We went here for one of those investment dinner presentations. I have to say that I have had better food at Golden Corral !! My filet was one of those bacon wrapped ones that tasted like it had been previously frozen. It was not good at all. The garlic bread that they served us before the meal was good. The salad was also good. There is NOWAY I would EVERY pay for a meal here. I don’t know how this place stays in business because the menu is very pricey. With such a large group, this would be the time to shine and try to get everyone to come back again. Not gonna happen…

Based on my experience, I would avoid at all cost! My daughter & I flew to NC for my sister’s 50th. We took my sister & nephew for dinner here the night before her party. I will spare you all the details of a long story of a poor experience, but the service was painfully slow. 20 minutes for a glass of wine! The steak was actually flavorful, however not prepared at the correct temperature. Appetizers were sub par at best and served lukewarm. Crème brûlée tasted old(that is a really hard one to mess up, I am guessing it was not covered properly). After a series of mishaps, I called the restaurant(from my table) to speak to a manager. No manager on the premises! I was given the GM’s cell number & was told to call him. I called and he was apologetic and receptive, said he would call back the following morning. We left the restaurant and I received a call from the manager while in my car on my way to the hotel. By then, he was at the restaurant and now changed his tone, being quite combative with me. Admittedly, I sank to his level during the call, however by the end, we both calmed down and were reasonable. The next day, he offered to send a gift certificate for the inconveniences. Since I live out of state, I requested that he send to my sister who lives in town. He agreed, however never followed through. Not an issue, as I don’t think my sister would have used it anyway; it was really that bad.

Worst $ 100 bucks I ever spent on dinner. The waiter was clueless, the service slow, the food was cold, and my pork porterhouse was like shoe leather.

Outstanding food in all categories! Dave and Helen Purnell as well as staff make sure everything is to your liking each time you visit. Private events are great. I can’t say enough as to the high quality if food that is served. A favorite if mine.

Went here for my daughter’s birthday. We all ordered the prime rib that was disappointing. As my Father asked,(he is a trained chef) «What fancy restaurant serves prime rib on a cold plate?» Also, prime rib was medium and not medium rare. Sides were plainly steamed with sauce on side-really nothing special. We will never go back. Sadly, O’charleys prime rib was better at $ 13. Service and ambiance was great. People were very nice, but I can’t add more stars cuz of the food which was $ 35-$ 45 a plate-not including sides. Maybe it was an off night.

Impeccable service — had the local fried oysters with pepper seasonings — excellent veggies… I had the porterhouse steak — no disappointments

Where do I begin? It’s been some time since my last visit… and shame on me! I arrived for a solo dinner on a weeknight. I was greeted and chose to sit at the bar. Rachel! Where do I begin? Mixologist… server…PR Exec… a girl’s BFF. She’s a pure delight.(Countless thanks for the perfect dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives!) The food… Yay! I ordered my petite filet black and blue. Chef gets it! The side of sautéed spinach was so enjoyable. Let me say — while it’s been a while since I’ve been back, I’m self-shaming because I’m a prodigal daughter. But I am back. I am so satiated! And that’s a good thing …

Best Steak in the area!!! The board room is perfect for business meetings or any private event. The food is great and we have never had a bad meal at Jimmy V’s!

This was quite possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a steakhouse. If you’re looking for a good steak in the Triangle, avoid Jimmy V’s at all costs. There are at least 5 steakhouses that are far superior and whose management actually cares about the customer experience. My husband and I were looking to have a nice dinner and noticed that Jimmy V’s had reservations available on Open Table at 645 and 7pm(never a good sign). We headed to Cary for what we hoped to be a nice dinner. I’d just started on the Whole 30 program which is kinda restrictive(no dairy, vegetable oil or sugar) but hey, it’s a steakhouse, I can get a steak and veggies, perfect. I explained to the server that butter and sugar were both no go’s for me and when I asked if the brussel sprouts had oil or butter, she had no idea. I ordered those and a filet, Pittsburgh Rare and sent her on her way. My husband ordered a rare fillet and the cottage potatoes. She brought out the steaks and mine was horribly overcooked. Pittsburgh Rare, also known as black and blue, means there’s a char on top and in inside is cool and rare. Mine had about a half an inch of brown all around and the inside was red and warm. Then i tasted the brussel sprouts and they were overly sweet, there was definitely some sort of sugar cooked into the dish. My husband’s steak was cooked fine but the cottage fries were potato chips. Go ahead and Google cottage fries, I guarantee that not a single picture of chips shows up. He was expecting a thicker sliced potato, as would anyone whose ever eaten cottage potatoes. He sent them back and asked for a baked potato instead. We asked to speak to the manager, only to be told that he was too busy to come out. Really? OK, fine, send back my steak and the veggies. Here’s were it gets good. The manager comes out, with my steak in his hand and proceeds to ARGUE with me that it was indeed cooked properly. I explained that no, it was over cooked, to which he CONTINUED to argue with me. Really, buddy, I’m from Pittsburgh, used to work in the restaurant industry and have served and eaten literally hundreds of steaks that are Pittsburgh Rare. He told me that he’d been in the restaurant industry for over 27 years and this is how a Pittsburgh’d steak should look. I told him I wasn’t interested in arguing with him and just to make me a rare steak. Any idea how long it takes to cook a rare, 6oz steak? I do, it’s about 4 – 6 minutes. Mine took 20. The manager never came back and we had to ask the server where my steak was. By then the broccoli that the server had brought in place of the sprouts was ice cold and my husband had been done with his dinner for a good 10 minutes. All in all, a miserable experience, for a meal that’s $ 100 for two people, I expect better. Also, I was looking at Jimmy V’s «Boardroom» for an upcoming conference for my company. Yea, not a chance. Not only did they lose my husband and I as a customer but potential corporate revenue as well. Don’t waste your money, Sullivans, Angus Barn and Vinnie’s are all far superior and provide an amazing customer experience.

The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, the brick archways lend a spacious air. Make sure to get a drink at the bar and have a word with Victor, he’s not only the best drink mixer(literally, he won the best-on-Glenwood bartender contest with his Rosewater specialty), he’s also always good for a great conversation. This is one of our favorite places in Raleigh.

We went for a small dinner with nice wine on a random evening and we were thrilled with our experience. The service was impeccable. Our waters and wines never got low and our waitress knew the menu very well. She could give us great recommendations and knew the answer to every question we had. The food was super– the filet was cooked just right and the salad was amazing. The atmosphere allows for a nice environment where you still have some privacy. The outdoor seating was closed for a private party this evening, but the view would have been spectacular– nice and quiet, right in here in Cary. I can’t wait to go back.

Maybe it was bad timing but had a really bad experience the other night here. Waitress was eh, the exhaust fan was out so the room slowly filled with smoke until they had to open the doors, the main course took 45 minutes to come out after the apps and salads, and to top it all off the ribeye was really poor quality and was tough and chewy. Will never go back. I’ll stick with Ruth Chris when I want a $ 40 steak.

I’ve given this place three tries in the past six months and there won’t be a fourth. Food is all over the board, service is inconsistent, and I’m telling you now: you’re going to have to send your steak back unless you like rare or medium rare. Sent the horrible crab cakes back tonight and no manager ever visited. Steak frites was drowned in sauce. They were not at all busy on a Saturday night and that should have been a huge red flag. Tonight’s strike three was a waitress with attitude. When I am out with business clients, I don’t need these hassles.

Great steakhouse in Cary! Dim lighting, warm feeling. The staff is always friendly and professional with great recommendations. My husband and I have been quite a few times and I’m never disappointed with the food or service. My fav app is the seafood platter where you pay per piece. I like a combo of crabmeat and scallops! For dinner I usually stick with the filet oscar style, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I’m always too full for desert but the menu looks amazing! Maybe next time.

I was in Raleigh last month had dinner here on the recommendation of a friend. The Carpaccio appetizer was a great start. Thin, beautiful slices of beef, with balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and thin sliced red onion. For the main course, I had the 9oz Filet Mignon, medium-rare with Maytag Bleu crumble. I am salivating now just thinking of each bite. The wait staff was friendly and attentive(but did not ‘hover’). If you turned up the house lights 30%, I would give a 5th star. The low light(to me) lent the dining room kind of a Vampire-club mood. Trying to serve up old-world ambiance in a strip mall feels a little forced.

Enjoyed a family meal here at Jimmy V’s. I had a 6 oz filet mignon, cooked perfectly and very tasty — but I would forgo the greasy bacon that the filet was wrapped in. Really enjoyed the garlic fries — what an indulgence! Side of mac n cheese and broccoli topped off the meal. Wine list was well stocked and reasonably priced. Disappointed in our service, our waiter did not follow up on any of our special requests. Also found the desserts to be overdone — too big and too sweet — vs. a nice finish to the meal.

A nice tucked away spot to grab a cocktail after work. Service seems to be above average. I have not had the food, just drinks. I would review this place again after eating here. I have several friends that love this place.

My husband and I went here and the steak was delicious. The baked potatoes were HUGE and well cooked and were also delicious. It took a little while between courses but wasn’t too bad. I felt like I got wait I paid for and didnt leave disappointed. Although I do think I’ll try Rey’s first before returning
