I regularly shop Grand Asia in Cary but live in Apex, so when a friend said Grand India in Apex had similar produce and spices I was definitely intrigued. Lots of frozen breads and entrée items, spices, and dried beans. Reasonably priced. Not enough turnover in produce however, and not high quality. Woman who helped me find items and suggest other products was really nice and helpful! Thank you! Owner is a disinterested unpleasant man, who does speak perfect English. Went to check out and asked him for a recommendation on a dried bean he liked. Like it was an irritating question(although I was the only customer in the store, so he had the time), and he finally mumbled some answer. I asked again and he led me to Moong Bean, asked him why, and he couldn’t answer. Bought them just to try. Better off with the bigger fresher selection at Grand Asia AND the nicer help. Grand Asia has always answered my questions and even added products at my request. I love to shop at smaller, locally owned stores, but not those with attitude.

This place had tons of great spices for a reasonable price with a variety of brand choices. For being a small place, there is a ton of selection. The owner was nice enough too.

Love the small grocer shop feel of the place where you get to know the business owner. Unlike the Walmarty feel to another Indian grocer near by.

It’s always nice to have a store like this near by. My daughter has an International night every year at school and we shop for our ingredients here. I do not do a lot of Indian cooking but I do dabble in African so it’s great to have such selection. My main complaint is that the customer service is spotty depending on who is minding the store. I also do not like finding so many expired goods. If you are looking for more ASIAN items try S mart for Korean dishes and Grand Asia Market for Chinese.

Little Indian grocery with some essentials for making curry in a hurry, also has a decent Bollywood selection(some movies have English subtitles I’m told). Wound up getting some stuff to make battered chicken and a couple vegetarian curries and chatting with the shop keeper for a while.
