The Hubby & I came here to get a few drinks during Happy Hour. We also got appetizers and sat at the Bar. The Bar area is very large and had only one Bartender working that night. This was kinda strange to me since this was their popular Happy Hour night! My husband thought the cocktails were just okay. We ordered the Spinach Dip and I ordered the Diva, Martini. I had heard so many reviews about this drink. While it was good and had a little kick of liquor. It was just not enough for me! Sorry its the Irish in Me… Now as the night went on we noticed we saw less and less of the Bartender. When we waved for his attention he would motion to us but never came to our aid. Now this goes back to what I mentioned earlier that he was the only one on Duty at the Bar. So my experience was not horrible but it was just okay. It Bar Louie will not be on my list of must have when I think of dining our or Happy Hour. But Hey we came & we did not concur!

We waited 20 minutes to pay. Saw our waitress twice. Other servers had to take our refill orders because she was no where to be seen. Terrible service and we won’t be back.

We’ve been here for almost 2 hours, at the patio, and have seen the waitress twice. Literally, TWICE! Waitstaff is extremely rude. If there was a zero rating, I would give it.

Went Friday night with family for happy hour. Portions were average. Calamari was good but mostly lettuce at bottom so the portion was ver small. Drinks for happy hour were decent. Lemon drop martinis were half full. Waiter was nice. Received food pretty fast. Nice deco. Will go back!

Nice place to go for drinks and just hanging out with friends. Bartenders are friendly. Drinks are overpriced if you go during regular business hours.

Reviewer: Christene D Restaurant Justice reply: If you really know about wine you would know that bad bottles sometimes happen. Common sense says the restaurant can’t tell if it’s bad until it has been opened. Don’t give 1* ratings because you don’t understand wine. Not to mention merlot and Riesling are both laughable low quality wines. Be honest, be fair and a good reviewer.

I came here for drinks with some friends. We sat at the bar and order the Pineapple Express, strawberry margarita, berry mojito, and a blue moon. The Pineapple Express was sweet and you couldn’t really taste the alcohol. The strawberry margarita was decent… Wished it had a little bit more of the strawberry flavor. The berry mojito tasted like straight juice. Super sweet(for those of you who don’t like the alcohol taste but still want the alcohol effect).

The only reason I’m giving 1 star instead of zero is because our waiter was nice and tried to accommodate us. I understand this is a martini bar and that’s what they’re known for. But having good wine should be standard for any bar and restaurant. We ordered a glass of canyon ridge merlot and a glass of Riesling. And they both tasted sour and horrible. And the bartenders are far from accommodating.

I stopped by here with some friends around happy hour and ordered a bunch of appetizers and some drinks. Apparently we came a few minutes too early– although we were clearly ordering from the happy hour menu, they charged us full price. Just something to notice and ask about. We ordered a buffalo flatbread and trio dips and chips. The flatbread was flavorful, although wasn’t my first choice of combination of flavors(not letting that affect my star rating, I didn’t pick it). The trio dips and chips sounded good, and it tasted just fine, but nothing amazing. Hey, it’s bar food. I would like to go back and try an actual meal. But my favorite part were the drink options. They have a large variety and some unique mixes of flavors, everyone I was with enjoyed the drinks we tried. The atmosphere was pleasant, spacious enough that I feel like it wouldn’t be cramped even when tables were full(but when we were there, there weren’t many patrons). Staff was nice and accommodating. Overall, drinks were fantastic, food was good enough to want to try more, but not stellar enough to earn itself 5 stars.

I did a lot more bar hopping this summer than usual, guess it’s the new guy in my life that’s dragging this old dog out everywhere. I’ve never been to Bar Louie but it was a chill atmosphere. They had a live band which was kind of annoying when they start trying to jazzify hip hop tunes. The drinks were phenomenal. They had a good variety of specialty drinks for the girlie girls that like a little liquor with their fruit drinks. We had a few appetizers to help minimize the buzz and they were decent for the price. I like that they started happy hour at 9pm on a Thursday night, that was pretty cool.

By Far an overall good experience. Food: Not a run of the mill meal. Pun intended. Presentation consistently well done. The Taste leaves you feeling like much thought was put into each dish. As a person passionate about food, cooking at home, I can honestly say I’d love to spend some time in the kitchen with this staff. Service: Defiantly the highlight. Service with a smile. After several trips they do not seem to be rushed to get away from you. If you fell chatty they make the time. If you want to get into your date they respect that while staying attentive. One waiter how is now my favorite would walk by often making sure to establish eye contact to discern if «needed anything» while allowing me and my date to enjoy a getting to know each other conversation un interrupted. He would sneak in refills like a Ninja. Environment: Love the décor and ambiance of the area. Open and inviting. Dark enough to be romantic without being creepy. It seems to generate a consistent audience that has an appreciation for the nicer places to eat and drink without being obnoxious. Dress of most customers seems to be dressy casual. Music: A most pleasant surprise. Lots and I mean lots of good music. I’ve been several times and heard several bands. Consistently feel good classics and others. I have yet to be disappointed. So why the 4 stars. Music can sometimes be a little loud. If conversation is top of your list. Sit outside on the nicely done patio which can be a pain in the heat, its perfect in the evenings.

This place is ok. I came with friends during what I thought was happy hour but we were 3 minutes late and missed it. We ended up ordering a martini anyways at the waitresses recommendation. The drink was good but not the for the price. I recommend coming here for happy hour only. After that the drinks are almost $ 10 a pop.

I have come to Bar Louie a few times for sponsored happy hours and have enjoyed the food and atmosphere so I decided to take my family there for dinner on a Friday around 6. It is hard to find a place on Friday evening that isn’t packed and that’s what I was betting on. There were plenty of other patrons but it wasn’t completely packed. We ordered the meatball app and dip trio. The meatballs are very good, they seemed fresh but they were REALLY spicy. The dip trio was good, the chips are really fresh but the dips are small. For my meal, I ordered the Fried Louie and it was great, lots of high quality bacon, cheese and a perfectly fried egg. The loaded fries had queso and were pretty spicy. I think I got less fries because I got them loaded. I had the Pom Peche martini and it was AMAZING. I loved the wide cocktail menu!

I got the Sesame Chicken Lettuce Wraps. They were good but were a tad bit too salty when I kept eating more & more. I liked the Thai chili sauce but didn’t like the Dijon mustard. It had a wasabi kick to it. I like the fried rice sticks as well, adds the crunch to everything. Their menu has a wide variety. They most likely are favorited by their sandwiches & burgers. I almost went with The Voodoo sandwich but I was trying to keep it light for how late I was eating.

Hmm, it looks like most people are having similar experiences at this Bar Louie. As the current rating states: it’s A-okay. Not exactly spectacular or particularly memorable, but they’re doing pretty well and hopefully one day they’ll stand out a little more. I came here with my dad and brother not too long ago after an exhausting day(my niece was born and then my car decided to die at the hospital). By the time we got here it was about 11PM and the place was almost empty. Maybe 2 other patrons. The atmosphere really is nice; a beautiful bar, tons of space, moody lighting, modern furniture and décor. I like the look and feel a lot. I’m just not crazy about their menu or their drinks. There aren’t too many local brews or liquors(Bar Louie is a huge chain) and I think their cocktails are on the pricey side for not being very creative or crafty. I’m so used to really unique cocktail menus with fresh herbs and local products that paying $ 10 for anything not-so-interesting/high-quality/inventive is kind of a bummer. They do have an okay happy hour menu, however, but I’m just never at places like this before 7PM. The food menu is large, there’s a lot going on. I worry about menus like this(think Cheesecake Factory) because how can one restaurant make fantastic foods in every genre? There are Italian themed plates, Asian inspired meals, burgers and classic bar foods, sandwiches, flatbreads, tacos, fish and chips, ahi tuna! I must say that the pear and blue cheese salad, while way too big, was actually really good though! And they have an orange, blackberry, and Brie salad that sounds amazing… This location does a «Blues and Brews» themed evening on Thursday nights where they have live music and a focus on beer. I think that’s a good way for them to kind of stand out and offer up something unique. I just feel like Bar Louie is all over the place a bit, and I want them to focus on whatever it is they do best.

I’ve had such mixed experiences with this establishment. My very first Bar Louie experience ever was in Washington, D.C. and it was so much fun. We sat at the bar and ordered food and drinks. The bartender waited on us hand and foot and it was such a great time. When this location opened, my friends and I went to take advantage of the super cheap appetizers and drinks. Service was slow and our friends had to wait outside in the cold despite the fact that we saved seats for them at our time because they were«over capacity». Weird, but ok. We ended up leaving because of all the drama. Fast forward about a year and my classmates decide that they want to meet up at Bar Louie to have happy hour. I was less than enthused to say the least but being a true Unilocaler, I decided to give them a third chance. When we walked in, my friend and I sat at the bar and ordered Diva martinis. By the time we finished up our drink, everyone started showing up and we moved to the designated section they had for us. Our waitress Stephanie was great and kept the drinks and food coming as we ordered them. Overall, my experience was pleasant. Unfortunately, some of my classmates who came later had pretty poor service. They ordered drinks that took 10 – 15 minutes to arrive and one of my friends ordered a drink that never came. Luckily that did not happen to me but that’s pretty typical of Bar Louie. So will I patronize this place by choice? No. But if my classmates just wanted to really meet up here again, I would meet them at Bar Louie for reminiscing and drinks.

Nice, fun and open atmosphere. The kitchen is open late which is a plus. I went for dinner and decided on just having an appetizer. The service and the food were just ok at best. I would go back again for the music and atmosphere but it would not be my first choice if i was looking for a place to grab a bite to eat.

We came in because pluckers was packed, so we stopped here to grab drinks and a quick bite to eat. It was a slow night barely anyone inside the restaurant, most was on the patio. We ordered few cocktails and some beer. It seriously took like 15 minutes for the drinks. And at one point my friends saw their cocktail just sitting at the bar. Where was our sever? I have no idea. Draft beer should not even take more than 5 minutes. The berry mojito tasted like pure juice and simple syrup, couldn’t even taste the alcohol. The sangria was all sugar as well. Food wise everything took forever to come out, the chicken tortilla soup didn’t even taste like tortilla soup… I got the portobello burger & my bf got the southwest. Burgers were decent, came with fries and tots. Good thing it was only 5 $ that night. I would have NOT paid any more for that. I honestly have nothing positive to say about this whole experience. The only thing that made it our worth while being there was the 5 $ burger special. Even so, I would never come here again.
