Hey it kind of sucks to hear that Danny’s Pizzeria is gone. It was bad enough that Bogies was closed. Me and my friend Tim Carlson would always go to Bogies until it closed. Danny’s Pizzeria was a little bit too far of a drive for me. I wish I could have told my friend Tim about Danny’s Pizzeria before Tim Carlson died. Tim was good friends with Letia Carlson same last name but no relation. I almost had the job at Ultra Foods and I would pay Danny’s Pizzeria a visit. I will miss Danny’s Pizzeria but I will miss Bogies Ale House even more and I will miss Tim Carlson more.

Sadly, Danny’s is now closed. It was a very unique, neighborhood find.

We’ve been here several times before, but it seems like they’ve given up trying to please tonight. Went in for their hamburger special, and even though they said«no substitutions, they were ready to up-charge onion rings instead of fries for my son, but would not bring out a salad instead of fries for me. I also waited over :20 for a clean knife to replace the dirty one in my napkin and ended up sharing my son’s knife to butter some bread while the person I initially asked walked by the table several times to play with balloons. With two nearly empty water glasses on the table, my son requested a re-fill, which he got, while mine wasn’t even acknowledged. Very disappointing service tonight although the hamburgers were good.

Danny’s so much to say, so little space! I first met this place when I had my daughter’s 21st Birthday party there last December! They were so helpful, we planned the menu together, they assured me awesome food, and a semi-private area to celebrate in, they OUTDID themselves!!! They were reasonably priced, the service was excellent, even though they were very busy that night. I just moved back to the area, and that night the first thing I did was order their pizza. It arrived hot, delicious & yummy. I have had other pizza in this area, won’t mention names, but tried ALL of them… There is NOTHING better then Danny’s!

Tried Danny’s for the first time for pizza carryout. It was finally ready 20 min after I was told it would be ready. The crust was pretty good but the sauce and cheese were both very unevenly distributed. Some spots had way too much sauce and almost no cheese and other areas had almost no sauce and very thick cheese. My family fid not care for their mix of cheeses. Overall I would say it was not bad or good. I would give it 2.5 stars if possible by I can’t so I rounded up.

I found Danny’s by being early for an appointment in the area around dinner time and Unilocaling food options around so I could grab a quick bite to eat. Danny’s popped up, most of the reviews seemed good enough so I went in and I have to say everything I read was true. I really like it there — its very small, to be honest the layout is a bit odd but I can easily look past that. The lighting is dim(I like it that way), the server was incredibly friendly, made some recommendations since it was my first visit, and brought a basket of nice warm bread while I waited. I ended up ordering a pizza, it was delicious, seriously zero complaints with the food, it was very good(and even better leftover the next day) The server signed me up for the rewards card and a few weeks later I received a $ 10 off coupon in the mail, not a bad reason to go back :) I’ve been back a few times since, there was one time I had an odd server but he was still very nice and the food has held up each time. Its hard to vary from the pizza but I’ve also had the lasagna(wow), calamari, and chicken marsala. If you’re around I would highly consider stopping in or even ordering carry out.

I grew up basically right behind the strip mall where Danny’s is located. Over the years, only a few things have stuck around in the mall: Yen Yen and Terramere Cleaners. Pompeii, which used to occupy the space where Danny’s is, was also there for years. I’m hoping that Danny’s can stick around for a long time too! On that note, before we go any further, let’s pour one for Stewart’s Red Hots and White Hen, shall we? Okay — so. I saw that Danny’s went in about a year ago, but had never really thought to stop. We live about a half mile away, so, there was really no reason not to. Last week we went in on a Thursday, both extremely hungry, for an early dinner. We decided to sit at the bar rather than at a table in the dining room area, and I’m glad we did! We got to meet and chat with the owners, Margaret and Jeff — who are both very friendly and you can tell they care about their restaurant. Margaret was quick to take drink orders, tell us about their special(a $ 5.00 ½ lb burger and fries on Thursdays, also $ 3.00 craft beers(bottled.)) She also let us know that August is their anniversary month — so they’re running a special every day for the month of August, in addition to their daily specials. As we decided between burgers, pizza, and pasta, she brought us a loaf of freshly baked bread — in house — to nibble on. Very tasty. So, the BF and I have pretty different tastes when it comes to pizza. He’ll put basically anything on a pizza, and I’m a little bit pickier. Sure, every once in awhile I’ll get down on a pepperoni/pineapple ‘za, but most of the time, I’m mostly a veggie eater. I also like thin crust, while he indulges in double-dough. So naturally, we ordered two pizzas. Mine: Original thin crust, mushroom, spinach, sausage. I know, I just said I’m usually a veggie eater, however, Margaret let me know that they have a butcher special grind and spice their sausage daily, so I had to give it a shot. His(I’m being serious.): Double-dough crust, sausage, pepperoni, bacon, Canadian bacon, mushroom, pineapple, fresh garlic. I couldn’t bring myself to try a bite, but he said it was really good. I loved everything about this pizza. The crust, sauce, cheese-to-topping ratio — it was all great. My 9″ pizza with 3 toppings was $ 9.99 — not a bad deal. After 3 toppings they stop charging per topping, that’s good to know too! Danny’s also offers a 10″ gluten free crust for those of you who are sensitive to that. Even though our lease is up in a few short months and we’ll probably be moving into the city — we both thought that Danny’s could be our ‘spot.’ We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and people. Will definitely be back.

Thin crust was delicious. Just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings with a buttery crisp crust. Da bomb.

Pretty darn good pizza. Draft selection is not good but they carry a decent selection of craft bottles. Would definitely come again if in the area. The décor is a little strange… Seemingly random and out of place bicycle with training wheels hovers dangerously above tables and the bar… Still. Good food.

Good extensive menu of sandwiches, burgers, salads, pasta. Spaghetti and Gnocci were very good. Servicers are friendly and attentive. Pizza was also very good, but, only thin crust or double dough — no stuffed, no pan. No vegetarian sandwich or burger options on menu. Always there are daily specials, holiday specials, drink specials, birthday specials(if you join the free club)! A good place for family, friends, lunch, dinner, and conversation. Eat local!

I came in the other night with a buddy to grab some grub & watch some of the Blackhawks game. The reviews of this place made me curious to stop in since I’ve driven by so many times but didn’t really notice Danny’s was there. We sat at the bar & had great service. After we ordered, the bartender brought out a nice warm loaf of sliced bread to munch on while we waited & it was fantastic. We went with a 16″ sausage pie & it was really good. The sausage had a good flavor & seemed lighter than most sausage pizza’s I’ve had. The thin crust reminded me of Lou’s, but the taste & overall execution was better. We had the chocolate chip cookie dessert also which came in a small circular tin, I thought the cookie would take up the entire bottom of the tin but there was more ice cream & whipped cream in there than cookie which was the only minor disappointment of my visit. This is a nice, quiet little spot with good service & tasty pizza, definitely worth stopping in!

My fiancé & I live only down the street, & didn’t want to drive all the way down to Joes pizzeria. We ordered the 14 inch thin crust, & I was pleasantly surprised how good this $ 13 pizza was. The crust wasn’t a cracker like crust, not too think either. Also, the staff was very friendly. Overall was very good & will go back again soon, will write up another post when I do.

Great thin-crust pizza and an all-around great menu and superb, friendly service! They’re also reasonably priced, offer a lot of specials, and have a decent craft beer selection(although all bottled/canned — not on tap). As of the writing of this review, Danny’s is still fairly new at this location. During both of my two visits, they weren’t too crowded. But once people discover this hidden gem, I’m sure business will start booming for Danny’s. First visit: Dinner. We had the bar area completely to ourselves, despite there being a Blackhawks playoff game on. There were a small number of families in the dining area and a semi-regular flow of carryout customers. We tried the pizza, ½lb burger & fries(on special for $ 5 that day), and Nachos w/guac. Nacho plate was huge! Pizza was perfectly done. Burger was good(Superb at that price!) They also give you a warm roll of bread. Service was fast, accommodating, and super-friendly. We felt very welcome there. That day(Thursday), they had a craft beer special. They handed me a list of about 15 – 20 craft beers which were $ 3.50 each. You’re not going to get a Revolution Anti-hero IPA for $ 3.50 at many places. Second visit: Lunch. We won a gift card in their Easter raffle, so we returned promptly to use it for lunch. They have a lunch special menu along with their full menu. Very affordable — sandwiches with a side of soup or salad for around $ 6 each on the lunch menu. We both tried the mini sliders and soup — not disappointed at all. We both ordered a side of fries — should have ordered just one and shared. Lunch on a weekday was even less busy than dinner despite the great selection of food for reasonable prices. I really think this place is a hidden gem, and I hope for their sake that they can get people to try them out. I’m sure they would build up a following. So, if you live in the AH, BG, Wheeling area, give Danny’s a shot — not just for carryout pizza(of which there are about 500 other places nearby). Dine in and explore their menu. You won’t be disappointed!

We love this place! It’s intimate and quiet and you can tell the people that come in are regulars. They have a great selection of beers and spirits, with an Italian menu that it’s totally delicious. But I can’t recommend their pizzas more, competitive pricing and plenty of ways to customize makes for a combo for any cravings. Word of warning, the jalapenos are extremely spicy, they leave the seeds in!!! The staff are friendly and it’s just a really nice place to eat at or get delivery or take out from. I think this might become«our place»

A stormy/snowy January Saturday night may not be the best time to visit a new restaurant, but this one managed to be friendly and pleasant even though we were the only ones in the dining room when we sat down.(The bar was busy, though). By the time we left, there were several more tables occupied. Reviews so far have been for Pizza, but we wanted Italian entrees, and the menu has a smallish but appropriate selection — along with ribs, sandwiches etc. We tried the Chicken con Broccoli pasta and the Chicken Marsala. Both come with soup or salad at around 13 – 14 bucks. Each of these was a delicious choice, and while the salad was a fine basic side salad, the red pepper soup was outstanding. Service was especially friendly and helpful the night we came in. Perhaps the Pizza is great, but its a fine casual Italian entrée place as well.

Great tasting pie for a great price. The sausage on their pizza is delicious. Pretty bug delivery radius. The sandwiches and wraps are definitely something I’ll have the try. Will definitely come back

Pizzeria done right! Was very impressed with this new establishment. As soon as we walked in the door we felt very welcome by the friendly staff. This is a newly remodeled restaurant and they have done a fine job of using the available space. The bar is impressive and makes for an unobtrusive divider between the bar area and the dining area, can be a plus if you just want to be part of one or the other. The décor is nice, and this place definitely has a homely and friendly feeling to it. We got the Siriracha hot wings and they were delicious, crispy on the outside tender on the inside and the sauces, both ranch and bleu cheese were of very high quality. We also got a pizza which was very good too. Fresh toppings with a great crust, tasty cheese and rich sauce. Everything about the experience was a plus, from great service, excellent drinks to great food and ambiance. They also have specials for every day of the week, both drink and food. We will definitely be back again, I encourage you to check this place out, you might even see Danny himself while you’re there, but please don’t disturb him if hes doing his homework =).
