We stopped in here today while they were in the midst of prepping a catering order so we could only pick up from the prepared sushi. However, that in no way took away from the deliciousness of the sushi. The spicy tuna, spicy salmon and yellowtail were all exceptional with the yellowtail being a standout. The owner(??) /manager was really nice and gave us a free drink in addition to the waters. All in all a really good spot for fresh sushi on the main line. Nothing too fancy — but hits the spot! We will be back.

Unilocalers, you really disappointed me on this one. If I didn’t know better, I would think you’d all been paid for these reviews. We tried it tonight, and it was a disaster from the get go. For starters, the guy taking my order on the phone knew nothing about the menu. I had to repeat each item 4 or 5 times while he searched the computer to find it. Even then he got it wrong. While I ordered 3 rice balls, I got 3 orders, or 9 rice balls. If ordering was the only problem, I probably wouldn’t be writing this review. Truth is, the sushi was only mediocre. The selections were pretty much the same as what they offer at grocery stores. Admittedly, the fish was fresher, but that alone is not enough to get me back here. I’ll stick with real sushi places.

Wow! I’m impressed with Jason’s. After a long day of work, my SO and I wanted quick sushi. Unbeknownst to us, we walked into Jason’s minutes before closing yet the staff was very accommodating, despite being seconds from walking out the door. We grabbed a bunch of pre-prepared sushi(to not keep the kitchen open longer than it needed to be) but it was still very fresh and very tasty. We’ll be back!

Came here for sushi takeout. I gotta say the owner is really nice. He is very friendly and recommanded whats available for takeout. It does get very busy if you dont order in advance. The owner gave me free apps to try with our order. I must say i would definitely come back.

For quick and easy take out sushi on the Main Line, it doesn’t get much better than Jason’s Toridasu. But if you’re craving something fresher and made on the spot you can also get some inventive rolls and sashimi options prepared by skilled sushi artisans, or pick up plenty of other things like shrimp shumai and tuna rice balls. Toridasu is so easy and tasty that it oftentimes proves to be a challenge to avoid when I’m craving an eclectic weekend lunch given that I’m across the street. The cooler is fully stocked with sushi standbys like spicy salmon, eel cucumber, and tuna avocado; as well as plenty of dumplings, seaweed salad and other side options. But if you have a little more time for lunch you definitely want to take advantage of their ability to prepare fresh made rolls like Red Dragon with shrimp tempura, chopped tuna, and spicy sauce; the medley of fish in the rainbow roll, and the Toridasu Roll which is a spicy wasabi lovers dream. There’s also plenty of special rolls on the menu, and some combo platters that are fairly affordable(for sushi standards. Add in the fact that miso soup is free with every order and you have a solid spot.

I found Jason’s on Unilocal while traveling on business from Houston. The experience was so great that I came back for dinner the next evening. While the space is very small, the sushi is fantastic, everything is fresh and very well prepared. Not to mention that everyone is very accommodating and kind. This restaurant really is a gem, I love to see small family businesses like this that really care about quality and service.

Great sushi and very nice staff. The main chef is from the restaurant pod in Philly. Ingredients were very fresh and tasty. Better than any other sushi restaurant I’ve been to in the neighborhood. I will definitely be back!

Let me qualify this review first: we’re sushi savvy and have a kind of high bar for judging it. Like, we use top NYC and San Fran sushi restaurants as our yardstick. That said, we’ll be back to Jason’s. Sushi: two steps up from supermarket sushi(though the rice is similarly prepared). Certainly a good go-to when you want sushi and don’t feel like paying through the nose for a competently prepared roll. Basic, unpretentious fare, and it’s nice to see rice balls. We didn’t get them this time but maybe next time. Service: The young men running the front were very attentive, and checked to make sure I had chopsticks, spoons, free miso soup, free bottles of water, and napkins. Service is terrific, and well worth coming. The overall vibe is friendly, which is also a plus. Setting: It’s a takeout place, so don’t expect to sit at a bar. They have a case filled with pre-made sushi, seaweed salad, rice balls, and gyoza. I’m not sure that the freshly made sushi is any different than what’s in the case; it was all packaged the same. Also each roll we ordered was packaged separately and contained its own tub of wasabi and packet of soy sauce, so the rolls may very well have each been plucked from what was already in the case, and then put in our takeout bag. Regardless, Jason’s is clean, bright, and cleverly put together to capitalize on space(I was especially delighted with the miso soup, which is standard, but kept in a large, stainless, commercial coffee pot. Very clever!) All in all, a positive experience and good when all you want is a bit of miso soup and sushi to eat while watching TV at home. A-OK, as Unilocal puts it.

Delicious sushi… but when we came in around lunchtime on Monday entire case(I assume for sushi) was empty ;( They had ONE pre made rice ball pack and ONE something spicy with lots of mayo on top(pre made) It didn’t look inviting… Honestly, I’m a sushi-sashimi Freak but there was nothing to eat! — Ok — so we sat and ordered salmon lovers special and spicy tuna and nigiri and that was super delicious… but — the portions were TINY(6 pieces(Itsy-bitsy) and after paying $ 35 I was hungry!!! It’s way too expensive for take out and lack of ambiance I will come back but not very soon

Wow just wow!!! This place seems either fairly new or going under renovation. Either or, the sushi was sooo fresh and delicious! I saw this place had 5 stars and it is rare to see a place have 5 stars so I thought to give it a try. I can definitely see why it is ranked so high! The customer service was superb, the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, and the food was outstanding! Guys seriously if you want fresh sushi this is the place to go! && if it is your first time, you get a free drink! Woah! I cannot wait to take my boyfriend here! Literally nothing id change about my experience. Trust me you won’t regret it! I have had sushi that was soggy and not fresh and believe me, this place is not at all like that! And hey their rolls are tied tightly:)! Make sure you try their soup. I forget what it’s called But it was also really good!!!

We discovered Jason’s through a quick Unilocal!search on Black Friday(2015). Living in Ardmore for two years now, I had no idea it was here(the guy there said they opened in June). Be sure to call your order in because we tried to walk in and order and they were so slammed, they said the food would wake 1 hr and 45 mins. Disappointed, but we grabbed a few of the ready to go containers and some seaweed salad. First, the food was quite good for what it was. Better than any other place that does already prepped sushi(Wegman’s, Whole Foods, etc). I wish I could’ve tried their fresh stuff but there’s always next time. Second, the service was awesome for how busy they were. The guy(who I am assuming is the owner) was super friendly and I think he felt bad about how long the food would take so he threw in some rice balls(possibly my favorite part of the meal) and two drinks(we try to stay on the healthy side so we just got Coconut Water. otherwise we probably wouldn’t of gotten drinks). Food + Service + Price = Five Stars. A glance at my previous reviews will show that I’m a stickler for service, and I’ve always been a believer that if you have a good service and decent food, people will give you another shot. Ruin their experience with poor service and they are probably not coming back. Jason’s did an awesome job trying to make up for the long wait for food and we greatly appreciated it! And the food was great too!

A great addition to Ardmore! My girlfriend and I stopped in for a quick bite and if you’re here for first time they give you free drinks. Really fresh sushi and they even grate their own wasabi. Also free miso soup, which was great. It’s ideal for takeout since they don’t have much sitting space but don’t let that stop you from getting sushi here. The owner is very friendly!

Rarely do I give a full five star review, and only after a number of visits. Jason’s Toridasu is some of the freshest, most well prepared sushi in the Philadelphia area. I would include in that competitive set some very high-end eat-in establishments. That says a lot for a take out sushi place. This place is a standout. Fantastically fresh, and properly prepared fish, excellently prepared rice, and an owner that genuinely cares about his investment. The place has exploded with followers and regulars in a very short time. Go meet Jason and see what everyone is raving about… you will not be disappointed.

I was so pleased with my experience at Jason’s Toridasu that I created a Unilocal account just to write the good review it deserved. Fresh sushi. Friendly service. Fantastic spot. Highly recommended!!!

Full disclosure: I am really allergic to seafood. Because of this, I generally would not go to a restaurant where sushi is the main offering. However, Mayday and I were heading back from a school event in the city, he really loves sushi and he hadn’t gone to Jason’s yet. We stopped in on our walk home from the train. The restaurant itself is quite small, occupying a space formerly a mediterranean grill and prior to that a wings place. It’s set up primarily for takeout, with some tables set against walls for those who want to eat in. There’s an open refrigerated cooler where grab & go items for those in a rush. I ordered the cucumber roll, honestly my favorite sushi roll of all the non-fish options. Mayday got a combo with sushi and nigiri. For appetizers I picked gyoza, another favorite, and he got shrimp shumai. We were both given complimentary miso soup that comes with each order. Jason and his sushi artists were all quite friendly, helpful and funny. The setup for checkout is a little awkward, primarily because of the narrow space, but they make it work quite well. As for the food? Mine was completely YUM, very very fresh, and so was Mayday’s. He was especially complimentary of the freshness of the fish, he was quite impressed with the quality. There were no leftovers. I am certain Mayday will be back, along with the NMT and I may even stop to get my beloved cucumber roll again. It’s a great addition to the Ardmore dining scene and I’m thrilled to have them here.

I went here because I was craving sushi and Unilocal told me it was hot and new so I figured why not give it a try, it was not what I excepted. I ordered a California roll and shrimp tempura and when it came to raw sushi(which I don’t eat, it was for my boyfriend) I left it up to Jason to give me his favorites. Let me start off by saying that there was a bit of a wait but the wait is well worth it and Jason has to be the sweetest person I have ever observed. Let me state that it was almost closing time and it was standing room only. Jason apologize profusely for the wait and even offered free drinks and free miso soup and sushi to try and even edamame to people while they waited. He went above and beyond to accommodate his customers and that’s how every establishment should be. I’d already decided to come back before my sushi was ready but because of the customer service. On to the sushi my California roll was just perfect it was creamy and delicious, it’s the best California roll I’ve had. I will definitely come back for more! As for the tuna roll my boyfriend rated it 9 out of 10. Overall it’s great sushi and a great place to order take out and soon they will deliver!

What a great addition to the neighborhood. I couldn’t wait for this place to open up, since it’s right around the corner from my apartment. I was greeted at the door by the owner immediately upon stepping through the door. He’s very friendly and it’s obvious that he is very passionate about his business. The sushi chef was also very nice, and I watched him prepare my delicious Spicy Salmon Roll right in front of me. The prices are incredible. For a little over $ 9 you can order a nine-piece sushi roll, which comes with a bowl of miso soup and a small bottled water. Additionally, in honor of the Grand Opening this week, I was given a generous portion of edamame on the house! Although it will still take some time for these guys to fully set up shop, it’s already worth checking out. From the stellar customer service to the fresh and delicious sushi, I can already tell that I’ll be a regular here!
