We came here after eating at the ramen shop next door. The woman working was very nice and when we ordered a shaved ice, she showed us the menu and the toppings. If we didn’t know the topping, she took out the container and showed us. The shave ice had condensed milk and a pink syrup called cocopandan. This was different from Hawaiian shaved ice or shaved snow but it was a different taste. Not as sweet, which I enioyed. It came with three toppings which was not a bad deal. My only complaint is that the ice was not crushed well on the top. There were a few big pieces of ice. Overall, not a bad option for the shopping center it’s in.

99 cent drinks! The taste is a little homemade which can be both a good or bad thing. A little on the sweet side though. I found myself frequenting this place whenever I make a CVS run or eat somewhere within the plaza. They have a bad tendency to run out of drinks.

*Note. When a new place opens, I would give it a grace period or second chance before giving in to your entitled millennial urges and slamming it for tiny bratty reasons. Maybe I just have a soft spot for family owned places because my parents had a little divey Chinese restaurant back in the day. First time here after grabbing some pot pies from Moffetts. Just stopped in to get a grass jelly drink. The lady here was super nice and my grass jelly drink was good. A little on the sweet side because I usually get things half sweet so next time i’ll ask them to make it less sweet.

This family owned business opened recently! Its American /taiwanese/Indonesian. They have there special 99¢ deal on milk tea, lemon ice tea, lemonade hot tea, and slush(I don’t know what flavor). I got the milk tea which was surprisingly good. The flavor was rich. The only down side was the amount of ice. I will definitely come back to try more drinks. Everything here seems decently priced. flavored teas and milk tea ~2−3 fruit juices ~4 slushes ~3−4 shaved ice ~5

We were eating at the ramen place next door and decided to drop by Majesty Drinks for dessert. The space is very clean and small(about five tables that can seat a party of two). I didn’t like how they weren’t willing to make another batch of tea for their flavored tea. And I found it ironic how they«ran out» of a lot of items: tea, shaved coconut, and egg pudding. The boyfriend ordered shaved ice with fresh strawberries, almond pudding(actually almond jelly), and green bean. I’m not sure if it’s a cultural thing, but there was this pink/red syrup that coated the ice and toppings. Let’s just the syrup tasted like cough syrup and that’s not what I look for in a dessert. I ended up ordering an iced lemon tea after reading Felix L.‘s review that it wasn’t too sweet like normal HK cafes. I got the complete opposite; it was TOOSWEET. The best way that I could describe the drink would be if you added four times the amount of powder mix for iced tea, squeeze some lemon juice it in, and add a boat load of sugar. The bottom of my clear cup still had sugar that didn’t even dissolve. Unilocal 100 Challenge 2014 — 3 of 100

Majesty Drinks is a family-owned business that just opened 10 days ago in Arcadia. It replaced Global Express, the hole-in-the-wall Shanghainese eatery famous for using paper plates and cups despite being a full-service restaurant. Majesty’s menu might be overlooked as just a collection ordinary smoothies, fresh juices, and coffee, but after further examination, you can see that they have snow ice, Indonesian drinks, and even Indo toasty snacks(my first time hearing this type of food). Arcadia is currently dominated by Chinese and Chinese-American shops, so the introduction of Indonesian snacks is positive towards the city’s diversity. Majesty’s snow ice and shaved ice come in four flavors: green tea, mango, milk, or taro. For $ 3.95, you can choose up to 3 toppings. It sounds like Salju could have a new competitor for Indonesian snow in the 626. Majesty also serves salads and sandwiches, and houses a brand new Rosito Bisani espresso machine. This machine is pretty respectable but charging $ 2.75 for a single espresso is a bit on the high end. The banner waving outside the shop indicated $ 0.99 for a milk tea, slushes, lemonade, lemon iced tea, hot tea, or coffee. I had the cold lemon iced tea today and it was refreshing. Unlike the HK-style lemon teas served in Hong Kong diners which are often extremely sweet, Majesty’s tea is closer to the Indo-version: less sweet from syrup, more citrus flavor, tastes just like the ones in Teh Botol juice packets. Other promotions include«buy 1 get 1 free sweet lemon lime fresh fruit juice», «25% off fresh fruit juices», and«10% off smoothies, slushes, flavored tea, bubble iced milk». If you don’t mind the old school environment with older owners(a grandma was making my drink), then this family owned business may be worth supporting. There are a handful of teahouses located within 1 mile of Majesty(Ray Ray Express, Au79, TenRen, Coco, Why Thirsty, Tea Bar Starry), so this shop faces stiff competition in the tea and smoothies area. I hope that Majesty’s snow ice turns out to be exceptional because it will be their make-or-break item.
