Caribou Coffee

I actually stopped coming here until only recently as my travels have returned me back to this location; it’s not one of the better caribou locations out there. The customer service always seems to be a little bit off. This time around the cashier made me feel like I had cone to a party and I want invited.
The Americano’s, when taking into consideration chain and coffee as a commodity aspects, are a little deadpan in taste. I can hardly blame the business though –it’s no Peace Coffee!
But…
They have free WiFi
They do serve coffee
They have chairs
Its does the trick in a pinch especially since Peace Coffee is 30 – 45 minutes north of here…
…if you’re interested, Peace Coffee (Longfellow) makes the BEST Americano’s in the Mpls area.

I thought I would give a shout out to my favorite Coffee place, and favorite location: Caribou Coffee in Apple Valley, MN. You have NO idea how many hours of my life I’ve spent at this location. I started frequenting this location in 2006 when I was a student at the University of Minnesota. I worked on many hours of homework in there, drinking their delicious white mochas, and I even wrote the majority of my honors thesis in this building.
What makes this location so awesome? Well, let me tell you! The layout is great. Some coffee shops I’ve been to have displays in awkward places or not enough room for a line to form near the ordering area, etc. This one had a lot of waiting room and their displays were strategically placed so you can see all the product and have access to it, but also have room to move around. Not only that, but there is plenty of places to sit down and relax, as well as a variety of different types of sitting situations. There are couches, plush chairs, wooden chairs and tables that sit 2 or 4 or even 6 people, and a row of bar stools near the western window at a counter. This bar stool area is great, as it can accommodate many folks and each one is able to plug in their laptop computer.
This location’s restrooms are always clean and their staff is always friendly. For awhile there I went to this location everyday before work or before school; it was one thing I looked forward to every single day.
Rest assured, when I come for a visit to MN again, this will be one business I will go out of my way to visit.

I like that it opens the latest of all the coffee shops in the area, but it could stand to have friendlier staff. One or two of them are really awesome baristas but most of them are not too happy to be there. It’s a Caribou, a chain so the coffee is the same at every other Caribou

Why oh why do coffee shops have to blast cold air on their customers? I get it that a chilly temp encourages one to buy a big delicious Caribou turtle mocha, but seriously, I am getting frozen out of this location! Love the 7-​grain oatmeal, Northern Lite Lattes, and Caramel Coolers, but these days I am spending my moola in warmer environments.
