I’m not a huge fan of jewelry, but when I came across Himani’s intricate, unique handcrafted creations at a local art show– I couldn’t resist picking up a bracelet. She works with PMC silver/​fine silver clay as well as sterling silver to craft her whimsical, one of a kind pieces, which are inspired by Indian art. Every time I wear my bracelet, I get compliments– and I’ve commissioned Himani to make a couple extra special gifts for friends.
She doesn’t do public shows often– but I believe her jewelry is available at European jewelers in Cannery Row, or Garrett’s jewelers in Aptos. Additionally, she sells from her home in Aptos and is more than happy to do a private consultation if you want a piece designed and uniquely customized. A friend of mine recently had a beautiful necklace crafted for me by Himani. I love how the necklace exudes elegance with an edge.
It also solved a dilemma I was having. You see, I love jewelry, and I love birds, but I was having a hard time finding a combination of the two that worked for me. I felt like such jewelry was only made for teenagers or hippies. The necklace Himani made incorporates an owl, but it is done with taste and style.
I highly recommend Himani’s work for anyone looking for a unique piece of quality jewelry. A custom made piece of jewelry would make the perfect gift for yourself or someone special.
