Great haircut at a great price! Ruben is amazing! I will definitely be back! He has magical hands. My favorite part of getting a haircut is when they wash my hair and Ruben has magical hands. As for the haircut, it’s the best one I have gotten in years! He did and incredible job. If you want a great haircut for a reasonable price, Charismatic Hair Salon is the place to go!

Privately owned business. Not a clipping conveyor belt. Come regularly and they know your name, your kids, parents, etc.

New to the area and decided to give this place a whirl since it had pretty good reviews. Ruben listened to what I had to say and did a very nice job cutting my hair. Affordable, clean and very friendly. I will be back and would recommend to others looking for an affordable family salon.

I love this place! A true hidden gem in Apex. Ruben and his wife are very talented. Ruben cuts my hair and does an amazing job. I look red carpet ready when I walk out. I recently had him color my hair (very dark brown) and add a few medium brown highlights and I couldn’t be more pleased. He also styled side sweeping bangs that look like a magazine photo. Feel like a million bucks and I’ve been getting compliments for months now! They are also very reasonably priced. Ruben is originally from Ecuador (I think) so he has a cool accent and has been cutting hair since he was a teenager so he knows his stuff. One side note is that Ruben is a very funny person and sarcastic too. So if you don’t have a sense of humor, are too sensitive, or take life too seriously (like that one reviewer), this won’t be the place for you. But if you laugh and smile easily, you will fit right in. Give them a try… You will be really happy you did!

I am writing this update about 6 weeks after my experience because I would like to change my comment about the «decent color». It’s actually pretty bad. What initially was a plainish brown has now turned to a coppery color that is much lighter than my natural color, resulting in some terrible, very tacky looking roots. Additionally, my hair seems to have been damaged by the color. When I went to another salon to have the cut fixed, the stylist commented on the texture of my hair. She noticed (as I had) that it felt very heavy and like there was something waxy or greasy on it that could not be washed off. She said my hair felt like boxed color from the drugstore had been put on it. That weighty feeling has finally been washed away, but now my hair is extremely dry. So much so that when I get it wet in the shower it feels like straw and clumps all together.
Honestly, the entire time I was there I felt like I was on an episode of Tabitha’s Salon Takeover. My «stylist» told his wife to «piss off», there were hair clippings all over the floor and chairs that no one swept up the entire time I was there, and the wife moved another bowl of color away from mine saying she needed to do that because «he will totally use the wrong color.» When I looked at her with a worried/“seriously?!” look she said, «Well he won’t now because I moved it. But he would have.» After I was done I was never given the opportunity to see my cut from the back. So much hairspray was sprayed onto and around me that the air in the entire salon was visibly foggy. As I was leaving another patron came in and began to cough a lot. She said she was having an allergic reaction to something. In an annoyed tone my «stylist» said, «An allergic reaction to what? To us?! There is water in the back if you need it.» As she continued to cough uncontrollably I could not get out the door fast enough.
So, in the end, there is not one redeeming thing about this place. Terrible cut, terrible color, terrible service, terrible experience.

Great place! Surprised there aren’t more reviews. I have to admit I was hesitant when I walked in– in a random location right next to a gas station with nothing impressing about the décor. If that doesn’t bother you– you have to try this place! Ruben gave me a great cut/​color. I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted and he gave me some great feedback/​ideas. He’s been cutting hair since he was 19– and his experience shows! My hair is thick and can take a lot of extra time. He did a wonderful job and it’s one of the speediest cuts I’ve ever gotten!

This is a gem! Hidden in a tiny strip of shops at Davis and Old Jenks road. Not only are their prices reasonable (which is so hard to find these days), but husband and wife team Christina and Ruben are great! Christina gave me an amazing cut and used her magic talent to blow out my very curly hair giving me a head full of straight hair with incredible body and shine! They have been a secret for too long! This is NOT a chain, nor is it big, Whether you have straight or curly hair, run to this salon! Wish I had found them years ago!

Cost is like SuperCuts but service is excellent, and since it is a husband and wife team, you can establish a relationship that will be there the next time you get a haircut! I got a great haircut and I have found where I’ll be going from now on. My hair is short and has lots of layers and I’ve already received compliments. I had the same hairdresser for 20 years and just moved — with no one to recommend anyone I turned to Unilocal.Thanks to those who gave good recommendations before me. I am a very happy new client!

Loved my experience at Charismatic Salon! I got an upscale looking cut and color at a really affordable price. Christina really listened to what I asked for and did a phenomenal job. I could not be happier with this salon! Definitely a 5-​star experience.

This is a local family owned salon that features walk in service at great prices. It is not an upscale salon, but a family salon.
