We had a great time coming here for my grandfathers birthday. They served us very quickly and the steaks started at only $ 12.99. The food was wonderful! We will definitely be back for another event.

No complaints but nothing stood out either. It was a salad, potato, steak meal. It was tasty but not«oh, my gawd» great. The server was friendly but not efficient. My rare steak arrived medium rare. … almost typical for a steakhouse. Why did I deduct 2 points for an adequate meal? Despite having bread, an appetizer with small plates, and salads before the entrée, the server nor food runner ever picked up a plate… they just kept being stacked in the middle of the table. With 4 people at a 4 person table… crowded is not an efficient word… smothered in tableware sounds about right. It was lazy and took what would have been a solid 4.5 stars and dropped it to 3. Pity.

This review is based off of the last three times we have frequented Longhorn. Every time we go the food is always delicious. The steaks are tender and cooked correctly to temperature. The mashed potatoes are a must! The drinks are good– the rock candy margarita is creative. We have always had excellent service.(A much better alternative to the outback!, it’s definitely worth a few extra dollars to have a better quality food with excellent service.) Just a tip though– if you plan on going at night especially a weekend night definitely call ahead. We had a 45 minute wait on Friday night. It was definitely worth it though!

3.5 stars. I don’t usually go for the BIG steakhouse chains like this, Outback, Lodestar, etc. The portions are usually too big for me and what they offer are things I normally do not eat. However, when your Dad says, hey I want a steak that’s where you go. We called at 4pm to do «call ahead seating» for 5 adults and 2 kids. We arrived at 6pm on time as we had said we would. The waiting area is PACKED and they tell us there will be a 30 minutes wait. Huh? I’m not sure how the call ahead saved us anytime. I sent the family back to their cars and sidled up to the bar to wait since there was not enough room for all of us to stand around. The bartender never acknowledged me. The bar was also being used for take away service which made the place even more packed. I wish they did curb side like Carrabbas and other places. I flagged down the overworked bartender for a martini. We were seated in 40 minutes. Again, I do not think the call ahead did anything for us as new people arriving were told 20 – 30 minutes. Several families of 6 – 7 had exited but they used their tables for families of 3 or 4. Not sure how their system works but now I know on Saturdays we don’t eat here. Once we were seated, the waitress was efficient and brought us our bread quickly. I did inform her my father was a diabetic and we could use the bread ASAP. We did not order appetizers since the wait was so long. They missed out on sales there. I asked for another drink and they said you could only get the drink specials at the BAR. What??? Then she said she’ll bring it anyway. So.. . whatever. That kind of logic never makes sense to me. I asked if I could have a lobster tail dinner. It was not on the menu. All the lobster was only available as surf and turf or as an «add on». But she said she could«make it happen». At the end we found out that it was not on the menu but they had a single lobster tail dinner and a double lobster tail. Again, the logic escapes me that it’s simply not on the menu but whatever. The bread was ordinary bread and butter but it was hot and soft so we devoured that. The entrees took awhile to come out but when they did most of the orders were correct. My husband ordered the ribeye with a mashed potato side dish with«all the fixings» and it came out plain. But everything else was right. All 3 steaks were cooked to order. They were nothing extraordinary — just average steaks. My dad really enjoyed the chicken fried steak. Kids meals were HUGE. The burger was really big but tasted good. The fruit was a tiny portion which seemed even smaller when you compare it to the amount of fries my other kid got. This is definitely not a place that focuses on health. If you want meat and potatoes this is where you come. My lobster tail was very good albeit too buttery. All the salads seem to be from bagged lettuce. My Caesar needed more dressing and the dressing that was on it was«ok» in flavor. I’ve had better. The garden salads had a lot of ranch on it. So overall it was not a bad place just not something I’d want to repeat more than once a year. It’s really the service that makes me not want to return. The waitress did the best she could. She was so busy with so many tables that I had to ask for a napkin for my kid 3 times. It took two requests to get ketchup. It took awhile to get drink refills. Still, for what was happening around us she did the best she could. I fault the management more than the wait staff. I feel they need better organization and should either take reservations or do away with the call ahead if it really does not help the patron get seated any quicker. Several families were tired of waiting. I would rather be told not to come between 6 – 7 if I don’t want to wait an hour. Then I can make other choices. So. Know what to expect when you come to this big steakhouse and you may really enjoy your meal.

Went after lunch time. Was seated quickly. Food was slow, even though it wasn’t busy and it was at least an hour after lunch. Food was good and hot. Server couldn’t keep up with drinks. Not sure if I would go back.

Truthfully I’ve never been crazy about Longhorns. Food is always just ok. Service is always just ok and this time everything was just ok. That’s it. When we arrived there was a 30 – 45 min wait but that was expected considering the time. After no being called I had to inquire only to find out we had already been called and apparently our buzzer was just outside range. We were in our car right in the first row parking as we weren’t going to stand in the waiting crowd with 2 kids and an infant. They were nice enough though to seat is right away. Upon entering the place is much smaller than it appears. Surprisingly crammed feeling. Place appeared clean. Our waitress was nice but not very attentive. Our food came at a reasonable time but no condiments were brought or offered and had to wait a while before she came back to ask for it. My food was again just ok. Peach tea was damn good I must say though I was not offered a refill. In summary It was ok. Not bad enough to never go back not but not wowed enough to talk about or recommend either.

Came here as a party of five. We had a great time and great tasteful service. The food tasted really good. The waiter was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Ryan was his name on April 19th. The appearance of the restaurant is great, very elegant and clean. Would definitely recommend and come again.

Really good food. The waitstaff was fast at getting us almost anything we needed. They were super busy but we still got a table pretty quick. The wait was mostly for tables over the size of five. Would give five stars except I would have liked my drink to have been refilled at least once.

Came here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Seated within 5 minutes on a Saturday night around 7 pm. Server was friendly and accommodating and let us know if something cost extra. The onion soup came out hot and the potato was prepared well. The strawberry salad was plentiful. Good sized rib eye and seasoned well. Restaurant was clean and we didn’t feel rushed. Convenient location with other stores nearby.

I went there with family as part of my birthday celebration and everyone had good food and the employees were very nice. They don’t have dinner rolls but I’ll take being treated with kindness and respect over rolls any day. We will definitely be back.

Consistently good service and good food. It’s a chain, and so, nothing extremely exciting. We always have a good experience.

Have been here many times. Will probably be a while before we return. Server started off well; crashed and burned HARD! How does a server forget(FORGET) an appetizer they wrote. down.?? She also had a difficult time remembering to return to check on us. I would have reminded her about the appetizer, except I had already received my meal!!! Yeah, don’t need my appetite stimulated at that point, thanks. Also… When medium rare is described as hot red center with pink throughout, I wasn’t expecting cool(almost raw) center in my steak. This is the first time I have had a steak this underdone.

Love this place! My boyfriend and I have been here multiple times, and can always enjoy a full meal– appetizer and desert for under $ 40.(Plus he likes to add shrimp to his steak, it’s a steal!) we’ve always had amazing service, the waitresses, and manager always go out of their way for us! The food is always great! This is our favorite«nice» restaurant in the area! Better experience than all the others!

Just okay. 2.5 stars, I just can’t give it 3. A lot of the food is bland. The bread tastes like a loaf from the super market just warmed up. My steak was way over cooked, medium shouldn’t be grey. It was edible due to being covered with cheese and bacon. The only thing I really liked was the onion petals(even though they were super basic and seemed like I could pick up a bag of them in the freezer section at Walmart) and the brussle sprout side dish. I expected this place to be kind of like a black angus based on the menu but it was a notch below.

Bait and switch deal: On Friday, May 17, 2013 my wife and I stopped for dinner at the Longhorn in Apex, NC. Over the years my wife has enjoyed Longhorn’s whenever we have travelled. On this particular evening she found a promotion they were running on . She found one for«5 Great Steaks for 1 Great Price of $ 11.99». The promotion ends on May 31, 2013. When we were seated at the restaurant we asked about any specials they may have running that night. The waitress told us there were none. As we reviewed the menu, my wife checked the website on her phone to confirm the special promotion she saw. Initially she did not find it and we placed our order from the menu. After we placed our order, she checked the website again and found the promotion. We showed this to the waitress who told us she was not aware of this promotion. She would check on it and let us know. After a few minutes the manager stopped by and without even asking us anything told us the promotion that was listed on the website was not available. We questioned this with her and offered to show her the website page. She was not interested and told us they had no $ 11.99 steaks available. At that point we told her were leaving. I told her I did not appreciate the bait and switch approach to doing business and we left. We won’t be back to this particular Longhorn. We are also questioning the overall Longhorn chain as the last one we stopped at was not up to what had been their historical standard as well. I realize the promotion is listed on and not the Longhorn website. However, has historically been reliable. Additionally, the manager could have taken the time to review the website promotion and, even if they were not accepting it, made some other kind of offer to replace it. FYI: here is the link to the promotion page: Won’t be back. Update: FYI: In addition to posting this review, I also sent an email to Longhorn customer service on their web page. I received an email back telling me that they did not post the special on another web site and therefor did not honor the deal. Two days after I received this email I also received a promotional email from them hyping the very special they said they would not honor. I am looking at an ad they also ran in our local newspaper hyping the promotion. What a deal huh?

ALWAYS call ahead. Seriously… no matter where you live, call ahead or call from the car on your way there. We have been there several times, and the one time that we didn’t call, we had a VERY long wait. We like LongHorn and always get the filet. I like the atmosphere and we’ve always had a pretty good dining experience. I like Outback better, but there isn’t one close, so we end up at LongHorn based more on convenience. Their dessert menu is wonderful… there’s a deep-fried cheesecake sundae with strawberries that’s to die for.

Came here on a team dinner when I was in NC for training. Props to our server who waited on a table of like 30 and flirted with my old manager which was hilarious! To bad he carded me and then relized he had to card the whole table if he carded me(I had just turned 21 the month before). I had the raspberry mochatini which was good. Like Starbucks with liquor! For dinner I had the steak and lobster. OMG it was soooooooo good. The lobster tail while little was amazing and almost devored it whole followed by shots of butter. To bad I was around co workers so I had to do the polite thing and cut and chew my food like a normal person. The steak was so tender and buttery I didn’t even need my knife. Just a poke from my fork and pieces would fall off and then melt in my mouth. I don’t remember the side dishes much except that the mashed potatos were awful. They had some sort of sweet thing in them like cinnamon or something. However the sweet potato with brown sugar and butter was like dessert and was so good my mom replicated it for me when I came home. Best part of the meal, I didn’t have to pay! It was weird however to see people smoking in the bar area, since we Californians can’t smoke pretty much anywhere.
