Maplehurst Inn

My hubby and his two friends were on a motorcycle excursion. They stayed here their first night out. My husband made the reservation because he wanted something more «local» than a chain. They found the place so overpriced and dumpy that my husband dreads the teasing for the next ten years about it. Some furniture looked like botched efforts in shop class. Other furniture looked like the owners did some dumpster diving to find it.
The «breakfast nook» was also used to store old mattresses.

I stayed here a few times due to the location. If not absolutely necessary, I would not. The first time, we were offered a group rate to fill the hotel. Upon checkout, I was charged full rate. Her excuse was «we did not book soon enough». Two years later, the «bed and breakfast» was just «breakfast».
This time, our bed was so loud every time we moved, I did not sleep. When I aske for another room, she said there were none. When I asked again later, she said she was too tired to clean the empty one. Hospitality? She then charged another couple $ 75 extra for three kids. The youngest was 7. The website says 8 an over get charged. The breakfast was cold and they lied again when I asked if there was beef in the sausage (food allergies) then te other lady came out and said yes there wa beef in it after I had eaten it. I’m not staying here again. I’ll drive ½ hr to the next town.

Julia the owner is great, but I feel the inn needs updating, the rooms have had some bad reviews and they are quite expensive. She needs some good people that know the hospitality business and I hope she finds it because I would like to see this Inn prosper.

Julie, the owner, is a warm and lovely person who is committed to upgrading this hotel. However, she needs more support from the town of Antrim so that this place can become a centerpiece for the village.
The hotel is 100 years or so old and the rooms do need some modernization.

This place is a dump.
DO NOT STAY HERE.
The rooms stink of smoke and the sheets don’t get changed.
The «homemade breakfasts» they claim are store bought muffins still in their plastic casing.
They offer up free wi-​fi, but wouldn’t give us the password to access claiming it belonged to somebody else. Still don’t understand that one.
Avoid this place at all cost. There are far too many quality places in the area that are hospitable and comfortable.
This place no or negative stars.
