So you’re in the mood for Mexican food but you want something slightly more classy than Taco Bell. One of the options on the tier above Taco Bell is Moe’s Southwest Grill. Find most of your [gringo] Mexican favorites for around $ 10 at Moe’s. I tried a steak bowl with all of the fixings that I typically like. Moe’s has quite a few things going for it — sriracha, a salsa bar, unlimited chips with every meal, and queso. I’ve tasted better mango habanero salsa, but I’m still thrilled by the fact that they offer it on their salsa bar. Upgrade to a combo, and enjoy a small side of queso and a drink with your entrée. It’s impossible to write about Moe’s without mentioning Chipotle. As far as I’m concerned, Chipotle is the benchmark for all lower-priced [gringo] Mexican restaurants. Chipotle does not offer all of those many things that Moe’s has going for it. If the extras were the most important part of the meal, then Moe’s wins easily. Sadly, extras are exactly that, extras. The steak bowl doesn’t taste as good at Moe’s as it does at Chipotle. While both restaurants share similar ingredients, the quality of these ingredients is pretty far apart. The meat at Moe’s may not be that bad, but it’s definitely bland compared to Chipotle. Moe’s is not a bad restaurant, and this location has friendly staff. When eating with a large group of friend’s, I’d probably pick Moe’s. The unlimited chips and salsa is a winner when you’re likely going to hang out for a while. Otherwise, I’d go with Chipotle every time.

Very bland! Kind of pricey for what you get and the quality isn’t that great. Go to the Qdoba 3 minutes down the street.

I’m not sure who owns this particular store but I drove to this location because it’s very close to were I live. Just last night, Thursday, Mar 26 at 9:30 pm and they were CLOSED. The closing time on Thursdays is supposed to be 10:00pm. Not sure if the owner knows this but his staff is closing this location early. I looked inside and there were a few teenage staff members on their phones, no doubt checking their timelines. So to the owner, I say, Do you want to be in business or not? If your answer is yes then I suggest you hire trustworthy staff who don’t shut you down early when you have paying customers coming.

This Moe’s isn’t up to the standards of other Moe’s locations. The lettuce was old, the tofu not fresh, the salsa didn’t taste right, and the eating area was messy. There were only 2 workers who seemed overwhelmed. It’s a great location so hopefully the management can turn this place around. Go to another Moes, or try Chipotle in the meantime.

To walk in and hear«welcome to moes!» is so exciting. Go to order your food and pay and it’s a totally different experience :(the people working behind the counter seem very disinterested in being there. I like the options and that they make it in front of you. I love the chips and especially the salsa bar! I presented a coupon and she looked at me like why are you giving me this? I had to ask for my drink cups bc cashier forgot and walked off. Not so good customer service

Have to say, normally we have a good experience here at Moe’s; tonight’s meal not so much! The rice was not cooked all the way, we are talking hard and crunchy type of not cooked all the way. I told the girls at the front and they called over another girl who I will guess was filling in as a shift manager. She asked me what it was, I told her about the rice. She didn’t even offer to fix our orders. I then figured, well it looks like chips for dinner! Only for someone who doesn’t use a lot of salt, it tastes like someone dumped a gallon of salt on them! So, we spent $ 20 for soda! Not a happy experience tonight!

Don’t understand the poor reviews. The customer service and food were top notch. It’s my new favorite place in North Raleigh for lunch. I love the fact that all the ingrediants are fresh and made daily.

If I could give less than one star I would, this entire visit was a disaster. It started with a simple order for two bowls, one Chicken and one Steak. When we got to the counter, they were out of just about everything. They had no chicken, no queso and no Pico. I had ordered extra chicken and they gave me the dredges of the bowl and didn’t really get a normal order. While we waited for more supplies, they came and changed out the queso. When they picked up the bowl to fill it, it dripped water all over both bowls. Mostly they filled the steak bowl with a ton of nasty heating water used to keep everything warm. Once the supplies finally arrived, the girl didn’t even ask us what we wanted to add to the bowls, she just slid them over to the register with nothing more than the chicken. We had ordered the meals and when we got our order, we had no queso and had to keep asking. We also got a bowl of busted up chips and the salsa was empty. The coke machine only had a few selections and was mostly empty. Once we finally got to our table, I noticed that I was charged for the extra chicken that I never received. It was extremely painful trying to get a refund for the chicken. Also we only received the smaller of the queso and never did get the bowls we paid for. The place had nothing in stock for a lunch time order, the staff had no clue how to process an order and no idea how to handle customers. This place needs to start over and have some basic training for everyone.

My review is more about this location than it is as Moe’s Restaurant. I’ve been to quite a few Moe’s across NC and this one is very nice! Clean place, great location(has outdoor area with water fountain), and very friendly staff who went the extra mile serving me. It was not very crowded so that may be why but I was very happy with the service. Read other reviews about food, all Moe’s taste the same IMO :)

Recently moved to Apex from SW Durham, and I’m generally disappointed with the food in the area. With that said, I was thoroughly happy to find that there is a Moe’s since we used to frequent the one on Fayetteville Rd. Let me tell you, this location could learn a thing or two from the one at Southpoint! Although, I have had ONE good experience here during the day on a weekend, generally during prime time, even Friday and Saturday nights, it’s sub-par. For instance, portioning is ridiculous as stated in another post. My Joey, and my wife’s Joey Jr. should NOT be the same size! Come on, man! Additionally, the pulled pork looks more like pork soup. How does that even happen?! Generally the food prep area and salsa bar seem messy and in disarray(I’ve seen salsa labeled incorrectly). How two chain restaurants, less than 20 minutes apart, can be so drastically different is beyond me. Then again, I’m not sure that I’ve ever seen a manager at this location, and the employees look like local teenagers that seem very disinterested in being there. The other reviews to-date are very generous. Please go eat at the Moe’s on Fayetteville Rd, and then reconsider your rating. Apologies to the couple of employees there that are doing a great job. I would encourage anyone who works there to talk to the manager about ways to improve… that is assuming there IS a manager…

I used to wonder what all the fuss was about when people talked about moe’s coming to apex but once I had the Nacho’s with my son I understood. I had eaten at Qdoba and always enjoyed the Nacho’s but Moe’s was not afraid to load it up. Their Queso is out of this world and clearly fresh chips and other ingredients were great.

Opening the door to a chorus of «Welcome to Moes!» is always fun, but when the follow-up is less than spectacular food, you begin to wonder just how welcome you truly are… Ok, that was mean. It’s not that bad. In fact, it beats the sneakers off the nearby Qdoba. But it’s a new store, and like any new restaurant, there are kinks to work out. The staff was relatively uninformed during my few visits. We asked for a John Coctostan and a Billy Barou, only to get a blank stare. Ok, Moe, I played your game with the silly names, I expect the same in return. But I gathered myself and specified a quesadilla and the nachos. It was a little weird to see the employee scoop out some chicken, take some off the top, then put it on your food. I realize that serving size keeps costs down, but if I’m paying 8 bucks for a burrito, don’t rob me of chicken. Hook it up, Moe. Also — there was a sign that said«Bring in your Iron Man 3 ticket stub and get a discount» sign on the door. I handed over my ticket stub, which was met with an «mmmk sir, what am I supposed to do with this?» That said, after I pointed it out, everything went through no problem. Sure, they made mistakes, but the staff is nice, helpful, and hardworking — so I’m sure they’ll work it out. The restaurant was clean and the food was passable. Below average for the area Moes(Fuquay and Brier Creek are both outstanding), but I’m sure as the employees get better, the food will too. In the end, I’m willing to give it a few more chances. Three stars.
