Aptos Roasters is consistent and delicious! I prefer a stronger cup of coffee without the bitterness that I find with most coffee chains. I love their beans so much, I now travel with a bag. I’ve stopped in throughout all times of the day, and their staff is always quick to serve. I hear they have great food options, but I have only tried their bagels and love the jalapeño flavor!

Still my fav café. Great coffee, bagels and staff is usually efficient, friendly. A few gripes: Lighting Recently someone decided to turn on an incredible amount of lights. I realize there’s artwork to show but this is way overkill. Theres big windows in front that allow lots of natural light to flow in. Music This is an issue i experience at many cafes. The staff is young and play hard rock sometimes LOUD. Most customers here, they’re reading, working on there laptop or chatting with friends. Final gripe is crumbs in window sills, floor and dirty tables.

The amount of drip coffee options to choose from is amazing and they are willing to talk about each one. Very friendly staff and a nice working environment! Bathroom is clean too, the key is attached to a red plastic pour over thing on the bar. Another thing I appreciate is that they have almond milk and fill your cup all the way to the top!

Strong locally roasted coffee, like it:) Hit or miss on when it’s busy, sometimes tables free, others a line.

The coffee itself was excellent. However, The cups were filled to the very very top where it was impossible to move without spilling all over which it did. We were then provided different cups that we needed to pour into. Wow.

I must add that in five years of attending this coffee shop nearly every Sunday, there has never failed to be a friendly, smiling face taking my order and making my coffee and treats. I’m mightily impressed at the hiring standard for baristas. Talking to other patrons, they also mention being disappointed that they don’t know which Sundays there will be music. We were SPOILED, weren’t we? Sigh.

Great place to get some work done. It has a great community vibe and the atmosphere is always bright and inviting. The staff is wonderful and the drinks and food are delicious. They have a great happy hour from 1 – 4 on the weekdays where they feature a drink and offer it for only $ 1. I love to support this local place.

Coffee is good. Be prepared for loud, annoying music. Want to do some homework, chat, and enjoy a good cup? Go somewhere else.

They made me an excellent cup of coffee. Better than Starbucks and equal to Peet’s. The drip-to-order is the way to go. I visited with several other folks and all of our drinks were great.

Great spot! I’ve been coming here to study since moving to the area, and it’s a pretty great spot to do so. Seating is only around the perimeter of the room, so if you’re in need of a laptop charger, you may have to wait your turn until someone vacates a table near one. The patrons are usually really friendly and will share the larger tables near power outlets, though. The coffee is really good — I got my first mocha in years yesterday and it was amazing. Their fresh brew is also great, and they have a nice selection of baked goods — I’ve gotten their quiche a couple of times. The staff are almost always very pleasant, and the service is great. Free WiFi, too!

Best Coffee in Aptos! The Barista’s are wonderful and know how to make a delicious espresso drink. They have a variety to chose from. The roasted Coffee is always fresh and smells delicious as you walk through the door. They also have smoothies, pastries, and some light snacks/breakfast/lunch items. If anyone is in the mood for a RASPBERRYSMOOTHIE — I recommend trying one of theirs ;) Thank you Aptos Coffee Roasting Company!

BETTERTHANSTARBUCKS, & no GMO’s! I am visiting a friend in Aptos who offered to buy me a Starbucks latte, knowing how much I love them. However, I just discovered that Starbucks has teamed up with Monsanto to sue the state of Vermont to block a landmark law that requires genetically-modified ingredients be labeled. Though it pained me to decline Starbucks, I looked online & found the Aptos Coffee Roasters right around the corner & was thrilled to read, «We believe in establishing strong and lasting relationships with the growers worldwide who provide our coffee, with a firm emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility. Our motto is „quality coffee for quality life“ — for coffee lovers as well as our farming partners.» I ordered a large white chocolate mocha & it was probably the best I’ve ever had, MUCHBETTERTHANSTARBUCKS! Those who know me know that this is the last thing they would ever expect to hear coming out of my mouth, but it is true. I wanted to bring home some flavored coffee beans, but couldn’t decide between 2 flavors, so they gave me ½ # of each for no extra charge than if I had gotten 1 # of one. Usually it is much more expensive to buy 2 half pounds vs. 1 pound, but not here. I paid $ 12.25 for 2 half-pounds of coffee here, and Plumes in Monterey has charged me $ 18 a pound for a similar flavor. I can’t wait to go home & try them! Bottom line: delicious coffee, excellent customer service, & their efforts are for sustainability & fair trade, vs. GMO’s & suing a state to void the new labeling laws. By the way, this is not a law to ban GMO’s, like many countries have done, but only to label food to accurately reflect what is in it – then we decide if we want to consume it or not. Thank you Aptos Coffee Roasting Co, part of Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting Co. You will be seeing a lot more of me!

They made my drink first with regular milk when I specifically asked for soy milk. Then I got another cold drink for after and they made it hot… It’s 70 degrees out. Also they were discussing films and other bullshit while making drinks and there’s multiple people waiting. Clearly that’s why they messed up on my drink. Super unprofessional and they seemed frazzled and Uneducated.

I’ve tried to support this place for years but every time i go back i remember why i can’t stand them. The staff is rude and too stoned to ever get my order correct. The coffee often tastes burnt and when i complain they make excuses trying to say that’s the flavor of the particular bean. They take absolutely forever to make any drinks! And often forget my bagel or other food completely! Sadly I will not be coming back to this local business. Just because you are local doesn’t mean you can slack!

Horrible experience. The coconut apricot cake is overpriced and dry-be prepared to choke. Also staff is clearly on another planet. I ordered an iced mocha with 2% milk. Clearly the guy taking to order heard me say that because he commented that I couldn’t get a 16oz iced, it only came in a 20oz. What did I get… a hot mocha, not cold, and non-fat milk, not 2%.

I was in the Aptos area and feeling the three pm slump so I went to Unilocal and found this great coffee shop! When I walked in the aroma of fresh brewed Java filled the air and as I looked around I noticed people were sitting back and enjoying conversations with friends or just relaxing. Aptos Coffee Roasting Company not only provides an excellent cup of fresh brewed coffee, but they also sell shirts, coffee mugs, pastries, and coffee beans. The service is stellar! The shop is always clean, decorated according to the season, and the music playing is pleasant. the price for a cup of coffee is reasonable for the Aptos area. If you need a place to have a business meeting, spend time with friends, work on your computer or just hang out and relax, this is the place to go! I keep going back for more because the place is just that appealing! Say hello to the baristas from me… tell them you read this review on Unilocal… and that Karen suggested you go there! Enjoy!

I came here with my boyfriend because of wifi and I was definitely impressed with what I saw here. It looks very modern with many paintings on the wall. It’s pretty bright in here too. They play some calm music in the background so it was great to do homework here. I had a toasted bagel here. They give you the spread on the side. My boyfriend had an iced coffee and he really liked it! If you’re looking for a quiet place to get some work done, this is the place!
