Good comfort food. Tried the laksa which was delicious. I’ve never had anything like this before, and the flavors were very original and distinct. The dish had unique spices with a hint of a a coconut milk aftertaste. Very good on cold cloudy days, I can see myself picking up some more orders this fall.

Got the laksa to go. Put in the order 40 min prior to pick up and picked it up 10 min before QQ closed. The broth is delicious and it was still delicious when it was luke warm by the time I ate it at home. A gem!

Laksa is perfect on a rainy day. They give you half thin noodles and half thick noodles with shrimps, pork pieces, and some other veggies. It reminds me of Cambodian or Vietnamese curry. The thick flavor does get overpowering after halfway through but I still very much enjoy it. I would pour the hot sauce all over it too — so good! I suggest only putting in half of the noodles just in case you can’t finish it. You can save the rest of the noodles and soup for a second meal :) Service is also great. One time we forgot one of our dishes and they ran after us. Definitely love supporting small local businesses.

It was alright, wasnt too amazing. But i guess i wasnt expecting much greatness. The Indonesian fried rice was pretty good and it had a decent amount of flavor packed into it. And the green tea was just meh… It looks a bit run down but the service was really good. Might go back in the future.

The reason why I give five stars is because the food is very clean. Even though I did not order food here. When I saw they use something like tweezers to hold the meat and cut it separate instead of using hands. This makes me feel so good. Hands are also dirty, the way they treat customers is awesome! Always smiles! It is not a big restaurant but still good. Like it, like people most.

I know for students near PCC time is money and study so Food Time: 5 – 7 minutes for Laksa. Decent. This was a 12:00 pm order. Drink Time: 2 – 3.5 minutes Ice Cendol Busy: Not busy at all. ½ full and people sort of lounge about. Noise: Music played at a medium level with radio rock songs in the background. It’s in English. Some people talking and noises of drink and frying in the back. I think you can study here briefly during none peak hours. 12:00, don’t bother. Try a café. Location: Nice you can people watch at the windows at the side walk. Customer Service: Reasonably nice, very helpful and pretty friendly. They bring you your food. Unfortunately, no one seems to tip and you cannot tip with your credit card.

This place serves home-cooked food at a cheap price. Each dish is under $ 10. It’s no frills. Order your food at the register and they bring the food out to you. The first time I went, I had the laksa. Based on the other rave reviews, I was a bit disappointed as it lacked flavor. It was good but not good. The second time I went with a group and got to try more dishes. I will be back for the fried noodles and stir-fried thick noodle dishes. I was surprised how similar some of the dishes are(almost identical). I’m not sure I would have noticed that had I not gone with a group and ordered a bunch of different dishes. Nevertheless, I will be back when I want some home cooked no frills fried noodles. I also want to try the pork and fried egg with rice. I tried the mango madness drink. It tasted artificial to me so I didn’t really like it and I won’t order any other drinks. There’s plenty of street parking but easy to miss this restaurant is located because the sign is not prominent. They take credit card but you have to spend a certain amount so it’s better to pay cash. Go with low expectations and you’ll be a happy camper:)

Owned by a Singaporean family, they truly make the most authentic laksa I’ve had in the LA/OC area, and it’s very good. Also delicious is their Char Kway Teow, which has a nice little kick of heat. Take note that their Mui Fun and Combination Char Hor Fun are the same gravied dish. Char Hor Fun is made wok fried with rice noodles with the gravy, shrimp, chicken, fish cake and baby bok choy tossed. Mui Fun is served with white rice, but separated from the gravy. Mee Goreng seemed to be the weakest dish for me since the thick egg noodles didn’t get that nice«wok heh»(wok fried flavor). Service is nice. Street Parking only. Dining area has bar seating and only four tables for 2. I’d love to come back more often than I do, but they’re closed on weekends and close for the night at 7pm, which makes it a bit challenging for those of us who work quite a distance from them.

I’ve been hear a few times since it right across from pcc and I’ve yet to have a bad experience. The food and drinks are all prepared as you order and the boba is fantastic. I definitely feel they don’t get as much business as they deserve and would recommend this place to anyone.

This place is very simple layout fast food café style. Walk up, order from the menu on the wall, pay up and sit yourself. We ordered char kway teow, laksa and a fried rice. $ 25 bucks. It takes longer than I anticipated for the food to be served but it’s taste good. Portion is small for the price $ 7.95 each. Overall decent food and easy.

This is my go-to restaurant when I want good food that is nearby college. The food is flavorful and I can tell they put a lot of effort into just one dish. One of the first dishes I tried was their Singapore Laksa and it got me hooked to their food. It had chicken, fish cake slices, tofu, half of a boiled egg, shrimp, some egg noodles, some thin rice noodles, and soup base that tastes like creamy coconut curry. Their combination Char Hor Fun consists of flat rice noodles, bok choy, fish cake slices, shrimp, imitation crab, and this kind of egg drop gravy that is just so delicious together. Their drinks are made right in front you at the front counter. I really appreciate that they use FRESH and REAL fruits for their smoothies! Their avocado smoothie with chocolate syrup has got to be my favorite because I don’t really see chocolate and avocado served in many places, but it definitely works. Not only are their food and drinks well prepared, they really have one the of friendliest bunch of employees I’ve ever met. The service is quick and the food comes out in a reasonable time.

I occasionally grab lunch here and it’s either a hit or miss. Seems like they run out of food sometimes, so the portions MIGHT be really Dont get the Hainam chicken I would like to return if the food gets better! The employees here seem very genuine and sincere.

The food isn’t bad. The service was good, but it’s definitely not authentic Singaporean food. I ordered the Char kway teow, Iced Milo Chocolate, and the laksa. Parking is terrible especially since it’s across the street from Pasadena City College. Prices are also very high for what it is. If you just want decent Asian food in the vicinity this isn’t bad, but if you are looking for Singaporean cuisine – this isn’t it.

My wife is Singaporean, so we were super excited when a Singaporean restaurant opened up in Pasadena. QQ offers many authentic Singaporean dishes that are hard to find even in the SGV I had the Char kway teow, which I thought was pretty good. The food came out really quick and smelled delicious. The interior décor was so-so, but hey — we went for the food and it’s not so bad if you just think of it as an upgraded hawker experience :) The only thing I really didn’t like was the lack of a parking lot. There’s lots of street side parking nearby, but it can get hard to find one during PCC hours.

Happy time. I’ve been here to grab lunch a few times before, I just never left a review because I was focused on my grub. Located right across the street from Pasadena City College, this place is a small jewel where you can grab a snack, meal, or drink and not feel bad about the calories without giving up on some good flavor. Yesterday, I went with the wonton soup, which had a Singaporean twist on it. The serving size was perfect, with enough noodles, wonton, and flavor to last me until my class was over, which says a lot given I hadn’t even eaten that day. I also had a Thai tea with rainbow jelly because they were out of boba but the rainbow jelly was fun =] The owners are cool and the staff is so friendly I have never had a problem at all. Super extra points because the bathroom is always spotless. $ 5.00 minimum on credit card purchases. There isn’t any seating outside but there are tables and a high counter inside and great lighting! Will be back, likely weekly.

Being in America for years, I miss home so I looked for a place with Singaporean food and stumbled upon this restaurant. I had high hopes for this place and was utterly disappointed. I ordered Laska and Char Kway Teow, in hopes of it being authentic, since it was owned and operated by Singaporeans. Char Kway Teow: Not authentic at all. I can taste their attempt with the wok hei(wok smell) but hello? WHEREAREMYCOCKLES? and WHYISTHEREBEEF in my Char Kway Teow. It’s not going to taste authentic if you do not have cockles in the dish. Also, it need more black sauce. Laksa: WRONGNOODLES. Why are you using yellow noodles instead of the authentic white noodles? The yellow noodles tastes like chinese factory noodles which were too hard. WRONG. WRONGWRONG. The gravy is super thick and doesn’t taste like my Katong Laksa. I think my Prima Taste ready to cook laksa tastes better than this. I had 3 mouths of it and threw it away. Their Char Kway Teow is not authentic ATALL, but it still tastes better than the Malaysian franchise, Pappa Rich, located in koreatown, LA. Will I come here again? No. I’m a Singaporean so I live for food. If you’re not going to make food to my standards then sorry I’m not going to.

I hope to upgrade this review to four stars eventually. The service is too flawed to ignore but the owner is incredibly sincere and sweet and, God bless her, works her tail off to give good service. The problem is that she is the owner and the host and the waitress and the cook. Something has to give when it’s like that. FOOD: 4 Stars SERVICE: 2.5 Stars TOTALRATING: 3 Stars But do I recommend coming here? The answer is yes. I really struggled with rating this place because I want to rate it higher. This restaurant just lacked on key areas of service and it was too hard to ignore but the food is good and there aren’t that many Singapore Cuisine restaurants. The usual rule of thumb is that if it’s a 3 Star place, I won’t be back. It’s a one-and-done but this place sets a new precedent. While the food was good/great, I just couldn’t get past some basic things, but they are all easily fixable and I hope the owner sees this and fixes what she can. I also personally liked the owner and really appreciated her effort. Her effort gets a 5 Star Rating, by the way. SERVICE. There were only two people at the restaurant: the quiet guy in the back cooking and the nice Asian lady in the front. The lady in the front is also the owner. She takes your orders and also goes to the back to cook. That’s all fine and dandy if it this was a table venue at an outdoor market or a food truck, but when people are lining up to order and she has to take someone’s order and then go back to help the guy in the back prepare the food and then bring it out to the person’s table, service gets really bad, especially when you need something. Maybe they were understaffed that day because someone called in sick. That does happen. But if that wasn’t the case, they need to hire a couple more people so the owner doesn’t have to be the host, waitress and cook at the same time. NITPICKYHIGHLIGHT Even if you eat at the restaurant, they give you plastic utensils. I didn’t mind at first but got increasingly annoyed because the meals include robust bowls of noodle and broth – and the tiny plastic spoons kind of suck and make it easy to spill over yourself. FOOD Fantastic! We had the Laksa, the Char Hor Run, Char Kway Teow and the dried wontons. Incredibly savory and they adjusted the spice level to meet our expectations(because we likey the spicey). Highlight was the laksa which had a coconut curry broth that was to die for. That alone almost made me forget the service flaws. Close runner up was the Char Kway Teow, which consisted of stir fried flat rice noodles, slices of Chinese sausage, fishcakes and other crunchy vegetables and herbs, which is like a much greasier, much yummier version of Pad Thai. I don’t know much about Singaporean Cuisine so my palette may be a bit novice. But I do like the food here. And I will probably be back. And I DO recommend this place despite my 3 Star rating. I like the food(and the owner) enough to have faith that when I come back, I can give this place a better review – and I hope I do. TIPTOOWNER: The front of the restaurant only has pictures of boba tea which makes the place seem like a boba tea place. That can be misleading. Not a of people in Pasadena are as familiar with Singaporean Cuisine and would definitely try it. It would be great for the business if they had pictures of their food posted. That would definitely draw the passer-by-ers in. I found the place on Unilocal. But the pictures of the boba tea would have thrown me off had I just passed by it.

Quality of food: 5 stars Service: 4 stars Cleanliness: 4 stars This place is great! I HIGHLYRECOMMENDIT and can’t wait to try it again! My wife suggested QQ to me this past Friday night after she saw them advertised in a Unilocal email. Now I am elated to have found another hidden gem in Pasadena. We tried the Laksa, Char Hor Fun, popcorn chicked, and the fried tofu. The tofu blew my mind, the popcorn chicken took me back to China(amazing how our senses have such a powerful effect on jogging memories), and the Laksa and Char Hor Fun were both very fresh, unique, and delicious. I really want to give them five stars, but I will have to try them again a couple times to test for consistency, just to be fair(and I will). I will be updating this review in the near future. Cheers!

Friend wanted to see if the kopi here was like the ones she had in Singapore. Glad to report, she says it is! I had the iced kopi with condensed milk. It’s not as strong as Vietnamese coffee, and I like my coffee strong so next time I’ll try the kopi without milk and sugar. But I did feel the effects of the caffeine later on, as I simultaneously wanted to sleep and be awake. We also split a Char Kway Teow(#11 on the menu board). Quite good and comforting. The owners are so sweet and helpful. Just tell them what you’re in the mood for and they’ll give you recommendations. Unfortunately, hours are only Mon-Fri, 11am-7pm(probably catering only to the PCC crowd). Street parking only. It’s at the location where Lollicup was for the longest time, then it was something else I forget. Also free wi-fi!
