This is a gem of a little jewelry shop! It has such an amazing selection of unique Amber, Ruby, Rose Quartz, Rainbow Moonstone, Dichroic glass, Australian Crystals, Amethyst, Shell, Turquoise, Pearl, Citrine, etc. Fran is a sassy sweetheart who has managed Natural Selection for over 20 years and will do her best to find what you are looking for. She also carries seasonal scarves, small meditation statues, local artwork, and a constantly changing selection of Fire & Light glass. There is almost always something gorgeous and sparkly that I want to take home with me when I shop there! :)

Rude woman. Check out the«Made in China» boxes in the top window — I guess you’ll now remove them — never mind, I remembered to take pictures.

I would agree with Kim that they cater to the younger crowd but it’s a college town! Lots of really cool stuff. Jewelry, handbags, art, knick-knacks and baskets for carrying produce bought at the Farmers Market. Owner is always attentive and willing to help you select gifts. Prices are good and there is something for every budget.

This is the Arcata branch of the larger store in Eureka. Right on the main plaza beneath the hotel, it holds up the lower end of the arts and crafts market in Arcata. Not meaning that the quality is poor, but the the pieces are generally small, lower in price and easy to carry away than the competetion on the other side of the plaza. While well made, I would categorize the selection as a bit«cutsie,» which for me is a turn-off. After 30 minutes of browsing, I found nothing to buy, which is unusual for me. If looking for a gift for a student there, this is the place to come. But for more mature tastes, I would go elsewhere.
