I looooooooove boutique stores like this. And while I’m not going to be the customer that will spontaneously pay $ 198 for a leather purse, I might splurge on a $ 11 felted dog Christmas tree ornament.
Great place to buy all sorts of little home décor items and gifts for friends and family. Some of the items I loved: alphabet letters made out tin, a hundred different yummy-​smelling candles scents, unusual greeting cards, unique jewelry, Christmas tree ornaments, journals, kitchen essentials made out of teak /​bamboo, unusual pottery, etc.

THE funniest greeting cards I’ve seen anywhere. But wait, that’s not why I’m writing. I’m writing to let folks know that the customer service at Plaza is great. I purchased a pair of ‘Peepers’ reading glasses from them. After only 2 months, the glasses broke. I was disappointed and decided to ask if they could assist me in a repair or replacement. Well, they did exactly that! They ordered a new pair for me, no charge, and called me when they came in. Now that’s great customer service! Thanks, Plaza. I’ll definitely be back :)

This place carries a lot of great products. It is a place I come for gifts usually, but not for things for myself since it is a tad expensive. It is located on the… you guessed it… plaza :) I love perusing the store on an Arts Arcata! night. My friends registered for wedding gifts here and I loved that we could support a local business when shopping for them.

Rude staff that looks you up and down as you shop. Sure, they have some nice stuff. If I am gonna pay that kind of money for items, I don’t want to me made to feel like I am doing something wrong by looking. The treatment from the staff ruins whatever nice items they have. I went twice to go buy something, was treated rudely, set my items back, and walked out. Spend your money elsewhere.

Plaza WAS my favorite store on the plaza. I would stop in just to browse and always end up buying something. After my recent experience, I will not spend another dime. I recently stopped by to shop for a Mother’s Day present. I noticed a couple with two standard size poodles looking in the window. Then, much to my surprise, they walked in the store. I thought that the staff would kindly ask them to leave their dogs outside while they shopped. It was quite the opposite. The cashiers came out and fawned over the dogs like they were royalty. The dogs were blocking the jewelry cases, so I could not look at the items. In addition, one of the dogs rubbed his nose in some display pillows. It is not crazy to say that I would not want to spend $ 80.00, on a pillow that has dog slime on it. And, you know where dogs put their noses! So, in complete frustration, I asked the young man in the furniture department about Plaza’s dog policy. He made it quite clear that all accommodations would be made for dogs; they had never had any problems. Well, now I can only hope that the owners of Plaza see it as problem.

Beautifully displayed quality gifts and housewares. Perfect place to find an affordable gift. A fun shopping experience!

Great store! The girls working here were so lovely and helpful. Beautiful selection of Baroni Jewelry, La Vie, and Fire and Light glass. Looking forward to returning to this shop next time I am in Arcata.

Love this store. I can spend hours browsing at their items, great for gifts, lovely jewelry and just plain classy overall, yet you can find original stuff.

Its nice to finally have a store in Arcata in the same vein as Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel. I purchased a custom couch from Plaza a few months ago and could not be happier. The staff spent a lot of time with me to make sure that the couch was exactly what I wanted.
Even though I had to wait 8 weeks for the couch to be made (from what I understand this is typical for a custom furniture order), I am thrilled with the purchase.

Thankfully, Plaza (formerly Plaza Design) is back. Truly a feast for the senses. Finest design and still a good range of prices. Something for everyone. Lots of Fire and Light and so much more. You have to see and touch first hand.
