Too many places just say ‘Okay’ and hang up.
When I drove up, there was ample amount of signage to let you know they were located in the back, drove in, let them know what I needed, then sat down to read a bit of Game of Thrones.
Once they were done, they said the car passed but they recommended an oil change. I knew I needed one since it had been more than 3 months but it felt good to know they were looking out. Took them all of another 10 minutes to get it done, then took the time to give me some advice to check my oil levels at least once a month as my car is a bit old and leaks were just a fact of old car life. Paid then went about my day.
Pleasant reception and effort made to make sure I was well informed, all with a smile. Thumbs up for me.

This is a rip off smog test only station. They will say $ 25 off but their price is way over the average of smog test charges. Estimate of $ 97.00 total. Then, it will fail your vehicle, the guy will tell you specific problem 14 days to retest. When you come back for retest, it will fail again with a new specific problem not related to the old one. I have a neighbor who experienced the same issue from this smog station, went to another smog and passed with flying colors. Fix you equipment for accurate measure.

Welcome Smog is a Family run shop and they know their business! I went there last weekend to get my Jeep smogged and they took care of it in a flash! I appreciated the additional work they put in to make sure all my modifications were legal prior to starting the process. I will be going here from now on and I will be letting people know!

They are as good as car care gets. I’ll never take my cars anywhere else. If you live a ways away, they’re worth the drive, trust me.

Fast and easy and very friendly

I found Welcome Smog Station on the AAA website. From the moment I called, I was glad I found them before going someplace else. Even though I had to drive a little further than I had planned to for my oil changed and smog check that day, it was well worth my time. They not only offered a great discount but were VERY friendly. The owner was very helpful, I felt very comfortable and happy with my decision to go to them. I will only to them from now on. As a single female, its nice to know I have someplace to go now that I can trust will do an honest job for me!!!

This is the only place we take our vehicles for smog test, including our company trucks. Owner is very knowledgeable.
