Heard about this place so decided to stop by to grab dinner to go for the family. At first, it was a bit odd as it was in a gas station with an attached middle eastern market. It was even odder when I found out that the store proprietor was also the chef! Kudos for multitasking! We ordered several platters… the lamb kebabs, mixed meat kebabs(chicken, lamb & kofta) & the chicken schwarma. All the platters came with hummus, fattoush salad(chopped salad with cucumbers, radish, tomatoes, green onions & lettuce in a vinaigrette) & pitas. The kebabs were taken off the skewer & served on a bed of buttery rice with mixed veggies. We were all very happy with our meal… the meat was all tender & well seasoned. The lamb did have a little spiciness to it which was a bit too much for my 8 year old. Everything was very flavorful, well seasoned & the portions generous. I’m glad there’s a place like that in Apex… it is a great healthy alternative to all the burger, wings & pizza places!

Went there for the 1st time tonight. The food was really good. The owner went out of his way to make vegetarian dishes for me. My husband really loved the lamb. Their hummus was fantastic. Both of us loved the falafels. We will definitely be back.

So this is my second time here. My first time here the food was amazing so I had to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. So first off, the consistency of the food is the same! Therefore, you get the same amazing food all the time. I have been to Greece and other parts of the Middle East so I would have to say this is as close to as authentic as you can get. The food is all homemade, never the«frozen and reheat» type of meals! For the money and portion size you get this is well worth it as well. Don’t be fooled that it’s attached to a gas station! Inside you can also find a really neat little market. His pricing for spices and meats(including lamb) are cheaper than the stores and more fresh! Would I come here again? Absolutely! Would I recommend it to a friend? Most definitely as I always bring people here as a little Gem of a place in Apex that offers a different type of food with a great variety!(Even foods for kids such as burgers and chicken sandwiches) Plus…you can check in online through the app for 15% off! So take advantage of that and give it a try!

When I moved to Apex I felt what it really lacked was a good place with gyros. Then I ran across Fattoush. While the restaurant doesn’t sell gyros they have shawarma which is about as close as you can get. I tried the chicken shwarma and loved the seasoning of the chicken. The true judges were my kids and they destroyed it. The prices for the shawarmas are $ 7-$ 8 and they are decent size. I’ll definitely be back to try them again. The restaurant is pretty small and if you blink you’ll miss it driving by. It’s located in a small plaza near a gas station.

Went in with a coupon for one menu item free when one equal or greater is purchased. Ordered two shawarma sandwiches but they would not allow us to trade the fries that come with the meal combo(fries & drink) for any other traditional Mediterranean side. So we ended up getting grape leaves & baba ghannouj. When paying, the order sounded more expensive than we expected & he told us he took off the cheapest side we ordered instead of taking off one of the sandwiches as the coupon explicitly states. He said this would always be the case unless we got two platters, in which case one would be free. Our orders were already being made at this point… thanks for the heads up bro! We asked for the coupon back so we could come back & use it for platters, and he tried to save face by giving it back & still giving us the cheaper side for free. We got to-go, only to realize 2 miles down the road that we were given no pita bread for the BG& no taziki sauce for the grape leaves. We went back & they were glad to give these to us. Shawarmas ended up being ok, but overly spiced. Grape leaves were dry & without much taste, & taziki sauce was very runny so it was hard to get any on a bite. BG was tasted good but we’ve definitely had better. The pita bread was by far the best part of the meal, which doesn’t say much cause there’s plenty of places that serve soft warm bread. While it wasn’t absolutely terrible, almost everything was a letdown. Even with coupons still in hand & good deals available on Unilocal,we probably won’t be back since there’s really good places like Bosphorus, Jasmin’s, Tarbouch, Taziki’s, and Pita Bön close by.

Poor experience. We went because we saw it in our coupon book and had never been. The coupon was for 1 item for free of equal or lesser value which at any other place would be about half off because they would take off a main menu item. We both ordered shwarmas and added our own sides because we didn’t want fries. They only took off the cheapest side for a coupon so I asked to keep my coupon for the next time when we order a platter. We don’t like that you can’t choose the sides for your platter like you can at any other Mediterranean place. We got our food to go because the man working was not welcoming. In the car we noticed they didn’t even give us any pita for our hummus.

I am Lebanese so for me to give 5 stars is amazing. The Kibbeh was so wonderful. Much better then I’ve had at other local Mediterranean restaurants. Also, the Falafel was fresh & crispy. The Mediterranean platter is so plentiful. Also, the pita bread is thin the way it should be. The owner Mahmoud is very pleasant & friendly. It’s a no frills place but everything was cooked to order so it’s very fresh. Can’t wait to go back.

Great Mediterranean food right here in Apex. If you like Neomonde or Jasmin, you’ll love the food here. Authentic, fresh, nearby… They also participate in a type of ‘pay it forward’ food program for the needy.

This was wonderful! The food was yummy and flavorful and everyone there was so nice! They gave us so much food and a little extra just because. Plus they give back to the community.

Don’t be put off by this being attached to a convenience store gas station. I was in Apex for work — my corporate office is about a mile from here. If you like Middle Eastern, this is the place to go in the RTP area. I had the chicken kabob plate and it was fantastic! Included was a good portion of chicken, rice, hummus with pita points and a salad for $ 9! Insane good deal! I cleaned my plate and was full and happy :) I have already told my workmates about this place and will definitely go back here when I’m in town again. Thanks, Fattoush!

My hubby and I started coming here on a Tuesday and frequented them two additional times that week. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is always friendly. The interior is clean and there is a wonderfully clean fragrance in the air. It is connected to a halal market which is also owned by the family. So far we have had the falafel platter and the falafel sandwich and fries. Both were absolutely delicious. The falafel was crispy with a great crunchy texture on the inside. For both the falafel was served with fresh greens and tomatoes and tahini. The pita had that perfectly crispy-chewy-fluffy texture. The fries were lightly dusted with seasoned salt, crispy and hot. Best of all, they have a feed it forward program! Inquire with the owner for all the deets! Great place to get a yummy falafel sandwich in Apex.

My wife and I had never had authentic Mediterranean food until tonight. From the moment we entered Mahamoud made sure to educate us and help us pick out our food so that we got an assortment of food to try at the best price. The food was awesome! To put that in perspective my wife hates hummus, that is until she tried the hummus here. They also have a small grocery store next door if you would like to take home some things to try for yourself. We will definitely be going back.

My husband LOVES Mediterranean food and we were happy to see another restaurant opening near us. We had a deal with our credit card to try Unilocal’s new Eat24 ordering system and noticed Fattoush participates, so we gave it a shot! It was an easy process and when I arrived to pick it up, it was ready. Fattoush is located adjacent to a gas station, but that doesn’t deter me – I remember when I got amazing Indian food at a gas station. We got the beef kababs(with an extra kebab), chicken shwarma, and a piece of baklava. The beef kebab was tasty but seemed like there wasn’t enough meat. The chicken shwarma was also tasty, but was dry. The baklava was delicious. TL;DR: A nice addition to the Apex area, the food didn’t leave much of an impression.

Read reviews of Fattoush that said décor wasn’t much but food alone warranted a 5. Wow was that misleading. The décor and food are both a single star. The restaurant is connected to a convenient store adjacent to a gas station. You can literally walk from the restaurant right into the store. The tables are all different materials. The owner made an effort to be accommodating, offering to make us breakfast items even though it was lunch time, but since the reviews raved about the Mediterranean food, we opted to try some of that. The Unilocal reviews had a 15% discount and the owner gave us our drinks for free. We paid $ 18 for a vegetarian sampler and a chicken shwarma, which the owner recommended. We gave the owner a $ 2 tip. Our horrible meal began when we got our drinks. Both the sweet and unsweet iced tea tasted unsweet and both tasted old and bitter. So we dumped the iced teas and got Dr. Peppers from the fountain machine. They were poorly mixed and so bad we didn’t want to waste our calories drinking them. So we went to the convenient store and bought a Coke and an orange juice. Both of THEM were old and bitter tasting. It was obvious that the chill hadn’t been consistently maintained. That was another $ 5 down the drain. Had seen a photo of a vegetarian sampler plate but when we looked at the menu above the counter, it wasn’t listed. I showed the owner a photo of it which included 4 falafels. He said he could make us a vegetarian sample plate but when he read off the components, falafel wasn’t one of the items. I mentioned that and he said he could replace grape leaves with falafels. We waited a good while and when the vegetarian sample plate was brought out, it only had 2 falafels, not 4 like in the picture. That was unfortunate because the falafels were the only good items we were served. The one hummus was ok, not great and the other was bitter and inedible. The chicken shwarma had very little chicken and what was there tasted burned. We got up and walked out after like 3 bites. It was like burning $ 25.

You can’t go wrong with the chicken shawarma. There are other Mediterranean dishes worth the trip. They also sell baklava and other sweets. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant is family owned and operated.

I stopped by with the family about a week ago on a Wednesday evening after a kids volleyball game at Apex Community Center. This was around 6:30 pm and for a while, we were the only customers there, although eventually another family showed up for a total of 8. I’m not too concerned about décor as long as the food is good, but in this case, the food didn’t meet my expectations. We regularly eat this style of cuisine from multiple area restaurants, so I have a pretty good comparison base. My wife ordered the the Chicken Shawarma platter and I ordered the Beef Shawarma. One of my kids got the Chicken Kabob and the other got a Kibbeh kabob plate. The kibbeh was OK and was average in taste. The chicken kabob and shawarma were pretty good — maybe avg to above avg. The beef shawarma, unfortunately, was NOT very tasty. As a matter of fact, it was probably the worst beef dish that I have ever ordered from this type of restaurant. The meat was very tough and gristly. Almost like they took whatever was left over from other trimming, spiced it up, and served it. I was really quite shocked at how bad it was. I should have taken it back to the kitchen, but since the rest of the meal was OK, I opted not to. Also, this was not your typical ‘tower based shawarma’. It was basically small pieces of beef/chicken that appeared to have been stir fried. Not carved from a rotating tower as one would typically expect the word shawarma to denote. Other than my bad experience with the beef dish, I will also comment that the rest of the platter ingredients were lacking. Salad was a dry concoction of lettuce shreds, small pieces of tomato and cucumber, and no dressing or sauce of any type. The rice was a yellow rice, plain, and quite dry. No sauce at all served with the platter. Overall I was quite disappointed because I was really hoping to find yet another good location for Mediterranean food, but for now, I will have to assume that this is not the case. In the interest of reasonableness, and acknowledging the other reviews on this site for this restaurant, I will keep my eyes open for future reviews and consider giving these guys another try, but it will take some good future reviews from other Unilocalers to get me back here!

5 stars on food alone! Because the food was so good, the décor gets a pass. :) Fresh, homemade… I think the best Mediterranean I’ve had in the Raleigh area(and I’ve been to most in the raleigh/apex/cary area). Had the Fattoush Salad… the pita bread on top where little pieces of yum! Awesome chicken Shwarma. Also ordered something off the board, can’t remember name, it was like a chicken pot pie — but, nothing like the taste of a chicken pot pie — just really good in its own different way! Portions where quite large too. Oh, I hope this stays in business… as this location has been the demise of some other good little places. But, this one is the best one yet!

Stopped in to eat this time, and left quite impressed yet again. Before I ordered, I was asked if I wanted to join them for their Iftar, as they were preparing the feast to break their fast in observance of Ramadan. I had to run, but the spread looked AMAZING! I ordered the Chicken Shwarma salad and mixed kabobs. The salad portion was a HUGE plate of chopped lettuce, peppers, and vegetables topped with a good amount of chicken. Highly recommend. The mixed kabobs were great, the steak was the star of the show here. It had a small salad, hummus, and pita, with the three kabobs sitting on a large amount of rice. As I was talking to the proprietor I noticed they had one board behind the register. I have seen this in a few cities, but didn’t expect it in Apex. «feed it forward” — pay a little extra to feed someone in need. They keep a tally on the chalk board, which is pretty cool. They said that the 20 meals on the board had been there for a little while, so they were going to take some meals to a local church or organization that also helps those in need. This is a place we need to keep around Apex, great food and even better people.

This place used to be the Mesa Fresca Diner, and they had the greatest hamburgers in Apex. But, from what I’m told by the locals, this location doesn’t serve well, so Mesa Fresca went poof. In its place now is Fattoush Mediterranean Grill. Let’s hope they have a long and prosperous life because I’ve had two good experiences there. The first time was just out of curiosity. They were still pretty new and enjoying a soft open. I wasn’t in the mood for Mediterranean, but stayed anyway because they were persistent. The lady was cool, accommodating, and had a cute, deep voice. The gentleman was laid back and very kind. Because I was looking for breakfast items, they worked with me and prepared a meal off-menu. I had a pastrami and egg wrap and french fries. Both were pretty darn good. I want to especially mention the seasoning on the fries, making them worth the trip alone. I was offered hummus and pita just because. Nice combo, though I wasn’t in the mood for it. Still, who doesn’t like free stuff? On my return trip, I inquired to them about catering for a friend. The gentleman texted me their menu, which I didn’t get a very good look at(photo included), but seemed easy to work with. He even offered to cater off menu and promised a good price. If you know of this area, you’re aware that it’s connected to a general store with the gas station out front. I walked through to use the restroom and said hello to the guy behind the counter. He was wholly disinterested in me and seemed like he hated customers, barely spitting out a gutteral and laborious«hello.» Everything about my experience at this place was good except for him. Not sure how much I love the idea of a gas station restaurant. I didn’t mind it when it was just a diner, but I guess if the food stands out, you look passed the measely peccadilloes.

It is an honor to write the first review for this WONDERFUL new restaurant spot in Cary! DELICIOUS, AUTHENTIC, HOME-STYLE, Mediterranean food that will astound you! … Yes, it is new and yes this is the only review available for reference, BUT, as soon as you try their INCREDIBLE food, you too will be writing an awesome review! … As soon as we arrived to the restaurant, the most KIND and HAPPY gentleman welcomed us. Because it was our first time and we didn’t know what to order, he said, «don’t worry, I’ll make you some of our best dishes to try!» We sat down and in the kitchen we could see him working his magic. Within a few minutes out came the kebabs, rice, hummus with beef, and fattoush! Oh my goodness! It was as if we stepped into his home and he just fed us the most AMAZING home-made and authentic Mediterranean feast! … Stop in, give it a try, and you will NOT regret it! *^_^*
