Great food! Love all the different types of curry. It is typically on the milder side. If you prefer extra spicy, just ask and they will accommodate. Great service. BYOB is also a plus! I would definitely recommend this place!

Let me start by saying that I think it probably is closer to a 4 star establishment but I needed to over compensate for all the terrible yuppy-mainline reviewers. I will also say that any unpleasantries are more likely to be caused by the fact that restaurant is attached to the sad excuse for an irish bar, jack McShea’s. I have been to this siamese princess multiple times and have always had a good experience. Good food for the price, nice cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The service can be slow but it is clearly a mom and pop joint– it seats like 30 people max– what do you expect. Almost every time I have eaten in this place, get take out more often, I have heard atleast one table of snobby, over entitled main liners complain about something irrelevant. Recently had to listen to an ass hole loudly complain about how his bold and spicy shrimp was not hot enough. The waitress politely offered to make it more spicy for him and said they err on the side of their dishes being not spicy enough because they could always add… Then he cut her off, demanded a menu so he could point the dish out to her and that it said«bold and spicy» and he claimed it was neither. Listen jackass she said she would make it spicier so don’t ram it down her throat, we get it your a lawyer. I am so tired of living on the mainline and dealing with such pricks. Never open a restaurant on the mainline, these savages will never be satisfied. In summary the food is good, waitstaff is very courteous — could be faster at times, and is a very enjoyable place to get a meal. The patrons are hit or miss… Mainly a miss.

We came here on Christmas Eve and this place was packed! We had a great time here, good food and good service in a cozy restaurant. The Tom yum soup was delicious, which was a good start to the meal. We ordered two entrees from the specialty section, both had huge portions and a abundance of vegetables. Get the coconut rice. It’s absolutely delicious. I can eat it by itself for a meal! The spring rolls had wraps a little too thick for our liking, but still well flavored. The best part is obviously the BYO. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of wine when you come. Service was fast, courteous and pleasant. This is not one of the fancy restaurants, rather a comfortable, cute Thai place. But can be a great stop for a casual date night or family/friends outing!

So we moved to the Main Line from the City a few weeks ago. We’ve been in search of good Thai since. Based on the Unilocal reviews, we tried Siamese Princess. The food was incredibly oily and not very tasty relative to the better Thai places in Philadelphia. Maybe we’re spoiled but I don’t think we’ll be going back to Siamese Princess.

The best Thai, until today. Ordered Pad Thai, was pretty good. Also ordered summer rolls. The best was green tea ice cream.

The food here ranged from reasonably good to quite mediocre. At the forefront, the coconut soup with seafood(the special of the day) was spiced just right with lovely shrimp, only slightly marred by some rather tough squid. My friend ordered spring rolls which she found satisfying. My main course of green curry was merely passable — the accompanying sticky rice was too tiny a portion to soak up the sauce, and the curry itself was pasty with minimal flavor. On service the restaurant utterly failed. The waiter(proprietor?) only came over to us when we either walked across the restaurant to get him, or loudly called out his name.(We actually learned his name from another patron; as we attempted every possible way to attract the waiter’s attention, this patron said«His name is Sam. Just yell out Sam and he will come».) Eventually, using this strategy we got Sam to come over. At that point we had waited a half hour for him to take our initial orders, including drinks. As the meal progressed the problems with service persisted. Several times we walked over to Sam and asked for additional items. Furthermore one in our party noticed that her tea, for which she had patiently waited 40 minutes, was lukewarm — not hot enough to brew with a teabag. She eventually received new tea, but no apology. I won’t be going back.

Not super authentic food but close to it. I ordered the panang curry and my husband had the pineapple chicken dish and they were both fantastic. The presentation on the pineapple chicken was beautiful(it was served in half a pineapple). The tom ka kai soup was hardy but the coconut flavor was a little weak – overall a 4⁄5 on the soup. The server was friendly and respectful. The place was dimly lit for a romantic feel. Overall a great place for a date night. It’s BYOB. Will definitely go back.

Hands down the absolute worst Thai restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. I recently moved into the area and as my friends boasted about the authenticity of this restaurant, I thought I’d give it a try– that was not a good idea. I ordered the Pad Thai which I can undoubtedly say was the worst dish I’ve had at any restaurant. It was not properly cooked and radiated a disgusting stench. The service was non existent and when I asked the waiter about the preparation he did acknowledge my question. Later that night I became extremely ill. Save yourself the trouble and don’t go!!!

We got take out so can’t speak to the dining experience but the food was really good. The Massaman curry chicken was delicious and they give you a good portion. My girlfriend got the vegetable drunken noodles and those were ok but not as good as my dish. We also had the corn cakes which were fine, fairly basic but the sauce was good that came along with it. Pay cash and your bill will be cheaper. Good experience here and would definitely come back.

Initially wasn’t too excited about the tom kha(coconut milk) soup. It was missing some key ingredients such as kaffir lime leaves and ginger which was replaced by lettuce(very disappointing). But they made up for it with their own take of thai eggplant dish. I had it withe the crispy duck. It was really good. I will give them another shot with few other items on the menu.

I have been here several times since I live right around the corner. I had a bad experience several years ago. I thought I would give it another shot. I took my finicky 13 year old son. It was his first time trying Thai food. He had the drunken noodles with chicken. I had the Thai eggplant with chicken. We shared the chicken spring rolls. Not a morsel was left. Everything was fantastic. The flavor of the food was wonderful along with the beautiful presentation of our platters. This is a small byob with one waiter who was great and on the ball. I revisited last night with my lady friend and a bottle of amazing wine. This time I had the bold and spicy shimp while my vegetarian friend had the yellow curry. She remarked it was the best meal she ever had.

Let’s be honest for a second: long distance relationships suck. So, when my boyfriend came to town this weekend, I wanted to take him somewhere amazing! Having visited Thailand this past summer, my standards are pretty high now whenever I’m on the hunt for good Thai food. This place honestly hits the nail on the head. First of all, I love the décor inside – it’s super peaceful and cozy, and very intimate, without being stuffy. Most importantly, the food is amazing. We started off with the Veggie Spring Rolls, which were awesome. I hate it when spring rolls get too mushy. These had the perfect amount of crunch! For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai(always a crowd favorite) and my other half got the Drunken Noodles. By far the best Thai I’ve had on the Main Line. The presentation was beautiful. Our waiter was also marvelous. He removed our appetizer right as we were finishing up and brought our entrées out immediately after. He was very attentive and even cracked a few jokes with us. I wish I could remember his name; we gave him a great tip. Siamese Princess helped me have a truly warm and happy reunion with my boyfriend. I will definitely be back! I might even bring my parents here when they come to town next week.

Its been really difficult for me to find good Thai food in the Philadelphia area. I have been ruined since traveling to Thailand in 2012 because the food was simply incredible. I forgot my lunch one day at work, so I took a walk to grab some Thai takeout at a place near this place by my office. It was a pretty quick walk, and I headed out right after I ordered because they said it would be ready in 15 minutes and when I arrived it was. I took it back to the office and set it up immediately I ordered the green curry that came with a side salad with peanut dressing and white rice. I dumped all of my rice into the container with the curry and immediately dug it. It was still piping hot, and it had a really nice amount of heat to it. Traditional flavors for sure. Thai basil, coconut, chiles, carrots, onion, the balance of flavor was great. The rice soaked up a nice amount of the curry as well, leaving each and ever bite flavorful and comforting. The side salad was definitely lack luster. The dressing was not my favorite. It was very fatty and the flavor wasnt great, I would have preferred not to have gotten it at all. I will definitely be back to fill my Thai cravings. This is the best I have found yet in the area, and its definitely affordable and worth the visit.

We’ve just returned from our worst experience ever in a restaurant.(we are 64 and ate in countless number of restaurants in the globe) Siamese Princes used to be great in the past. In the present, I recommend to look for a better restaurant, with a decent service and food. The food was tasteless, a take away from the cheapest place, taste better. We ordered a special dish named«Love and passion», what we received was far from the description in their menu. Very far !!! Instead of a stuffed chicken with all goodies, they served a tiny chicken, size of a pigeon, bones and skin, no stuffing what so ever. I told the server, that this was not what we ordered. He insisted, that this was the order, told me that it takes too much time to make it stuffed, so they stopped making it. He argued with me and would not reduce any of the overcharged 17 $ for this tasteless dish. It was so far from what it promised in the menu !!! Bad service, bad food. our anniversary dinner was the worst ever.

This became one of our default go-to places as soon as we tried it. There are some dishes that we love so much(starting with the Tom Kai Gai Coconut Soup for her and the Tom Yum Lemongrass Soup for me) that we get them every time. Beyond that we’ve loved everything we’ve tried but tend to over order just because there are so many things that tempt us.

Finally came here for dinner. WOW is all I have to say. Service is speedy and food is amazing. I think I might be a green curry addict. That is one of the best things I’ve eaten in a loooooooooooong time.

I had the Massuman Curry with chicken. It was spot on. My friend had the drunken noodles with tofu. He loved the dish as well. Great Thai food!
