Worst New Years Eve Ever This was one of my favorite places, however after a horrible experience that is no longer the case. My family and I(3 adults, 1 child) went to mt fuji for new years eve dinner. We do not eat out very often and look forward to fun night out. This evening we all started with appetizers which were delicious. I had my usual steak and lobster entrée. The steak was cooked perfect and I ate a few bites. The lobster however was bad and I could tell by the smell of it(after tasting and swallowing the first bite) that something was wrong. It smelled like ammonia or rotten fish. I immediately called the waitress over and after she smelled it she agreed it was rotten and took the dish away. In a panic of food poisoning I went to the bathroom and threw up. Of course my party lost their appetite because of the situation and we’re done eating after only a few bites of food. I can overlook one bad lobster tail in the case but the response from management was horrible. First, others in my party did not want the food that they ordered after my bad dish and the waitstaff took their plates away. The server apologized perfusly then brought our check, which included us being charged for all of our food(even the bad lobster). I asked to see a manager and she immediately came over and told me to go see a doctor because she did not think the food was bad. I explained that I only ate a bite and vomited up the bad food. She agreed to take of the lobster dish but we had to pay for everything else(even what we didn’t eat) she also kept saying the chef said the lobster was fine and that I was making the whole thing up. That is not the response we should have received and after paying 80 dollars for food we did not eat, throwing up, and being called a lier, we left hungry and our big night out was ruined. Mt. Fuji have you ever heard of customer service? STAYAWAY…

I find the sushi to be pretty solid here– also the byo makes it for a more affordable dinner especially since it is so close to the beer shoppe. I have gotten take out here just as much as eating in – both have been good experiences. Definitely the best sushi place in the area.

The ambience is calmIng and modern. I like that in a sushi place. Husband and I came here late on a Saturday night and the place only had two other couples. Sashimi — Husband loved it! Fried oysters — I loved it! Fancy tuna roll — We loved it! Chicken with vegetables — Husband loved it! We didn’t realize it is a BYOB so next time we’ll be prepared.

This place had been average at best– overpriced, not the best quality sushi. They advertise rolls with King and blue crab in them but then substitute the fake krab and still charge the same price. At the very least they could be honest about what you’re getting or lower the price. However, after the last time we ordered from this place, I have to knock the rating down further. My sister, brother-in-law, and me all got food poisoning right before Christmas from the sushi. Not the best way to celebrate the holidays. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

I was part of a large party(about 33 people) with a set meal and it was good but not great — I have a feeling ordering off the«regular» menu would have yielded better results. Meanwhile, service was good — especially by Will & Anna — and the lady at the reception desk is very kind also. Tofu & Veggie soup was good. Salad was your basic iceberg with ONE slice of cucumber and one small wedge of pale tomato. Kinda blah.(Got the overly sweet ginger dressing on the side). Sushi was the best part and the tuna avocado and salmon avocado maki were both good(4 star for that). Salmon teriyaki dinner was a bit too well done for me — but again it was part of a «set» meal and if I ever went back i would have ordered it more on the rare side. I dither between 3&4 stars but dated décor and food improvements that are needed prevent me from giving a higher review. In the mean time for a cost effective group party they can accommodate about 30 –35 people in the back dining area.

I ordered takeout here once and I won’t be back. I don’t normally like posting bad reviews, but this was some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The spicy tuna roll was not fresh and had more of the crunchy stuff than actual fish. The prices were reasonable but that’s about it. I did order takeout on a Sunday night so I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it, but the fish was definitely not fresh.

I love this place! My favorite sushi place on the Main Line(and I’ve tried most of them). The california rolls are delicious, and the cali rolls with king crab are worth the upcharge. I also love the Perfect Couple Roll, which has a spring roll inside of it. The American Dream roll is really good too, and if you’re a big sashimi fan, they have quality cuts. Definitely recommend above all the others!

Dear Tokyo roll, My boyfriend and I are slightly obsessed with you. I am not usually a «regular» anywhere because I like trying new places. I guess I am now a regular here though. We always get the Filet Mignon Carpaccio and the Tokyo roll to share. Such yumm, much delicious. They don’t always have the carpaccio which forces us to make some some hard 2nd choice decisions. We have tried the 3 musketeers and untouchable roll and the salmon alvacado. They were all very good. Mt Fuji is also open pretty late on weekdays and we tend to eat later. Byob for the win.

Customer service is horrible since Kelvin left. The quality of the food has also decreased. I will start exploring alternative sushi options. Sooo sad as this was my favorite place for sushi. Bring back KELVIN!!!

Great sushi at reasonable prices, with a delicious selection of signature sushi rolls that warrants repeat visits. People can get really snobby when it comes to sushi, so when you see a place ranked as highly as Mt. Fuji, in the burbs no less, it should make you pay attention. I’m happy I did, as Mt Fuji has some really excellent sushi options at prices that won’t leave a cratering hole in your wallet. Coming for lunch on a Saturday, the place was actually pretty empty, so we were seated immediately and service was very attentive. The menu is pretty broad with sushi, teriyaki, sashimi, tempura, and hibachi options. My girlfriend and I opted for mostly sushi(of course). We started with the sashimi appetizer($ 10), which included six pieces of delicious raw fish(tuna, yellow tail, and salmon) perfectly cut and served at a little below room temperature. Next we ordered two signature rolls, the Foxy Lady($ 14) and the Mt. Fuji King Roll($ 16). This is where Mt. Fuji shines in my opinion, with some really unique flavors. The Foxy Lady consisted of calamari tempura, papaya, and apple topped with spicy salmon in momiji and ruta sauce. I’m not sure the calamari and the apple taste worked necessarily, but I love that they tried and gave me a really unique roll that was still very good. The Mt. Fuji was the best, made with tempura king crab, avocado and shrimp, topped with spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail. Lots of fish, not a lot of super fishy flavor — the seafood all worked together, from the crab to the spicy fish, to deliver one of the better rolls I’ve had. For dessert we ordered the Green Tea mochi($ 5). This was a little confusing, as we got two mochi cut in fours with whip cream, chocolate syrup, and sprinkles on top. While I appreciated the presentation, the toppings are a little unnecessary and don’t really go with the green tea flavor. That being said, I still enjoyed the mochi, and would still recommend it, especially if you’ve never had it. After trying sushi all over the east coast, I’m confident in saying that Mt. Fuji offers some of the better sushi I’ve had.

The food is on point. It’s BYOB, so that’s a good start. Dim lighting, non raucous music to allow a nice conversation. Good ambience. Quick service, the servers are very friendly, although can be a little awkward at times. We ordered the coconut shrimp roll and the angry dragon roll and we were very satisfied with both. Our friends got the dinner combo that also came with a miso soup and garden salad, which is pretty good value for the price. Overall, we had a very pleasant dinner. :)

Not the best sushi/Japanese. Slow service. The only positives are this place is BYOB and the Pineapple Fried Rice. And the décor is really nice. Worth checking out once, but would not return.

I am honestly so shocked at the high reviews of this place. I can only assume these reviews were written by people who do not eat sushi often. When we first walked in, we were greeted with friendly servers and a slightly upscale décor, which led me to think this dining experience was going to be wonderful. We ordered sushi and sashimi combo, and the scallop bento box. The scallop bento box was actually a decent deal, with scallops, tempura, shumai, soup, and salad for $ 17. But, everything on this plate was cooked, so we had no problems. However, the sushi and sashimi were bad enough to leave sashimi pieces behind, which I’ve NEVER done at any sushi restaurant in my life. Some of the sashimi pieces were inappropriately cut, and also had a watery interior and funky color, which tells me their fish had been frozen. Their nigiri slices were even more oddly cut — thin, ripped, and sloppy. The person who had to eat the tuna nigiri literally referred to it as «jerky.» Lastly, their spicy tuna avocado roll was ½ avocado, ¼ tempura flakes, leaving only ¼ of the filling to be spicy tuna. Talk about CHEAP. The sushi/sashimi here alone would get a flat ONE star. However, their kitchen food items seem fine, which bumps to a 2. And, like everyone said here, this place is BYO with super friendly staff, so I feel obligated to give a 3. But service alone is not enough to return to a sushi joint, so I definitely will NOT be returning.

Is it possible to overdose on sushi? I came here for a late weekend lunch and my friend and I had the place to ourselves. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly. She gave us lots of time to look over the menu and answered all of our questions about the food. We decided to go for a couple of appetizers and deluxe rolls, to be consumed family-style. It was definitely a feast for the eyes, in addition to the stomach! Everything was beautiful and yummy! I loved the citrus-infused water as well. My only complaint is that the prices are a little steeper than I expected. I’ve definitely had better sushi in the city for a much more affordable bill. Still, that is to be expected for the Main Line. I will almost certainly return.

YUM! Stopped in for lunch today. Excellent lunch specials for sushi, bento box, or hibachi items. We sat at the sushi bar and ordered the sushi lunch special — 3 rolls for $ 11. Can’t beat that price! Spicy tuna, salmon avocado, and shrimp tempura rolls were all delightful and fresh. Special also comes with a miso soup to warm your bones. We also had the spider roll and the amazing tuna roll which was AMAZING! Only complaint about the place was little gnats hanging around were a bit annoying! Otherwise décor is on point, cozy but eclectic. Would definitely be a great weekend date night place!

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited Mt. Fuji. I think it’s safe to say it’s one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I have never had a negative experience here. The food is always on point whether you’re ordering sushi or something from the kitchen. The staff is very attentive and always willing to answer any questions you might have about a menu item. You will not be disappointed with a visit to Mt. Fuji. This restaurant is byob and there is a craft beer store and wine and spirits right in the same plaza. You really can’t wrong.

Was looking for a sushi place near delco, and saw this place had good reviews. I’m really glad we went! We called ahead on our way there on a Saturday around 6pm. They said it would not be a problem seating our party of 4. We arrived and were seated right away, in a booth near the door. The restaurant was probably 80% full, with a few parties arriving around the same time as us. We all ordered different rolls to share, including the Mt. Fuji King Roll, Autumn of Philly Roll, Out of Control Roll, Yellowtail Roll, and Salmon Roll. We also got some hot green tea. As we were waiting for the food, our drinks were always filled, but the service was not overbearing. Our sushi did not take long to come out, probably around 15 minutes. Everything was tasty and satisfying. I do wish the spicy rolls were spicier… my mouth was not burning at all afterwards! I think the chefs could probably have less ingredients in each roll to bring out the flavors more in each, but overall, I was happy with my meal. A good choice for sushi in the burbs.

We came here with a group of 8 on a Saturday night. They were very accommodating when we had to change our reservation. Our server was incredibly patient and nice. She was also great about refilling my water glass about 12 times. I was very thirsty. I got an order of the Philly and spicy yellow tail rolls. YUM! They were great. My boyfriend got the spicy roll combo which was a great bang for his buck considering he got 18 pieces, soup and a salad for $ 17. I would definitely come back, especially considering that parking wasn’t an issue.

Legitimately would call this one of my new favorite restaurants, and I cannot wait to go back the next time I am in Pennsylvania. This is literally what I would call a gem restaurant. The décor is outstanding. Beautiful. Don’t let me get started on the sushi. These perfectly crafted and fresh rolls are unlike anything I’ve tasted thus far. Gourmet, visually stunning, and dangerously tasty. The combination of rice with ingredients such as mushrooms, avocado, sweet potato and mango is spot on. Prices are extremely reasonable. The appetizers are amazing as well. Really just about everything here is outstanding. I dream about it at night and drool over photos of it throughout the day. Sounds like a 5 star establishment to me. Keep it up Mt. Fuji, without doubt coming back for more.
